Whiskey Jax

Like that they have local brews on tap. Nice bartenders who were very attentive. Never waiting on an empty mug.

Whiskey Jax is very convenient for me to visit since I live right down the street, so when I feel like "going out" I usually walk over to Whiskey Jax. Some would say it's a dive bar, but it's a bit nicer than that. Trust me, I love a good dive bar and this bar is a little more classy than that. There are usually bands during the weekend, some are very good and some not so much; but it's great to have live music when going out. The drinks are great and they make them strong. They also have a great selection of craft beers on draft. The food here is pretty good too. I have had the shrimp & artichoke dip, hamburger, and been to brunch a couple of times. I wish during brunch they had a bloody mary bar; they do have unlimited mimosas I think. The staff here is wonderful. The owner is nice and the bartenders are super attentive at keeping your glass full. The crowd here is a bit older; and that's coming from a 50 year old. lol. But it's a lot of fun. You'll always find someone interesting to talk to.

I got there when it opened so some of the menu options wasn't available. Not a bad thing but just don't get there too early. Chicken Nachos, ok, large portion size, can definitely feed 2 off the one order. Definitely a festive looking dish to enjoy on Taco Tuesday. A lot of meat, great. Seasoned enough to not raise your blood sugar or blood pressure but not enough seasoning to have the taste of an authentic Mexican dish equivalent.

Averting the storm, we sailed into Whiskey Jax. I am so glad we did. Bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary Sundays was on the top of our list. Server was attentive but there was not lot to compete with. The bar was full. For a quaint time and a place to get personable with your peeps, Whiskey Jax is spot on.

Let me start by saying that it takes really good food and great service for me to give a five star review.I went on a Thursday evening for a happy hour with friends from work. Whiskey Jacksonville has a happy hour that goes from 4 to 7. It's not the best happy hour ($1 off beers) but it's not bad. Trivia also starts at 7 on Thursday and although there was no one in the restaurant when we arrived at 5:30 most of the tables were reserved for people who did not show up until around 7.We had starters. We tried the wings, the avacado fries, the chicken nachos and the fried green tomatoes. Everyone liked their dishes. No one thought they were great. There were only two waitresses so service was average. The portions sizes were good and the appetizer are shareable by two people.The place did fill up around 7:00 with trivia teams. There were only a few tables open after 7:00. There is outdoor seating but no one was sitting outside and it was a great night.

First time going to Whiskey Jax. The waitress was very nice and helpful. The drinks are really good. Out of four drinks they all were on point.The food is okay, depending on what you're ordering. Friday nights are their live band, which we were unaware of. This spot is predominantly white mid 30's to 60's. Not a mix crowd at all. Not completely sure why....I did feel a little rushed to leave after paying the bill.

Fun late night burgers and beer in Jax beach. Very divey interior. I sort of like that though, no complaints there. Bathroom was a bit nasty though.

Whoever hires the band's at this place should be fired! They are all the same old washed up wanna-be's 55 plus, that play lousy songs and were probably no better when they were in their twenties! Food is overpriced with small portions. Much better venues in Jax than this place. Parking lot is small as well!

Food was fantastic! Also enjoyed the prickly pear margarita. Our waitress Hanna did a great job. My only complaint would be that the live band was too loud. We sat in a booth and couldn't hear each other from across the table. I even moved to the same side of the booth as the other person and we still had to yell in each other's ear.

They need to be more consistent on making the old fashion here. Sometimes it's good and others it's not. Depends on who is working
