Jake Melnick's Corner Tap

I needed a place for a late night bite and Jake Melnick's popped up after a YELP search. They are known for their chicken wings and smash burger. I was set on the wings, but I had a change of heart when I arrived.The smash burger was down right delicious! I will say I should've only gotten one patty, two was too much! The burger was perfectly seasoned, garnished with lettuce, tomato, onion and a nice amount of cheese. To complement the burger, it was paired with a mound of mouthwatering house made fries.Service was kind of slow! My friend and I sat on the patio, enjoying the night breeze and city sounds. This is definitely one of my new Chicago favorites and it's most definitely in the rotation from now on!

Feel like we need to be talking about how good these wings are a bit more. Why are we ignoring this place people!?!?! Jimi did for far too long. Shame. Shame. Shame. 5 stars

Came here for a quick lunch to break up some shopping. I had a hankering for buffalo wings so decided to give this place a try. They were a little short staffed when I arrived and were having trouble turning tables over. I was still sat relatively quickly, which was nice. I ordered the Moonshine Tea, Buffalo Wings (mix of mild and spicy) and tater tots. The tots were hot and crispy, which I love. The wings were good, too, although I wish the blue cheese dipping sauce was less watery. The service was meh but I don't know if that's because they were short staffed. This is a very casual place and the ambience reflected that. However the prices don't. I don't almost $60 for my meal, which is too expensive for what I got.

Went on a sunday evening, wasn't too busy, maybe because of the rain? Good bar food, was in the mood for some good ol' fried food. Which they have all the options to choose from. Service was a little slow, and server also forgot to input my drink order. So I ended up canceling my drink. It's definitely a local spot with lots of TVs to watch the any game.

Fantastic apps, burgers, wings and great service! Would definitely come back and these were the best wings I have had in a long time!

I haven't been to Jake Melnick's in years, but have always bragged about their nachos. So being back in Chicago, I had to stop here. I experienced some nacho sadness, not going to lie. Jake, let's get a little real here. You used to have this mound of nachos. Appealing to the eye and the stomach. Part of the magic was that cheese was melted between the layers. Not just shredded, but shredded and queso layered in between. I know it's been a while, but Jake what happened that made you so deflated in life? You are not the same as I remember you. You are less than half of what you used to be just laying there all flat on baking sheet. With only the oversauced bbq version of yourself still available. It's not too late Jake, you can become the nachos you used to be. When you find old yourself, let me know and we can get together again.Still giving you 4 stars, everything else from the BBQ to the service is all there. I believe in you.

Standard BBQ eats with decent value. Heard the wings are recommended, however I didn't realize this till after--so on my next visit.

The Smash Burger was super! The wings sounded better than it tasted. I took one bite and asked for some of my husband's burger and fries. I didn't touch the wings the rest of the night and didn't take it home either. I knew I wouldn't eat it.Our server was not attentive at all. He walked back and forth a lot, and we waited to see if he would bring the beer my husband ordered. He did not -- he forgot. The Buffalo chicken dip was really good, but it tasted just like the one I make at home.

Amazing wings, well seasoned and dressed and smoked to perfection. Service was fast. Great drink selection as well.

Well, this place is okay. Not my favorite.Honest review: I like mules but here I didnt like it. My husband tried too and he has the same opinion. The ambience is good, lots of space to sit so good thing is you dont reservation, though it is loud there. We took wings. We just like one sauce there i e. Fire cracker. The alcohol is expensive too. service was just okay.
