We've been to Wicked Barley several times and always have a great experience. It's our go-to spot to celebrate Christmas Eve with friends. On our recent visit, my husband ordered the BELT Croissant sandwich. It consists of bacon, eggs, lettuce and tomato. We both enjoyed it, and yes, we always share! :) As for me, I got the Shrimp & Grits, it was tasty, but the portion is on the smaller side, good thing my husband had fries or I would've been hungry still lol. For drinks, I really liked the "I HOPE THEY SERVE THIS IN HELL" Imperial IPA, one of the best tasting IPA's I have tried! Hubby always order the cider and Happy Medium did not disappoint! With amazing craft beers, good food, fast service, fantastic views and kid friendly, what more could you ask for?!

Why I'll go back: Creative toppings make the burgers on the menu an enjoyable change from the typical burger jointYou HAVE to order: a pintTony's Tip: they have three different types of aioli that you can ask for with your fries. Do them all!Brother-in-law took me to this spot yesterday, as we were visiting my wife's fam in Jacksonville. It's a burger-forward brewery with a lively atmosphere that welcomes kids, though it's really an adult hangout. Bright place with a nice back patio and about ten seats at the bar, which is deep and comfortable to eat at if you can get a seat. We couldn't, but the table was comfortable and spacious. TVs all the way around as well. Great assortment of burger combinations, which are also infinitely customizable from there, plus a wide range of hearty appetizers and salads. Plus, at least a couple dozen beers on tap. Service was super friendly too. They seem to understand the formula.Starting with brews, I had Bob's Wit to start - a wheat beer with a slightly sweet undertone. Very smooth, no bitterness. Followed that up with the Geoffrey, which was a double stout combo of coffee and chocolate. Absolutely delicious and paired well with my burger. Drinker beware - it has an 8.3% ABV. Had a nice buzz just from these two by the time we left.As for the food, the burgers are 8 oz. with your choice of sides, so we skipped starters, but they looked tasty and interesting (kimchi pork belly fries, lager cheese curds, fried pickles, pork rinds, etc.). Hard to choose amongst an interesting mix of burgers (Curd burger, Wake N' Bake with sundried tomato, bacon, and sunny side egg, Fillmore smash burger). I went with The Randy, which was a classic with American cheese, pickles, onions, but then smothered with a decadent beer cheese that evolves the entire taste of the burger. After one attempt at the two-handed approach, this was one of the rare times I chose to eat it with a fork and knife - but it still held together well. Also, kudos to Wicked for offering brioche and pretzel buns, which I'd argue are the two best options for a burger.I'd be remiss if I didn't give a nod to the fries, which were crispy on the outside, but still tender inside. Plus, you can request sides for dipping of three aioli sauces: lemon, garlic, and chipotle. They're all fantastic, so request the trio of them.We got out of there for about $80 including tip. In my typical 'hoods of Boston or Palm Beach, this would have easily run over $100. So, no complaints there either. I would totally go back to this place (this week???). Check it out next time you're in the area. And Merry Christmas fellow Yelpers!

Wicked Barley - 10/31/24https://wickedbarley.com/TLDR Overall Scores:Beer: 8.1/10Venue: 6.5/10Worth a visit? Absolutely, but parking may be a challenge at peak times.Number of visits: 10 (2023-2024)The Beer: Beer quality is excellent, with varied styles. On my last visit, they had fruit beers, sours, wheat, cider, multiple IPAs, seltzer, and a few dark beers. Over 20 beers on tap, so you're sure to find something that you like, and beer flights are available. They put some effort into naming and board artwork, which is cool. The Venue: It's clean, open, and well-maintained, with inside tables, bar seating, and outside seating. It can get loud when busy. Restrooms are easily accessed by the entrance and are generally clean and in working order. Location is fairly safe and easily accessed (right off Baymeadows (R-152) and close to San Jose Blvd (R-13). Parking can an issue. The size of the parking lot does not support the venue, and just because the lot is full doesn't mean that there aren't seats available inside. In addition, there isn't a shared lot with other businesses, so if you park down a side street then you're going to have to walk a little bit or try to cross Baymeadows. Good luck with that. Try to hit off-peak times if you are not familiar with the area, so that you're not disappointed.Staff has been hit or miss for us. Generally, they seem pretty knowledgeable and about average when it comes to service. Occasionally, they've been pretty entertaining. Once, we had a server tell us, "Oh no, don't order that, it's awful." Which, ok...so why is it on your menu? Is it because you have new kitchen staff? Statements like that just spawn so many other questions. Still, I do appreciate the warning. Another time, bar staff was just plain rude and inattentive from the moment we walked in. Next visit, they were awesome. So, it depends what you are looking for and your level of expectation. Family friendly? Yes, absolutely.Pet friendly? Yes, absolutely.Cans / Crowlers? Both are available, with a cooler hosting several varieties on the way out the door.Brewery on site? Yes, with a glass wall so you can get a good peek at where your beer is made. The freshest beer only has to travel a few feet.Food availability? Burgers, wings, sandwiches, tacos, etc. I haven't really had a bad meal here. Food quality is above your average bar. You can view the menu via their website.Reservations? No, but they do private events.Events: They do events, and have some things posted and listed at the venue. At time of publish, the Calendar link on their website was broken (404 error).Me (why my reviews are possibly relevant): 20+ years beer experience in brewing, beer judging (BJCP), brewing instruction, and bar / restaurant service.

We ended up making a last minute change of plans due to being rained out from our initial venue. Wicked Barley was having their fall festival so we went to check it out and to grab a bite to eat. They had a number of vendors and pumpkins for purchase and decorating, which was a hit with the kids. The wait for a table was long but people sampled some of their beers and cocktails as we waited. They had seating both outside under tents and in their usual dining room. Once seated, we ordered burgers, wings, pretzel, pork rinds, and a kids hot dog. The food was good. The pork rinds were a bit spicy for me but they were nicely fried and crunchy. The burgers were well cooked and the kids hot dog, albeit plain, was a hit.I would return to Wicked Barley for more of their events and for simple, bar bites.

This is our third or fourth time here. Here's the low down:Good: laid back atmosphere, bar food (we really love the pretzels with beer cheese), large beer selection, servers are friendly. Indoor and outdoor seating, picnic tables are under tents, dogs welcome (BIG plus), cornhole, dock for boat parking Bad: parking lot is small. Oktoberfest was not as exciting as other places

Wicked barely OK, let me just get it out of the way and save the one negative that I think everybody knows is the parking situation. It can become horrible. Now on to the goodness, my last visit was on the weekend for lunch with a few friends. The weather was nice so we decided to enjoy the outdoor seating we were greeted by our server who was very, happy and inviting to the restaurant. We all sort of did a family-style meal where we ordered the wicked burgers along with the spicy Jerk wings the Kimishi pork belly fries, hummus platter, pretzel, Thai curry, chicken tacos, and wrap-it-up fried pickles. The staff was amazing, which included the host servers and bartenders. They were always paying attention to our table. Warning*** but no need to panic, If there is an event going on, be ready to wait a bit for a table, and in doing so you can grab a beer or drink from the bar while you wait and enjoy the back patio, one of my favorites is that they have all-new types of beer, including ciders which I can only drink. The outdoor area is also pet-friendly.

Went here after a long day with my family. Very good ambiance especially in the back area. They have a dock that you can walk out on and even a place where you could park a boat. They also have a little sand area. The service was well, we had a group of 22 and it was very well managed and quick. The food was also very good. I was not very hungry so i had the pickle chips. If you are looking for a nice place to go i recommend this place.

Came here on a weekend for lunch, nicely laid out and plenty of room, also has a lot of outside seating. Greeted by our male server who was Johnny on the spot. We ordered and shared a Wicked Burger along with Spicy Asian wings and 2 pale ales. The wings had a bizarre taste, just different. They were just okay. I should have read the menu closer because the wicked burger doesn't come with cheese, my bad for not catching it. It too was just okay. We ordered medium but it came out well. Tried the collard greens which were seasoned well but again were just okay nothing to put it over the top. The food was just okay nothing to make me come back for more.
