Johnnie’s Pizza & Wings

Still looking for best pizza place in my area. Decided to try Johnnie's for the first time tonight. I ordered large cheese, large roni and a small buffalo wing. Johnnie's is a small place and the lady at the counter greeted me when I arrived. My food was ready right on time. Overall I wasn't impressed with the food. Pizza was floppy and the cheese was kinda clumpy tasting. Flavor of the pizza was ok once you got past the clumpy cheese. First look at the wings and I was not hopeful but the wing were pretty good. The outside of the wing had a thin coating and the chicken itself was delicious. So the search continues.

I have walked/driven by Johnnie's so many times, but this was my first time in after calling to order a Chicken Parm calzone; the small was huge! A nice woman answered when I called, and she was there 10 minutes later when I picked it up, very friendly in person and thanked me for coming in.After eyeing a plate of fudgy brownies I bought one of those too, it was excellent!I needed to pass one of their competitors - Gigi's - to get there, but I am no longer a fan of G's due to the snarly service and after trying Johnnie's great calzone I never need to think about Gigi's again. If you have passed Johnnie's too, go right in for a great surprise! There is retail parking along the driveway, so pull in and get your great food!!

Amazing subs and calzones. The owners are super sweet and it's now one of our favorite places to order takeout!

Picked up lunch on a weekend.Got two Large calzones - and they were Large! Each was cut into 6-7 generously sized pieces. Loaded with toppings, came fresh out of the oven, piping hot. One of the better Calzones around!

Lovely gem of a place along Charles River walking path in Watertown. Delicious pizza, reasonable prices, nice view, kind staff and cleanest public bathroom I've ever seen! Definitely recommend.

Asian chicken wrap is my go to order. I've had the salads always good and fresh. Football season is here and I'll be stopping in for a calzone soon. The best French fries are at johnnies! Family fun by the nicest people. The restaurant is always clean and solid selection of drinks.

Excellent wings and sandwich place. The chicken gyros sandwich was excellent, especially the sandwich which was a balance of soft insides and crisp outside. The chicken itself could have been more seasoned heavily, and there could be more fresh veggies inside. The tzatziki sauce could have been more prominent as well.The wings are special though - they need a more efficient transport system to keep the wings crispy on the inside, but the sauce covering was excellent, the balance of salt and vinegar and sugar was extremely well-balanced, and it was not too spicy for the sake of being too spicy nor was it too sugary. Super impressive!A real gem in the neighborhood, check it out.

Came in after a walk along the river and ordered large spicy bbq boneless wings and the aristotle's deep thoughts deep dish pizza. The wings were well sauced, the blue cheese dipping sauce that came with them was really good with big chunks of blue cheese, and the chicken was juicy. Pretty much the perfect boneless wings.The pizza was incredibly tasty and every element was great: cheese, sauce, chicken, tomatoes. It's personal sized plus a little bit, fyi. Will be back again, this place is fantastic.

The reason why we originally ordered from this place is that the estimated wait time was shorter than the others: 30 minutes. We placed two delivery orders by 6:40pm. One came at 8:20 and the other one never came. Most of the food we received was cold or soggy.When I called the restaurant to calmly explain the issue, the person who said they were the manager didn't apologize and coldly said that I would need to work the refund out through Slice, the delivery app. When I called Slice, they stated that the pizza wasn't really late (lol), blamed the restaurant and said that it was a really busy night for them, and that the restaurant refused to honor the refund.So, one order never came, and no refund. The other was over 1.5 hours late.I don't recommend ordering here or using the Slice app. Especially if you're hungry, and with so many pizza places to choose from with way better customer service! Strangely this is a similar situation with Crust & Curry in Lexington. What's up with some pizza places these days? If this restaurant does respond to this review, just know that the above is exactly what happened.
