Great atmosphere, decorated really nice. I would recommend a larger variety of food. My Rigatoni pasta needed more flavoring, it tasted like something a kid could eat. My husband loved his Fondue burger!

Oh my Goodness, now this is what i am talking about ! if anyone knows me i am a Huge Foodie , Been myself in the Food industry my Whole Life. In a world when so many places come short on experience's and Customer service, this was a nice treat . So the whole experience is very important to me. My son recommended Whisky Cake to Us, because he's like his mama, he also is a foodie . This new restaurant had only opened two months ago. Such a cool atmosphere. Everything we had was phenomenal, I'm a pork chop fan it did not disappoint. it was a huge portion , very juicy , very flavorful. The crafted drinks were unique and freshly made with fresh garnishes. the appetizers, especially the brussels sprouts are to die for. We ate every single thing we ordered and everyone at the table raved about it all. to top it off what they're known for, the only dessert on the menu, and i see why is the whiskey cake. It was incredible !! Topped off with Caramel and homemade whipped cream, but most of all I wanna give a shout out to Alley , she rounded off the whole experience. She was extremely knowledgeable about everything, the history of the restaurant, everything she liked on the menu, everything she described in great detail . I was in Awe and so impressed with Allie, what a Cutie and very Positive. Corporate needs to really appreciate this delightful young lady. She made it such a incredible experience. We definitely will tell people about this place and will be back soon, but don't take my word for it. Come and try it out for yourself you will not be disappointed.

Great interior, the style was very western, vintage and rustic. Beautiful beams in a the ceiling and good feeling mood of paint. Unfortunately probably due to it being the day after valentines it was packed at seven pm. Definitely having a reservation helped, got our seats within minutes of checking in, too bad our table was next to the kitchen entrance. The hustle and bustle there was far too loud so we requested a quieter table. Again within a few minutes we were seated more towards the back, much better. We ordered the green tomatoes and deviled eggs as appetizers. Honestly both ended up being better than the entrees. I had the sirloin steak medium rare with mashed potatoes and aioli sauce, the sauce was the best part. The steak was very mediocre easy to get anywhere else. She had the salmon, it was very very rich, smoky and fatty. The entire meal was just good. Unfortunately I'd say Whiskey Cake is just a very one and done kinda of place. Wish I had taken more pictures

They have done a great job of remodeling and it's very business casual ambiance, perfect for lunch with colleagues or clients. The menu has a decent selection and our food was good. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.

A good meal Got there early before the dinner rush. Music is a bit loud in the back room. We ordered our appetizers and dinners The appetizers came out in short order. The fried green tomatoes were good. So we're the duck wings, and a bit spicy. Our entrees came out before we finished our appetizers. I wish restaurants wouldn't do that. It makes the meal feel rushed. Since the restaurant was pretty empty even when we left, no reason to rush out the meals. Both the beet salad and fish and Chips were very good We finished with a shared whiskey cake. That is delicious.A good meal in a good atmosphere. Maybe lower the music and don't rush the food out.

When we heard Ida Claire was closing we were so bummed as it was a restaurant we went to regularly. It always seemed busy and well received and we didn't really see the need for a renovation or concept change. The menus looked somewhat similar although definitely less of a southern emphasis with whiskey cake. The interior while nice, I felt was a step back from Ida Claire. Less interesting and more sterile. That's not to say it's unpleasant, just by comparison it seemed lacking. We started with one of their craft cocktails and tried two of their appetizers. All three were extremely expensive given the quantity and presentation. I had the little rye lies and while it was a straightforward cocktail, I will say it tasted great and seemed adequate to strong. The flash fried Brussels were small but had a great taste and were extremely flavorful. The goat cheese fondue had a table side presentation that was kind of awkward and turned the pretty dish in to kind of a slop. Initially the taste was ok, but after further mixing to evenly disperse the garlic it actually was also really good. For lunch we had the golden beet salad and the French onion burger. My wife said the golden beet salad was good, sweet and a little spicy. The French onion burger was delicious and an interesting concept that I really enjoyed. We finished with the namesake whiskey cake which was also delicious. Very sweet but still highly recommended.Service was average. It was kind of slow getting our apps and drink even though they weren't very busy. I saw my cocktail sit on the bar for at least five minutes after our first app arrived. The second app came out long after the first one was finished. Our lunch came out to over $100 for two people with only one drink which I thought was kind of crazy given its position as a middle of the road restaurant. They also annoyingly have the square payment system where they stand there while you decide if you want to tip them 20% or more on the after tax amount. We would definitely return but won't be rushing back for weekly visits like we did for Ida Claire.

Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar at St. Johns Town Center is a standout destination for farm-fresh comfort food and craft cocktails. With a commitment to sourcing local ingredients and a menu made entirely from scratch, this inviting restaurant strikes the perfect balance between elevated dining and approachable charm. The warm, rustic decor complements the "farm-to-fork" philosophy, while the impressive Whiskey Wall boasts over 200 spirits, making it a haven for cocktail enthusiasts. But what truly steals the show is their namesake dessert--the Whiskey Cake. This sticky toffee cake with fresh dates, spiced pecans, bourbon anglaise, and a cloud of house-made whipped cream is nothing short of decadent. Fun fact: the whipped cream is prepared every 30 minutes to guarantee peak freshness and flavor!During our visit, we were treated to exceptional service from Vito and a behind-the-scenes tour with Ethan, showcasing the passion and attention to detail that define Whiskey Cake. The food and drinks did not disappoint, including: * Jessica Wabbit: A refreshing mix of local mint, carrot, lime, pineapple, pineapple-ginger simple syrup, and Fever-Tree ginger beer. * Ruby Slippers: A vibrant blend of strawberry, basil, agave, and lemon. * Roasted Garlic Hummus: Creamy and flavorful with za'atar spice, olive oil, vegetable crudité, and grilled flatbread. * Wood-Grilled Salmon: Perfectly cooked and served with heirloom tomatoes, cucumber, toasted ciabatta, parsley, garlic, and a touch of lemon and olive oil. * Chicken & Waffle: A hearty dish featuring crispy chicken tenders, a malted waffle, sunny-side-up eggs, maple syrup, and country gravy. * And of course, Whiskey Cake--an indulgence worth every bite! The stunning ambiance, thoughtful menu, and top-notch hospitality make Whiskey Cake an absolute must-visit. Thank you to the team for an unforgettable experience--we can't wait to return! 10209 River Coast Drive, St. Johns Town Center 904-990-5940Follow them on Instagram: @whiskeycake

Whiskey Cake at St. Johns Town Center is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The service was exceptional--huge thanks to our server, Vito, who was attentive and knowledgeable, and to Ethan for giving us a tour of the space. The food was incredible, with everything made from scratch and bursting with fresh flavors. We loved the Roasted Garlic Hummus, Wood-Grilled Salmon, and the indulgent Chicken & Waffle, but the star of the show was their signature Whiskey Cake--a sticky toffee cake masterpiece that's worth every bite!Their drink menu is just as impressive. The Jessica Wabbit and Ruby Slippers were refreshing and delicious. The ambiance, attention to detail, and quality of food and drinks make Whiskey Cake a standout dining experience. We will definitely be back!If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and check them out--you won't regret it!
