The food was absolutely delicious! My friend and I came for dinner on a Thursday evening and there wasn't that many people, which was surprising considering how great of an experience we had. The service was fast, and our server was super friendly. We got the Kalbi which was kinda pricey, but we shared it and it was perfect! I'll definitely be coming back!

I came with my family. There wasn't much people when we got there. The male server kept rushing us to order. After we told him to give us a few minutes to look, he keeps coming back after 2 minutes to ask us for our orders. That was very irritating. I need to look at the ingredients and make sure I order right. I ended up ordering hastily and forgot to ask them to have the bean sprouts removed. I had to buy another entree just so I could eat. I was hungry, and I was mad. For being so hurried into ordering, the food came out so late. The customers who came in later got their food first. Everyone in my table has eaten already. The bulgogi is not even good. It was bland, like the meat wasn't marinated at all. asked for hot water; they gave me barley tea. I cannot have barley tea. They also didn't bring out everything we needed. I had to ask for everything that I need. And there is a mandatory service charge so you can't tip based on the quality of their service. I'd rather drive all the one to Convoy to get better Korean food and better service.

Jomaru Hot Pot marks itself as one of the first Restaurants in National City to offer a authentic Korean Cuisine. If you're familiar with KBBQ and the crunchy flavorful textures of Korean Fried Chicken, it's time to take a step further into the complexity of their cultural dishes. This location was previously a Sushi Spot and now they've opened up the space to make it feel far more accommodating. Perfectly balanced seating structures, booths on the side and larger party tables towards the middle. You'll just have to check this place out to know what I mean.Upon arrival we were greeted with a friendly staff and their service was phenomenal all throughout. After ordering they provided us with their delicious side dishes. We ate them up so quick they offered to replenish them shortly afterwards LOL. Although we rejected since we were saving room for the main courses. I had the Haemul Kalguksu (Seafood Knife-Cut Noodle Soup) and my friend had the Haejang-Guk also known as Hangover Soup (Spicy Pork Bone Soup)The Haejang-Guk which was extremely flavorful! It truly was the perfect serving size for one person. The only issue he had was the lack of vegetables with the dish. Plenty of meat, although even after ordering an addition of mushrooms for $4 the balance of the dish was still lacking. The Haemul Kalguksu took longer to make since their noodles are made and cut in house. But it was well worth the wait. The dish had a large portion of noodles and seafood soaked in its comforting rich broth.Overall a good place to visit for any occasion! Go in solo or with friends/family and you'll leave with warm bellies.

The seafood pancake was a pleasant surprise. Unlike many other places, it was thin and crunchy with plenty of green onions. It had a unique texture and flavor that I really enjoyed. The galbi, while flavorful, was a bit of a letdown. It was slightly overcooked and rubbery, but the taste was still good. The steamed egg came in a large portion, which was nice, but it was unfortunately overcooked. It didn't quite have the soft, fluffy texture I was hoping for.The Gam-ja-tang was the star of the show. The meat was incredibly tender and fell off the bone effortlessly. This dish alone makes Jomaru worth a visit. If you go, make sure to try the fried rice with cheese at the end of your meal. It was so flavorful and a perfect way to round out the dining experience.Overall, Jomaru has some hits and misses, but the highlights make it worth a visit. I'll definitely be back for that Gam-ja-tang and fried rice!

I've been to the jomaru in convoy, but this location I went for a work lunch. Inside it's very clean, a good amount of parking in the area, easy to find. Service is fast, employees are super nice. Seafood pajun was one of the better ones I've tried. I do wish it was a little more crispier but, still very good. I would get it again. The hae jang guk is a personal, and I want to go as far as saying it was better than the one I had in convoy. It is served with a bowl of rice. Super freaking delicious. The banchan is all really good. The kimchi is the more citrusy kind but the crunch is there. The potato is super good. If I wasn't so full from my meal, I would've asked for a 3rd round of banchan. If there was something I could change, I would say don't serve the rice until your meal w the rice comes out too if it's going to be uncovered. Our rice was served w our banchan, so it sat for some time and the rice wasn't has hot anymore. All in all, 5/5 I would definitely come back again. Everything tasted amazing and my coworkers were extremely satisfied w their meals too.

A pretty good chain restaurant. Ordered several dishes including: gamjatang, bossam, steamed egg, Don katsu and fried rice at the end.Gamjatang: portion was good but not generous. Need to ask for perilla powder as it is not included. Nicely cooked but lacks a bit of depth (4/5)Bossam: portion is tiny but nicely cooked. Comes with Salted cabbage and fresh perilla leave. Orders an extra perilla for $4 (4/5)Don katsu: A bit overly fried for my taste but seems like it is their "thing". Uses traditional sauce instead of modern butterfly version. (3.5/5)Fried rice made with leftover gamjatang: $8 for one portion of fried rice, it probably tasted the best out of all dishes we ordered but a bit conflicted that they charge $8 for a dish that is made with our leftover dish. (4.5/5)Overall, it was good but not something I would praise over. With this said, the service was very good and the servers were very accommodating. We had three toddlers, and they were really nice to us.

Not your AYCE KBBQ place but more of a home cooked meal stew and rice spot. Food is great and filling. They have limited dish on the menu but their main is the Gamjatang and scorched fried rice after! Personally a medium size gamjatang can easily feed 3-4 people. You can also request for add-ons and I had them add "tteok" (rice cake) on ours. You get several side dishes with your order and can always ask for refills. Priced reasonably for the food portions. Our server was friendly and explained step by step way to best enjoy your Gamjatang. A tiny little spot between right next to Red Ribbon. Will definitely come back to try their other dish!

Tried the convoy location and found out they opened one closer to home. My husband and I enjoyed the hot pot last time and the fried rice. This time around got the bossam, soondubu, pork cutlet, ddukbokgi. Enjoyed everything we had!

Food was great! The server and others were super nice and friendly. The place was clean and honestly I would think we were in Clairemont. The only thing that reminded me that I'm in national city were the Tita's complaining about their day lol
