I just moved back to Chapel Hill last year and have been coming to JVG religiously! The drink specials are incredible, pastries are delicious, and the servers are quick and friendly. I'm glad to have a local coffee shop that's tasty AND a chill place to hang out.

It was good tea and quick service. I just think it's a little pricey like most coffee places. A really big "nope" for me was when they charged my card but asked if I wanted to leave a tip. Honestly asking out loud and not letting the person choose/ how much they leave is a bit rude. Socially you are forced to say yes unless you want to be judged harshly. That's why I took off another star. That needs to be up to the customer privately. Also its kinda of annoying to have to use a mask even though 95% of places have dropped it and are encouraging them but not REQUIRING them. Masking in-door but then not having people mask when they are sitting doesn't make much sense to me. Overall not as good as before to me.

I enjoyed the coffee from here. On the first visit, I got their iced vanilla coffee which was fantastic. It was bold and not overly sweet. I didn't come across many good coffee shops in the area, so we have been coming back. Friendly staff and I like the atmosphere--a good place for studying or group projects.

Lots of parking right outside, free wifi, friendly service, and very good about public distancing & wearing masks. There are a few unique items on menu, I enjoyed my rose macadamia mocha and would love to try others in the future! Also selling coffee beans & other merch. Good spot for getting some work done.

A delicious macadamia milk latte. It's socially distant and they enforce Covid precautions. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Plenty of parking. It's a good easy place to do work or chat with a friend.

This place has been a favorite of mine for a long time, but my visitation fell off. Recently a Starbucks opened up about a 1/2 mile away, but they're always crazy busy and stop taking on-line orders when they are. Then you have to wait in a 15-car drive thru line. You can drive over to Joe Van Gogh, order a drink, get the drink, and drink the drink in less time than that line would have taken.I can say all sorts of great things, but that's what brought me back to this place and reminded me of how much I love it and the baristas. NCDOT needs to give them a sign on the highway. @#$%ing Subway gets one, and they're only 2 doors down.Oh, and here ... order on-line for quick pick up.

You have to wear a mask. The chai tea just tastes like milk with a little bit of chai flavoring in it but it was very disappointing because I thought it would be much stronger and more flavorful.

Convenient neighborhood cafe to meet friends. Small variety of baked goods always delicious. Not cool that charge $0.50 more than listed price for hot beverage . Maybe it is written on the display menu . But I only realized when looked at receipt later. Outdoor seating in the shade is good .

This is my favorite coffee shop in Chapel Hill. The drinks are amazing and they have in house made seasonal syrup specials. I wait all year long for the winter special- rose cardamom syrup. I also love the option of Macadamia milk- as someone who is lactose intolerant, I find this the tastiest of the plant milks for coffee. They make their pastry and other food options at their location in Durham. I recommend the London Fog scone and any of the cheesy biscuit options.
