Voo Swar Restaurant & Lounge

It's been a while since I visited Voo Swar. I heard on Thursdays that Lewis famous "Pork Chop Sandwich" is on special. I bellied up to the bar in their famous barstools (iykyk) ordered a beer and waited for my bff. "B" was the bartender. Bobby Womack, Sam Cooke and BB King played on the jukebox. Voo Swar is deep in history. It's definitely worth a visit!

This place is amazing when it comes to great times and good food! I would tell you first and foremost to come Tuesday nights for the free Comedy Show aka the Vooswar Open mic!! Nothing is better than good laughter with great drinks, and the best food on the beach!

Been here several times but I've only eaten their wings, fries, &/or tator tots each visit.- Wings 5/5 (tried it plain, lemon pepper rub, & Cajun dry rub...all good).- Fries 4/5, not a fan of crinkle cut but maybe would've liked it more if I added cheese...next time.- Tots 5/5, plain or loaded, you'll enjoy them since they're made to order.Lady behind the bar was very nice and always treats us well. She's also the server for the entire restaurant but she definitely manage very well. I'm sure there's more staff for dinner, but I've only eaten here during lunch.A little bit of a wait for the fried chicken wings, understandable as they're always made to order. Would be 5/5 if it wasn't for the location. A little sketchy for me to come at night especially since Mayport road does not have a good history when it comes to criminal activities.I'll definitely keep coming in for lunch though!!

The food here is good. It's made fresh to order. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner this business was passed down to him from his father. Small hidden gem with food , drinks and poolTables

My favorite bar in Jax, hands down. Great beers. Great food. Great live music. Great, friendly service. Amazing historical significance. We are here as much as possible, especially when bands we like are playing live. Located in Atlantic Beach, 5 minutes from our home. Can't be any better. Building is a lot bigger than it looks. Enter into a large bar area and walk back to a huge room with a large stage, 2nd bar, lots of seating and pool tables. They even have an old school, LIGHTED dance floor. Plenty of friendly Atlantic beach and Mayport locals have made us feel welcome since our first time there. I love Vooswar and look for any opportunity to go there.

Had their cheese sticks and fried shrimp basket. Shrimp nice size and fresh, good seasoning. Fries not great. Cheese sticks very tasty. Love the crew and owner - always so friendly. Great band last night.

Wow, places like this are why I write reviews. I thought I'd hit every restaurant on this street, but some joints are just too good at hiding. I ordered the five wings with ten shrimp combo. Everything was relatively on-point. For the wings, I got the something special 45. It's actually just a breaded dry rub, but I really enjoy chicken like this, and they did it quite well. The shrimp were fat and savory. The fries are the thick, ribbed kind, which get screwed up a lot, but these were nice and crispy. Even the toast was great with its parmesan cheese and some secret sauce on top. The secret sauce seems to use a lot of honey, from what I can tell. Service was great too. Besides the food, the atmosphere of this place is interesting. It's a restaurant and lounge, so there's a room past the bar that's much larger than the restaurant section, complete with an area that looks like stage, sound equipment, music players, etc. At night, this morphs into a different business, and it's been suggested that someone like me would need a sponsor/escort if I came to check it out. ?????????

I've been trying to find a good little "hole in the wall" wing place since I've move to Jacksonville and I think I've found it. The food is cooked to order so it's a little wait of you don't call ahead but it's definitely worth it. I've been twice in one week and intend to keep going back. Lady at the front counter is very pleasant. Wings and Fries were AMAZING!!!! My bf loved the loaded fries as well!

Ordered some wings for a happy hour I was hosting. They were delicious!! Staff was extremely friendly as well. Would definitely recommend.

Place was great music was fire food was good and people were fun. Will definitely come back
