This was my first time having a meal from Jerk & Soul Food, I've heard great things about the families restaurant, but as we know in Chicago , "Lemme taste it for myself!"....I was not disappointed, The jerk chicken was superb, the cabbage was a hit, and the Mac and cheese definitely passed the test (y'all know Mac and cheese is not everyone's ministry) they nailed it.To cap it off, my son was able to meet the proprietor, Mr. Fears.My Wife and I have added this to our "Hey kids, we will be right back!" list.Keep Making It Happen!Best,D. They catered an event that I attended this weekend, and when I tell you EVERYTHING was delicious, it was off the chain! The jerk chicken was moist and the sauce had the right about of spice and flavor, it wasn't just spicy it was flavorful. The cabbage was so good I had seconds, and they understood the assignment with the mac and cheese! I had never heard of this place, but now that I do, I'll definitely be patronizing this establishment. I live about an hour out from it's location, but the food was soooo good, I will take the drive. I was also able to meet the owner, great personality and very humble. Do yourself a favor and check them out, I promise you will not be disappointed.

This place just opened and in the time of COVID, that is a wonderful thing. Their menu is not huge but what they do is done very well. The jerk sauce has a great flavor and a nice heat - if you're tastebuds are Midwest accustomed, it'll be hot; if you're from Albuquerque, it'll only be a bit piquant. The Mac and cheese is quite good, though a little saucier would be better for me. The staff is super nice. Prices are reasonable - two specials, 3 extra sides and both breads was $26. Larger mains run $12-14 or so. I'm super happy this place has opened here. We need it! I'll be back for sure.

The service here is terrible! No personality at the register,no thank you and no friendliness. I gave it 4 stars because the food is really good; not too salty, or overcooked. I ordered the chicken, plantains and yams. Everything was cooked to perfection, soul food at its best!! I just might have to go back and deal with the nasty attitudes just for the delicious, hot food.

I live in Forest Park; it's a same I have to travel to the south side of chicago for Jerk! Mac & cheese awesome; jerk chicken awesome; jerk sauce awesome; I am not a fan of beans/rice, but this is good. Cabbage awesome. I am full now. with lots of food left!

Best food best service best everything you dont have to wait long the food is fresh and they are friendly

I was looking for something good for lunch and this place came up on maps when I was looking for somewhere in the area during my visit to Chicago. So glad I went! I went on a Wednesday afternoon. It's a small place. Not a lot of seating but don't let that stop you. I think they are mostly to go orders and catering. When I went in there was no one else inside. The workers were nice and helpful when I was trying to decide what I wanted. I decided on the daily special of 1 piece of fried catfish and a side of macaroni. (It comes with fries but you can upgrade the side for $1.00). I also got a 4 piece jerk wings. It took about 15 minutes to get my meal but man it was worth the wait! Everything was hot and fresh! The catfish was so well seasoned and perfectly fried, I have no complaints! They also served it with hot sauce for that extra kick. The macaroni was deliciously cheesy and was also hot and stayed hot the entire time I was eating it which I appreciate because I hate cold food. Last but certainly not least, the jerk wings. Those were some of the best I've had. The flavor was great and they were practically coming off the bone! I only got a 4 piece (which is all I needed) but I could have easily ate 10, they were so good! 10/10 recommend this place if you're in or visiting Chicago!

Food was awesome!!! I will definitely eat it again. The catfish, fried chicken, cabbage. Mac n cheese....Wow!!!!!

I just ordered Uber Eats through this restaurant. They failed to give me a WHOLE meal! So no review on the fried chicken. The fried catfish was SALTY AF and the yams were from two separate cookings- possibly leftovers from the past night. Also they gave me pecan pie instead of caramel cake. By he way, the "catfish" is BASA SWAI not catfish. And it was frozen.
