Cooper's Beach "the Coop" Beach volleyball matches held on Saturday March 13 required face mask for everyone at all times even though it is OUTSIDE. Meanwhile the Port a potties are the only facilities offered for a restroom and there is NO hand sanitizer provided anywhere. So the one evidence based practice that actually works is no where in sight. Spread the E. coli everywhere but thank God we all have useless face mask on.

I've been to a couple of basketball games and a couple of volleyball games here. This is a really nice, large, clean college arena. I'm very impressed with how well-maintained they keep it. The seating they have above the bleachers is great. Very comfy seating. Even going above the bleachers to the comfy seats, you're still getting a great view. It's nice to have this seating option because bleachers can become uncomfortable very quickly. They have a nice concession stand with pretty decent prices. The bookstore is also right across from the arena.... I've popped over there during a game to grab snacks too.Parking can be a really big 'ole pain in the buttocks! Then again, parking at UNF is always that way. So have patience where that is concerned. Try to arrive early to games to allow time for finding parking and then making the hike to the arena (there's a good chance you'll have to park some distance away).Make sure to bring cash for tickets and concessions... they do not accept credit cards.Kudos to UNF for such a great arena!

The University of North Florida Arena was a great venue for a large event we had recently! This Arena is back behind the Hodges Stadium and it was a little bit of a walk from the parking area to this location in mid day Florida sun, but this was to be expected as this is a college campus. There is parking that is closer to this facility, but that was reserved for students who had parking permits. The Arena had an extremely nice, spacious interior and as a result we easily were able to move through the throngs of people able to ascend the stairwell to the top seating area of the gym. (There were also elevators to get to this top level as well) The bleachers were hard sturdy plastic and as a result there was no precariously perched feeling once seated. The gym easily accommodated what must have been 2,500 people. There are 4 absolutely gorgeous indoor racquetball courts in this facility as well. These courts had lovely hardwood flooring and glass walls and appeared to be regulation. I did notice locker rooms nearby as well. I do not know what the parameters are to be able to utilize these courts other than being a student at this school, but there was some literature that may have indicated that some sort of league was in effect.

As a Sport Management student at UNF I often found myself in this wonderful arena, whether it was attending class in one of the many classrooms located in the facility or watching a volleyball or basketball game. I often found myself "working" the events, as I was left in charge of checking in players and handing out their allotted family tickets for the basketball games.I even had the pleasure of pouring some of my own sweat onto the court, as I had a couple of courses in which I participated in basketball games and volleyball games. It was quite the wake up call when the teacher for my volleyball class announced we would be playing against the women's volleyball team (oh joy). Being as I'm 6'5" I had the pleasure (or displeasure)of guarding the net. It was an eye-opening experience to say the least. As I was often working the games I didn't often have time to sit in the seating above the bleachers, but I was able to enjoy watching a couple of volleyball games from the bleachers, which were pretty comfortable. The concession prices are reasonable and it's free for UNF students to attend the games with student ID.If you ever have the chance to check out an event at the UNF Arena I highly recommend it!
