I know, I know. I was gonna try other items but I just went with the feel good croissants. Butter and chocolate. They have a little window to look out of and watch me while I work, before I snatch them from their bag and eat them! Friendly service, they were a little bit busier than my previous visits. I had to wait a few minutes for them to bring them out to-go but that was okay. I got a few minutes to just sit and people watch. Will be back and will try NEW ITEMS!

This place has been on my list to try for a while, now I can finally move on. I'm glad I tried it, but it doesn't really stand out as a place I'd rush back too. Keep in mind when you read this review that my tastes are very simple. Everything here seems to be expertly crafted, I just don't have the discernible taste to separate it from other places. I tried a slice of opera cake. Honestly as a whim because I've seen opera cake on several baking shows and wanted to experience it. For $8 for a small slice, I expected to be WOWed by the experience, but again maybe I'm too simple to appreciate it. I also had a ham and cheese croissant. To me it tasked overcooked and only had one small slice of ham. So it was mostly just bread with cheese crusts. I'd pass on this. Now! The white chocolate pistachio and caramel cookie was REALLY good. I also had a specialty latte. It was good but not any better than anything I've tried from other coffee shops. The service was fast and efficient and inside is super nice and cozy. I could see this as a place to meet a friend to hang out. I'm glad I tried it and think it was worth the experience but it was pricey so I don't think I liked it enough to try it again

Came here with my mom and grandma for a fun little brunch. The location is on the smaller side but people were going in and out fast, so there were seats still available. Food took a little longer to come out but it's a crowded place, so it's to be expected. My mom had the Quiche Lorraine, I had the breakfast sandwich, grandma had the croissant sandwich. Food was fresh, salty, delicious. The buns for my sandwich were a little sweet, and very pillowy. My only complaint is how oily the food is. It seemed too oily and definitely not the kind of meal that leaves you feeling refreshed afterwards. I'll come back here and try something like the lox croissant!

Top notch bakery with the best croissants in the valley! Yup, that's a big claim and I stand by it!! All of the pastries are so fresh and absolutely delicious. It's always hard to only pick one pastry so I usually end up buying an extra to enjoy the next day. I will drive out of my way to come here! This location out of their two is my favorite and has a nice, cute indoor seating area that's perfect for a coffee meetup. They always have a seasonal latte and customer service is great. 10/10 recommend!

I almost do not want to give this place a wonderful review, because it is so good that I don't want too many people coming and taking away the great options they have on the weekends. But I love the too much as well as the people of Phoenix, so good things should just mutually benefit. Plus the good news may already be out as this place is a James Beard winner.Well, I have tried literally everything here that is vegetarian, and it's all great. The crispiness of a cinnamon roll I had never experienced before, and I doubt I ever will. Normally, I am not an enjoyer of eclairs, but I have tried those in small amounts (shared with friends). The weekends have greater selections so I recommend going then, but it may be busier. During the week, there are less selections but a much more calm vibe. Well, if I see you there, I won't fret. It's good that you come and enjoy this place.

This patisserie has quite a big assortments of pastries. The croissant, chocolate croissant and pain au raisin took me to the French boulangeries in France. Merci for that! Very friendly staff, delicious pastries and lots of parking. Seating though is very limited. They only have a small store front sidewalk patio.

I tried JL for the first time the other day, and I agree with another Yelper, the plain croissant is nice but not my favorite. Mine was on the drier, flakier side and I prefer croissants that are more buttery and rich. My visit was on a cold January morning and the shop was freezing! Even the poor baristas were holding themselves and shivering. I tried to cozy up in the corner with my coffee and croissant, but even with a coat on the temperature was too uncomfortable. The thermostat read 58 degrees. Yikes! I hope that was a fluke. It would've been nice if the temp was cozy. It probably doesn't help that the front door doesn't close all the way leaving a 4" gap. The staff were super nice and you can tell that they love their regulars.

I was super excited to find this place while visiting Phoenix, such great reviews! Like every other human on earth who visits another city/town, I try to find good coffee and a good pastry. I was super underwhelmed. I had the cranberry and walnut scone, it was probably the best thing I ate, 8/10. My son had a pastry with potatoes and pork, the pastry was too sweet and a little chewy. I got the baguette, I ate it a day later, so it had hardened, but there was an odd taste - almost tart. It was ok though, 6/10. I also got the cinnamon and cardamom morning bun, again a miss. I actually couldn't taste the cardamom at all. 5/10Then the biscuits... my search in life is for the perfect biscuit so I was STOKED to see them. I got the plain one and man, what a grave disappointment. It was right on the verge of too salty...for me!! I can't get enough salt, so that's saying something. I could have looked past it, but it was also so rubbery. I actually didn't finish it. A first for me ever. Maybe it was an off day, maybe the butter wasn't cold or the dough overworked, but cry me a latte, I was crushed. First world problems I know. So grateful for the food and the hands that made it, but would try somewhere else next time.

JL is producing next level, elevated pastries! You might wonder just how good can a croissant be... Well the balanced pastries are sweet, savory, and flaky all without being greasy. The spinach + feta croissant and ham + cheese croissants are our go-to's and are highly recommended. From pastries to quiches to cakes, you can't go wrong here. Although the price point is higher than most other shops, the quality is easily worth it.Everyone is also super nice which is a cherry on top. This is a great spot to spend the morning with a coffee and breakfast!
