since finding this place, it has become me and my partner's favorite soup dumpling spot - yes, it's better than din tai fung. easily.we finish every single bite every time we come here! so yummy. we always get the pork soup dumplings. 10/10. today we tried the spicy marinated beef and crab roe soup dumplings for the first time. SO GOOD! the crab roe soup dumplings are my new favorite for sure. staff is also very friendly, informative, and attentive. :)

Nestled outside of the more known asian cuisine area of Convoy, lies an unassuming Chinese/Taiwanese centric restaurant in a normal shopping center. JCK may be known to the locals but for a visitor outside of the state, JCK would be unknown accept for the help of Yelp. This being my 2nd visit, my last visit 7 months prior, the food as I remembered instantaneously brought back memories with the smell and first bite. Aside from the popcorn chicken, you can't go wrong with any of the menu items. All their dishes are flavorful but let the ingredients be the spot light. For instance, the spicy wontons. They aren't spicy but rather a hint of heat sensation. The pork mixture is wrapped so tightly in this thin later of translucent dough skin, very reminiscent of wontons in noodle dishes but very rare to find. I could eat a 10 of these how light they are. If fried rice is your thing. Ordering the pork fried rice is a must. It's comforting but also the taste is quite different with the ground pork blending seemingly into rice. The Dan Dan noodles had all the components that make this dish one my favorites noodle dishes. The combination of the sesame, chili oil, chewy noodles, ground pork and freshness of the thinly diced cucumbers is so addictive. While the food is spectacular, the service and workers are super friendly. Food comes out quickly and service is attentive. Note if you write a yelp review you can get their soup dumplings for free. They are super yummy.

2nd time at this restaurant. I visit San Diego from Time to time and we would occasionally stop here to eat when we are craving Asian food. Michelle, our server has been very kind and accommodating. She is very patient and she provides us with the menu right away and got our drinks on time.. the ambience here they have good music and it is not too loud with the noise. I can hear a lot of good food cooking in the back. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that comes towards San Diego because they are serving great food.

In the north side of East Lake of Chula Vista. The restaurant has plenty of parking. Upon entering, the modern contemporary decor has a splash of Chinese kitchen theme to it. It is very clean.The lighting was right on the dot, not too dark nor bright. The rib broth noodle was very good. Fried string beans was great too. However, the popcorn chicken was a downer, very tasteless and I felt I could get a bag from Tyson. The service was great, the staff was very attentive.Priced at medium. Not crazy, not cheap. You are definitely getting what you are paying for.If it wasn't the popcorn chicken. They would have earned a 5 star. But this gets a 4.3 out of 5. May try again someday.

We had been wanting to try these guys for the longest time since moving to Eastlake a couple months ago. The food here is bomb! Really happy with every dish we ordered. So glad to have a good Asian place nearby without having to go all the way up to Clairemont! Drinks: -Beer on tap: Modelo -$5 bottled Sapporo Apps: -Cucumber salad: smashed cucumbers, tons of minced garlic, soy sauce and vinegar. Def a good idea to order since there aren't many vegetable dishes aside from the fried green beans. Super good and cuts through the rest of the food -Garlic Babyback Ribs: a nice stack of fried ribs. Great garlic flavor and piping hot -Spicy marinated beef: served cold and nice, thick cuts of beef over a bed of julienned cucumber, with even more garlic Mains: -Dandan Noodles with pork: minced pork, sliced cucumbers, all on a bed of noodles and a delicious sauce -Shrimp fried rice: a heaping mound of fried rice and succulent and plentiful shrimp. I typically don't get rice with my meals but def a welcome addition to the meal this time Small place but really friendly service and delicious food. Happy to add these guys to our local Eastlake Rolodex!

Came here for lunch, great device. Very attentive. Food came out in a timely manner. Popcorn chicken- I do not recommend. My son didn't like it. He wanted noodles but he doesn't eat spicy. So I asked if they could make a plain soup with noodles. Which they accommodated and I just added more noodles to my beef rib soup.Garlic baby ribsSoda is unlimited refills(not can)I would order everything again except popcorn chicken.

We have been looking for a good dumpling spot in SD for a while! We've tried a few places and weren't impressed. However, we were pleasantly surprised by JCK. The restaurant is small however, we came after opening on a weekday and were seated immediately. Spicy Wontons - super flavorful, my favorite dish of our meal here. We did add some chili oil and it was perfect. Beef rib noodle soup - it had decent flavor, I added some soy sauce and a scoop of chili oil and it really enhanced the flavor. I thought the beef rib was going to be more meaty, however it was mostly cartilage and fat. Next time I will just get the regular beef noodle soup. Our server was nice and attentive! The food came out quickly. We definitely will be back and will try their other foods as well!

Hidden Gem in a Chula Vista Neighbor!!! This place has a limited menu, but what they serve, they make very well!!! Away from Convoy/Mira Mesa area, but one of the best places in San Diego. First was the Chili Wontons. The wonton filling had sone much flavor. Together w the chili broth w garlic and the bite was scrumptious and packed w flavor. And it got better from there. Next was the Beef Rib Noodle Soup. Simply put, the most flavor packed beef soup I have had!!! The broth was dark and soooooo good! The beef rib fell apart. Next were the soup dumplings. Again some of the best Ive had. The soup was seasoned perfectly. Together with the pork/shrimp filling, these dumplings were amazing. JCK specializes in soups and dumplings. They do them better than most. There is a reason why JCK is highly rated. Staff is attentive and friendly! Inside is small and plain, but they make up for the ambiance with their flavorful food!Go and check this neighborhood gem out!!!

Excellent food! Great service! My favorite dishes were the JCK Pork Soup Dumplings and the Crystal Pan-Fried Pork.

The food was amazing as always, the chili wontons are my favorite. Service is also quick and the ambiance is pretty chill. Similar to Din Tai Fung but much more affordable. :)
