YUM YUM YUM YUMMMM!!I'm the biggest dumpling fanatic & I think at this point I can differentiate a good dumpling from a bad one & these right here ..... Man just thinking ab them is making me sweat. The dumplings were super juicy and filling. Incredible flavor. At the table, there is soy sauce & chili oil to complement the dumplings. 10/10. The service was great & they even have a boba tea bar on the other side of the order counter to complete the meal! A must in Chicago, i will have to go again!!

A few coworkers told me about Jiao last year, but I just went for the first time, and it was great. As of June 2024, they have a 30% off special if you come before a certain time, which is great. We always need more affordable and delicious options in the Loop. The dumplings come either steamed or pan-fried, with several different types. A note: PLEASE check the menu's little broth indicator before ordering. I didn't and had one pop open on my shirt and me. It was still good, though. Also! They also have milk tea and boba with oat milk as an option for us that can't do dairy.

Cute and clean interior. Not a table service place. Walk in and order your dumplings. You're given a buzzer when food is ready to be picked up. Dumplings are reasonably priced and quite good. Juicy but not like XLB. We tried the steamed platter and shared it between two of us, plus wood ear mushrooms.

It's all about the dumplings baby!! Love the atmosphere of this spot - spacious, clean and the decor is a vibe. The dumplings are served warm and they are about the size of what tou would get from take out Chinese food - so not very big. They are served hotnand there a little broth inside so they are juicy. The shrimp one though is not worth paying extra for because you barely taste it. The dumplings are also a little bit on the salty side - not overwhelmingly so, but I didn't bother dipping in soy sauce because then it's just a little too much. I also ordered one of the iced teas and I like that you can order as little as 30% sweetness. Note that this is still VERY sweet. Overall this is a nice place to go for lunch, or a light dinner.

This place is a Chicago staple. Anytime the wife and I are in Chinatown, we come here. if you have not tried this place it is an experience and definitely share with others. Efficiently so the wait times aren't too brutal. Plenty of things to do in the area while you wait.

surprisingly really juicy and tasty dumplings! they're a lot smaller than I expected, but still pretty good and they paired so well with the soy sauce. for the price point, not sure if I would come back tho. ($8 for 6)we came on a wednesday night and had to do togo because they close at 8, but the interior was very spacious, had good lighting, and had lots of seats. workers were pretty quick with serving us. would advise to skip their drinks... the milkshakes, chai, and milk tea were all pretty watery.

Takes credit cardCome on Monday -Fri from 11am-2pm, it's 30% on the entire order!!This place serves way better dumplings than the Qing Xiang Yuan in Chinatown. Dumplings are on par with the flavor from Los Angeles. I wish they were a little bigger. You have the option for steamed or pan fried. I think steamed is better and more healthy. Pan fried has more texture. Truffle and Beef ($11.49/6 pieces)- so unique, tasty and moist. This was probably the best option here. Lamb and Coriander (7.99/6 pieces)- if you like lamb, get this! The lamb flavor was subtle and matches will the coriander spice. Pork and cabbage (6.99/6 pieces)- pretty good flavor, average flavor. Shrimp, pork, leek (7.99/6 pieces)- a little disappointing cause could not taste the shrimp.

Honestly when I saw the size of the dumplings I was pretty disappointed but they were soooo tasty. Both options were pretty juicy- not soup dumplings but kinda approaching that. The sauce was really tasty too. I couldn't decide whether I liked the chicken and mushroom or pork/shrimp/leek ones more - we got the pork ones steamed and the chicken fried. I think I liked the fried more tho steamed was super yummy. Really clean in the restaurant and the staff was super nice and willing to help despite them closing 15 minutes after we got there. The milk tea was smaller than expected and kinda watery at 80% sugar. My friend said his milkshake was also somehow watery which was strange. I'd say this is a bit pricey for the size of the dumplings but they're very yum. Would probably get 12 for myself next time if I'm hungry

Here is another good place in the Loop. It's pretty much the same kinds of hours for the most part. JIAO is only open on weekdays, but they stay open later though. Best things to get here are the bubble teas and dumplings. The prices are pretty good for around here for sure. Came at lunch and we got something to drink from the tea cafe, as well as eating some of the signature items. It's a pretty casual looking place. The inside has the cartoony looking stuff found at these modern dumpling restaurants. It's about $5 for a milkshake. This mixes a flavor with ice and milk, and they have a few interesting ones. Also these can be made with oat milk. The Oreo is like drinking cookies it seems. Get the dumplings as a half or whole dozen. It's about $8 for the half. The Tofu, Wood Ear Mushroom, And Cabbage one is okay for vegans. Also they have instructions for mixing the soy sauce and vinegar, which make a good sauce. The dumplings came out pretty good, but to be satisfied you probably need lots of these. Great choice for casual Asian food. It for sure isn't authentic, but it's better than most of these other similar types of places. The teas are great frozen or regular, and the dumplings come in choices for meat eaters or vegetarians.

This restaurant is a wonderful and affordable spot for lunch. It is nice inside with large windows and clean seating. It's the sister restaurant of the Qing Xing Yuan dumpling restaurant in Chinatown. However, this restaurant has a lower price point and more of an eat-and-go/cafeteria feel. It can be easy to miss or walk by from the outside as there's no sign for the restaurant that sticks out. They have a weekday lunch special that I love. $9.99 for 12 dumplings and the daily appetizer. Lunch that cheap in Chicago is a steal! And the taste isn't to shabby either. The flavor of the dumpling and the appetizer are selected for each day. My favorite is Wednesday, Lamb & Coriander with a side of cucumber. The dumpling filling has good flavor, and I usually get a spoon to catch all of the soupy goodness of the dumpling. I prefer my dumplings fried. However, I wish they made the fried dumplings crispier. Each time I've been, my fried dumplings have been a bit soggy. The decor/theme is adorable. Their mascot is a cute cartoon dumpling, and you can find pictures of him all over the restaurant, including a mural that stretches wall to wall on one side of the seating area. They even give out free cartoon stickers. The menu is also nice. It looks like they put in a good deal of effort to design the space and all the merch. If you're craving dumplings, check this place out!
