Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse

The best Chirashi I've ever had! Premium selections from the talented sushi chef with expert preparation. Absolutely delicious! My husband ordered the House Udon which was huge and satisfying with shrimp, mushroom, imitation crab, fish cake, and probably more. I'm going by what I saw in his bowl. I did try the broth which was light and delicate but flavorful. He loved it and cleaned out the entire bowl. He commented the mushrooms (shiitake maybe) were the best he's ever had. We almost passed on this place because of the instant musty smell from carpet throughout the restaurant. So glad we decided to dine here. Staff is friendly and our server checked on us often and was very personable. Best fresh sushi, fish, and noodles! If we lived in the area we'd dine here regularly!

I came here with family and friends to celebrate my birthday. It was my first time here and I can say that everything was perfect! The food was absolutely amazing and was a huge portion for the price! I got the steak & scallops hibachi and it came with soup, salad and veggies as well. Our hibachi chef was absolutely hilarious and made the entire experience so enjoyable for everyone in the family. He even wrote "22" in sauce on the rice and stuck a candle in it for me haha! It is nicely decorated in the restaurant as well. I would definitely recommend coming here and will be returning soon myself!

Hungry. That's what I was before my friends decided to choose Wasabi for lunch. I'm vegetarian so sometimes it's harder for them to find a place where everyone in a group of 10-15 people is pleased. Wasabi was pretty good and I felt fulfilled. It didn't take them long at all to get us seated and the food was very prompt. The portion sizes are always good and they are accommodating to most request. I do believe my food could've been a little more seasoned honestly.Overall a good experience and I would go back when I crave it again.

Went to a holiday meal with my team from work. There were 12 of us and the restaurant was very accommodating. Our waitress was very new and a little bit frazzled, but did her absolute best. Our chef more than made up for it with his wit and showmanship. I've never been to a hibachi restaurant that had sweet carrots as part of the meal and now realize what hi was missing. That little bite of sweet offset the salty and savory of the rest of the meal. When the cook was giving out the mushrooms, he didn't have enough for everyone and ran out right before he got to me, which left my wife and daughter (who both love mushrooms) without any. The failure to portion the mushrooms for a group of that size is a bit of a failure on the kitchen prep group. For the price, Wasabi was a solid choice in flavor, quantity, and entertainment.

Would give this a 3.75. Much better than many hibachi places we have been too, and less sticky as so many are.Service- Hibachi cook was great, wait staff was almost nonexistent. One plate was dirty upon arrival, so we had to chase someone down to switch it out.Food- It was a Tuesday, so seated right away around 6. Our food was cooked pretty quickly afterwards. Huge portions, but also huge prices. For 4 adults and 4 kids it was over $300 before tip. I know you pay for the 'show', but while good it was pretty short as well.We had the shrimp and filet, kids had either shrimp or chicken teriyaki. There was a good deal of protein on each plate and an overwhelming amount of rice. Would be great if half options were offered, as it was pretty wasteful. It was for a birthday and he made the rice into a cake with a candle for us to sing, which was a nice touch- bumped up overall eating for this.

$$$Descent Food. Service is slow and lacking for a Japanese restaurant. It lacks the kindness friendliness and efficiency of a true Japanese experience. The atmosphere is akin to a cafeteria. Drinks come in plastic cups. More of a gett'm in and gett'm out kind of place.A little pricey for what you get. You can get the same thing at Panda Express for a lot less money.

The food is AMAZING. Im shocked how many people are disappointed. I dont recommend eating at the booths in the front. But their hibachi is the best in jacksonville. It's always packed at dinner time!

I don't know why Wasabi has 3 stars but it deserves 5. I took my kids here for lunch & we all enjoyed the experience as well as the food. I tend to compare every hibachi restaurant to Arigato Steakhouse in Greensboro, NC. I travel a good bit & I don't care where I've gone nothing has topped Arigato or even came close. So, normally I'm one visit and done. But, Wasabi was definitely a very strong second & I absolutely will be returning!

Updated review after revisiting a few more times. Definitely the best Hibachi & sushi in town, and I come here whenever I crave sushi or habichi steak! A good place to celebrate a good time with friends and family at the grill, or the sushi tables are good if you want a quick meal. Service is fast and attentive.

The service from the waiter Aahan was horrible. The chef was dull and didn't want to talk or do anything. The food wasn't that good, the salad was watery, and the rice was salt. The overall service was not good and i do not recommend going to this Wasabi.
