Convenience at its finest. Whether you're stopping in to buy a drink, a random chocolate bar, or a can of Spam, J's has you covered. The employees are friendly, the inventory is well-supplied, I can't ask for anything more. City Market is just down the street but I find that place a bit sketch. J's will always be my top choice.

Had a serious case of munchies on way back to hotel and found this place. Pretty good selection of junk (and even some healthy) food. Perfect. Also, super friendly people working there, and they even gave me some holiday chocolates after I checked out!Best convenience store ever!

A little bit pricey but after all you pay for convenient shopping. The employees or owners always greet you with a smile. I'm more than happy to shop here over that other place on olive way any day.

I love how I can always know the price of an item before I buy it. They mark everything. They also carry different items than other nearby stores. The owners [I think] make these delicious snack packs that they sell at the counter. The fruit and nut mix is my fave. Their prices are always competitive to nearby shops, and sometimes better.

Within a 3-block radius, you have City Market, Benson Grocery, and J's. How does J's stack up?- Selection: narrower than City Market - some basic household necessities (tampons, soap), but not much. Although they probably stock similarly to Benson's, you can find a wider variety of (slightly) higher quality goods at the latter (Flagship cheese, par example). I also love the multidtudinous array of repulsively delicious sugary goods at Benson (read: gushers, fruit by the foot, fruit roll-up, etc.) On the plus side, J's is more intuitively organized - there are like 7 cases of beverages at Benson's, with Coke products in like 4 of them.- Service: as expected... They will sell you items. That's what you want, right? They don't have the cute Asian guy from Benson's, so that's a bummer, but what can you do.- Misc: definitely less creepy/sketchy than City Market, which is always a plus. (Unless you find crackheads to be a vital part of the convenience store experience, in which case you're better off heading to CM.)My fav convenience store is a little farther up Pine, the Pine Food Store, but sometimes you gotta settle.
