Went to Joyee with family friends with toddlers, we ordered:1. Xiaolongbao2. two types of dumplings3. braised pork belly with fried tofu4. stirfried pea shoots with low oil and low salt (so the baby can eat it)5. steamed fish (tasted really fresh)And it was awesome! I didn't get a chance to take pics of the food. The ambiance was good, restaurant was pretty packed for lunch on a Saturday.

The waitress was pretty attentive. This restaurant is a very casual dining place. We ordered the pan fried pork buns and the stewed pork belly with tofu. The pan-fried pork buns, unfortunately, were a bit off. Instead of having a juicy sauce inside, the juice from the pork was more like a thick gravy. That's not the way it should be; the buns are supposed to be filled with a savory, juicy sauce that bursts out when you bite into them. The stewed pork belly with tofu was just alright. The dish was somewhat one-dimensional in flavor. It should have had a bit more sweetness and vinegar in the sauce to balance the flavors and add depth, but it fell short of that expectation.

I was once again craving dumplings and wanted to try a new dumpling spot. It's in a nice plaza, easy to find parking. I've always seen this restaurant in Poway, but was glad they had a location a lot closer to the UTC area. Inside was very nice and clean. Server was super attentive and checked in on us very often. Beef chow fun: This dish was good, but didn't really stand out. There was a bit of wok hay but was expected a bit more. The beef cuts were very tender. Just wish the soy sauce flavor would have come out a little bit more, but overall a pretty solid dish to start off. Spicy wontons: Picture looks like it's dry, but there was a ton of sauce/soup(?) at the bottom of the bowl. As I am super partial to spicy wontons, it was probably my favorite dish. I loved how savory the sauce was. It was a very thin sauce, hence why I said soup earlier, but it was flavorful. Not too spicy, so we added extra chili sauce they had on the side. Pork and chive dumplings: These were steamed (I think there was an extra charge to get them fried). I think the filling was a bit drier than the other dumplings we ordered. It came in a bowl that had a separate bowl for soy sauce and vinegar, which I thought was very clever. The skin was a bit thick, but there was a still a ton of filling. Very good, but nothing too special with the pork and chive. Chicken and corn: Somehow, at every dumpling spot, I always like the chicken and corn dumplings the most. It was much juicier than the pork and chive, but I also just really, really like corn. Just like the pork and chive ones, the skin is a bit thick but they give a ton of filling. I think they gave us an extra dumpling, too! TLDR: Nice location and easy to find parking, dumplings are solid but don't stand out from other places, very good service, very good food (see above for details), would come again.

Breakfast on weekend until 11:30z Came here specifically for Jian Bing because someone in a group mentioned it. Absolutely horrible. The sauce does not taste right and it's like an inedible salt bomb. Shredded lettuce was weird and the wonton strip was over fried and stale. My husband thought the sauce tasted like chili cheese Fritos. The sausage inside was good, taste like the red wrapper Chinese sausage.

In the 626 this would be a solid 4 to 4.5 but for SD this is hands down a 5 and a gem. Every dish we had was delicious. Garlic green beans had a lot of flavor and wok hei. Xiao long baos didn't break and had good soup and good flavor and the dan dan mein had the mala (numbing spice flavor) on lock. If I had to pick at it, I wish the ginger was thin julienned ginger instead of the red pickled ginger and that the dan dan mein had more sesame flavor and peanuts. The shengjian bao while good in breading texture and meat lacked soup which was absorbed into the bread. Still good, but slight miss on this. The restaurant itself is small, but they do have outdoor seating, catchy kpop and a clean bathroom. Service is also good. Our waters were always full and they were attentive. If you're looking for quality Chinese food of dumpling and noodle variety, look no further than Joyee!

Ordered food via Grubhub. Pros:-their portion size is incredibly generous compared to other businesses. -price is very reasonable for what you get-I absolutely loved their beef belly hot pot. It was full of delicious, tender beef and chilies. This is something I would definitely order again.Cons:-noneOverall, if you're looking for a great deal, this place is wonderful. I will definitely be reordering their hot pot in the near future!

I go up and down with this place, but tonight's takeout was fantastic and such a great value! You do need to pay $2/per little container of rice (not included with entrees), but the vegetarian entrees are HUGE portions and much more reasonable than the fish or meat. So I got tofu in brown sauce + Szechuan eggplant, with 2 things of rice - two massive portions for $11.99 each, so $30 altogether for the two dishes. Definitely 2-3 meals here, very yummy. I just had to restrain myself from eating too much, because both of these dishes are super tasty, and the rice was delicious too.

We normally go to the Poway location, but tonight had delivery from 4S location. It was delicious as always! We had the meatball with tofu and vegtables soup. I did not realize it was soup when ordering. But was very happy with the flavorful broth, with 4 large tender ( not leaden) meatballs, with cabbage and mushroom. We also had beef buns that were nice and gingery. Dan Dan noodles that had the spicy sauce on the side..which was nice for people that might not be huge fire eaters. Very authetic and tasty food! Oh we got the bean paste sesame balls for dessert. Leftovers for tomorrow!

I have been traveling to China for 25+ years and have run joint venture companies there and traveled across the country into different provinces/cities and believe I am quite the expert on authentic Chinese cuisine. We had previously tried the Joyee in 4S Ranch and it was terrible, so, coming to this Joyee at first was fraught with a little concern, . . . . . .BUT, it excelled and exceeded all my expectations. The staff at this Joyee is marvelous and friendly and they remember you and your favorites and welcome you like family!!Their Xiao Long Bao is really wonderful and having an option of something besides Din Tai Fang and their wait and prices - I would always pick this Joyee!! They have wonderful selections from all over China - their Cumin Lamb is as authentic as I have had in Inner Mongolia, their Dou Miao (snowpea leaves with garlic) remind me of my trips to Beijing, their Sichuan La Zi Ji (Spicy Crispy Chicken) is as authentic as I've had in Chengdu. And my wife loves their Shu Mai. We also love their Beef with Rice Noodles, their Beef Noodle Soup, their WonTon Soup!I would estimate that we first discovered this Joyee, we would eat there probably 2-3 times every week. And now I would estimate 3-6 time a month.Interestingly, they are just around the corner from Chef Zhu, . . . . .but in my humble opinion, well, okay, I'm not that humble because I've spent decades in China, the majority of Joyees dishes are better!Hmmmmm, now that I've written this, I've got the craving to have Joyee for dinner!!

The restaurant is near my location but I haven't had a chance to visit this place for meal. This is a Chinese restaurant serving variety of Chinese dishes. When I walked in, there are all Chinese people eating for lunch which signifies that food should be ok appealing to Chinese people which the food is meant to serve originally. I sat and ordered shrimp Cho Mein, Noodles with shrimps. It tastes much better than one served in Panda Express which I often go to for Chinese food. The amount of food was too large for me to finish all. The cost of this meal $15 and adding tips came to 18 bucks. Hope to visit again and try new dishes!
