Really enjoyed this place. We came super early to avoid the crowd -turns out it was a good call! I order spicy tuna at every sushi restaurant to benchmark how good it is and this ranked up at the top. Everything was super fresh. Only drawback was it was really pricey so it wouldn't be something we could do often.

Wasn't too busy at lunch time and was seated quickly. Started with a French Blueberry cocktail. Was yummy. Not too sweet with blueberries and a lime. Then I ordered the combination hibachi with shrimp and steak with fried rice. The flavor was good with a soy sauce taste. My friend ordered Panang chicken spicy with steam rice. Said it was flavorful. We both had the clear soup to start and it was good. Then we shared a tempura ice cream. First time trying this dessert and it was so delicious. I would love to have it again. The restaurant is clean and wait staff very friendly. Lunch prices are really reasonable. Will have to visit again to post some pics.

Overall was a good experience. Our waiter was on top of refills and constantly checked on our table. We had no wait, were seated immediately and the food was prepared correctly and came out quietly.

A unique dining experience for St Johns area. We sampled both the Thai and sushi. Started with the Green Phoenix. Tenderized spicy tuna wrapped in avocado. Delicious and the vinegar based sauce paired with it perfectly. The red curry chicken hot all the notes you expect: The spicy pop of curry, the smooth creaminess of the coconut milk, and a delicious assortment of vegetables. Wrapped up this delicious meal with a Monster Roll. A shrimp tempura and cream cheese delight. There is a full bar, reasonably priced cold beer and an interesting selection of specials. Could be a three or four star review honestly. Staff was friendly and the place was clean. Prices were good for sushi. We got the spicy tuna, Philadelphia and spicy scallop rolls. The rolls were good but not impressive. The salmon and tuna seemed like they were sent through a blender and had no texture. Overall the sushi was OK. Not bad. Not great.

We used to like this place a lot but I feel quality has gone down a little. Maybe my tastes have changed but it's my honest opinion. It's still part of the rotation but frequency has been reduced. The food is acceptable and I definitely feel more comfortable with this food vs. the local Chinese places in the area. We seem to be seeing more and more reports of those places and their kitchen "issues."Anyway, Wakame does have an extensive menu - maybe too many options - so most all is done ok but I don't think anything is done extremely well. When you offer sushi, Thai, hibachi, and almost any other Asian food you can think of.......well you get where I'm going.

Overall great restaurant and very well run. The wait staff is good and we go there almost every other week for some good sushi and hibachi. The wait staff id attentive and top of your water or drinks on time..Great ambience and good environment. The rest rooms are reasonably clean and well stocked in the back of the restaurant. The only point I think for dinner the lighting is fluorescent daylight and feels like you are in a Walmart for dinner. I would update the lighting for a restaurant if this class and great food.

Start with the good part.. great service. Very attentive waitress who tried hard to make it better. Now the food.. I eat Asian several times a week and have never had more tasteless curry ever. I ordered it native hot and it was not even spicy in the least bit. It resembled a soup even after i dumped all the rice in it to try and dry it up. Looked like it was made with water not a hint of coconut thickness. Sushi appetizer was decent. Wife's pad Thai was edible but nothing special. TheMenu is too big for them to make it all good.. reminds me of Fridays back in the day... yuk!
