Unique Nail Salon

I had been preparing for my graduation trip out to LSU and wanted to get my nails done with more than just simple purple or yellow. Little did I know that the folks at Unique Nail Salon had a Baton Rouge connection as they have family out there. So when I selected yellow and purple polish, they asked why I chose LSU colors. I told them what I was thinking and showed them some designs, and they advised me that gel would be a better bet for what I wanted. Given that it was the Friday before Mother's Day, they were rather busy and I got passed between about 4 different people (3 who worked on the overall mani/pedi and one who did the tiger stripe design for me). This isn't a negative, as the employees were working hard to balance service for all of the customers in the shop. Each person conquered a different part of the mani/pedi and it was all seamless. I appreciate all the techs that worked with me that day, especially given my special request. The added effect of having my nails and toes done added a special touch to my graduation weekend of which I so appreciate!

Love this salon! Very relaxing environment and fair prices. I usually go for gel pedis and am always satisfied with the result :)

Edit - Dana is no longer there, I'm so disappointed. Dana did a great job with my fill-in and pedicure. I've struggled to find a place/person in Jax whose quality of work is consistent. Great staff! My only complaint is parking in that area of San Marco, I will be back!

Loved my service at Unique Nail. It was clean and the staff are so friendly and kind. They were able to squeeze me in as a walk-in and did a beautiful job. Rina gave me a fantastic manicure and was so detail oriented making sure everything was symmetric. I would absolutely come back if I lived in town.

My aunt and I are new to the area. We came from New York and were looking for a good nail salon to trust with our money. These people were great. We called last minute for a mani-pedi, and they fit us right into their schedule. When we got there, everyone was super welcoming and friendly. We even shared some laughs and jokes. There was one girl, whose name I didn't get, who was super funny. I definitely recommend this place. It's very professional but also humorous, and it's very clean. The ladies that helped me and my aunt that were very nice was Dana, Paula , Kathy and Tran

Sarah did my nails and she did an amazing job! Took her time and gave me exactly what I wanted. Kathy did my pedi and she did an amazing job. I was so relaxed. The massage was great and the deluxe pedi is worth the money! Great service all the way around.

Don't go if you use your natural nail only. I had two nails break in week of my visit. The acrylic formula is extremely week

No attention to details. She rushed through and a simple regular manicure looks AWFUL!!! I could had done better myself at home. Not at all worth time and money I spent.

I've been looking for a great nail salon in Jax and finally found one! Sarah did an amazing job, and she was super sweet and speedy to top it off. Will absolutely be back to see Sarah!

First time customer visiting from out of state. Went in for a gel mani and regular pedi. My specialist was nice and friendly. Unfortunately within 10 minutes of being there a different specialist approached me and gave me a hard time for wanting to soak the nail polish of my fingers while my pedicure was being done. She had an attitude and told me that I was going to cause problems and it would take way longer that way... I remained calm and told her it would take the same amount of time if not shorter. She again reiterated that they normally don't do that there and I'm going to cause a problem. I went back to my AirPods and tried to not let that ruin my trip in. Most people getting their nails done expect a certain level of tranquility and relaxation. Not to be berated over something I've been doing at nail salons all over the country for the last 10 years. I fished my nails and left within 30 min before they were scheduled to close. Most nail salons have a policy that if something's wrong to come back and they will fix it for free - unfortunately they were now closed and I leave town tomorrow morning. Upon getting back to my hotel I washed my hands and noticed that half of the gel polish from my right thumb was missing. Upon further inspection I noticed several air holes so to speak on several fingers so that even after a days time when I touch my fingernails they are still "sticky and squishy". Also the mail color appears to be more of a dark blue than a black. Doesn't even match the black pedicure I got which is actually black. Due to this I now am in need of another manicure not even an hour later due to atleast 4 of my fingers being unacceptable. Very dissatisfied overall with this experience and would absolutely not recommend. Not sure if the subpar nails are due to the polish they are using, the light for drying or the application process all I know is I have never had an issue with my nails before.I am out $65 for my manicure (plus a generous tip I left my specialist) in addition to 2 Ubers which were collectively around $50. In addition to this being a complete waste of money I am now going to incur additional expenses in trying to go to another nail salon appointment as well as 2 more Uber rides.
