Read the reviews for this place, was hungry wanting something different so my hubby drove us there. Walked up, a nice gentleman greeted us, told him we're newbies and asked what he would recommend for a burrito, he recommended the jerk burrito which I obliged and my hubby ordered the Baja beef, we also ordered the jerk chicken riblets. Couldn't wait to taste as a young friendly lady completes our order. Friendly man and friendly pretty lady- I wanna slap you both cuz this food is so damn good!!!Riblets- couldn't stop eating them and will return to get more while I'm still here and some for the road home to Atlanta, Ga. Burritos- are large and very good, again we will be getting more tomorrow or Wednesday for sure. I took pictures of the riblets but not the burritos, but will when I return. I hope this food is low in fat if not I'm going to have to walk this off.

Stopped for a quick bite before we headed for our scheduled boat ride downtown. We were greeted pleasantly by the chef who walked us through their short menu. We ordered the jerk chicken platter and 12 jerk chicken riblets. Brief conversation later, we leaned the chef was from NJ too and was a surf instructor at the Asbury park beach. We got talking for a bit.Now for the food, the first bite was quite a pleasant surprise and we thoroughly enjoyed the food. I love the coconut shavings on the jerk chicken, took it another level. The rice platter was great - Spanish rice, jerk chicken, chips, fresh guacamole, avocados and fried plaintains. Quite filling. Overall, I loved the food and their simple menu. They have a table or two right next to the truck. It's the same place as GameStop's parking lot. Quite a truck, hard to miss. Will definitely recommend!

Under new management! The owner, Laura, is amazing. She offers great caribbean inspired food; must visit when in St. Augustine. There are parking spaces available, chairs, tables and there's even a bathroom at the premises. The food was unbelievable, the chicken was super juicy. Everyone should go and try it out!

After several years of stopping in, I'm happy to report that I still enjoy going to Tropi Cali Food Truck for lunch. Rick (owner) and his crew are always friendly and cheerful, the food tastes great, and you get plenty of food for your money.Their new location is in the parking log of the Spencer Recovery Clinic lot on San Marco Blvd. This location doesn't have seating (indoor or otherwise) like the prior location, so this is for pickup only. Note that they get super busy, they do sell out on certain items, and their hours do change. I highly recommend calling and ordering ahead, so you're not standing in line and make sure they're not sold out of the food you want. You can also do a quick check on their Facebook page, as they post their schedule changes and sold-out status there. The food is plentiful and flavorful. I'm a fan of the jerk chicken, so I normally order that in some form. I'll usually order it with a rice or cabbage bowl, or get an order of chicken riblets (trust me!) to go with a green salad I brought from home. They don't really do lettuce salads anymore (it was AWESOME for me when they did). I discovered that today, but they used the vegetables they had on hand to make one. What I received was a larger version of the cabbage bowl, and I had absolutely no problems with that!If you're really hungry, or want to order something you can split in half and eat for two meals, they have a very tasty 14" burrito called the Mamoo. As they say (literally... it's their motto) "Life is better if you have a big burrito!"

i was cruising around the streets of St A today and saw a brightly colored food truck/trailer. Tropi Cali truck was the new place I see. When I pulled up I was a little bit confused. I looked at the truck and I have seen a lot of trucks. Then I look over to the same logo and paint on a building. I looked truck one way building the other. I walked up to the truck and Sam a cute little thing says hey first time ha? Yep can you tell and I looked back at the building. There were a couple of guys enjoying their food and they told everyone that I was in for a treat. I had to ask Sam what up over there? She quickly told me that they have indoor seating and are soon expanding to work out of the building. Now this is a first to me. Now I have heard of truck owners moving into a brick n mortar but never a truck parking in the same lot as their brick n mortar. Now we got to talking and I quickly learned that they have been open for 8-9 months now. They are kind of out of the way but have a very loyal local following. Cool that is always a good thing. Ok small talk over let's go into the food. After learning that I was a newby she told me you have to try the jerk chicken riblets. When she handed it to me I knew right off the bat what it was. The drum section of a chicken wing. But it was full of flavor and super tender. They also had some jerk sauce, shredded coconut, and green onions on top. Really good is the first words that came to mind. Remember we call ourselves Jamamerican having traveled there a bunch of times. I ,over onto the taco side not being hungry enough for a burrito cause I knew that they would be huge. I decided on two tacos. One of shrimp and the other of beef. Both with the works which is cabbage, cilantro, and fresh made salsa. They also came with some chips. I quickly dug into these things soon as a figured out how to get it into my mouth. I will say that they are huge and you better be hungry when you order here. The beef was really good tender and juicy and mixed well with all of the fixing that went a long with them. The shrimp taco was just as big and just as tasty. The shrimp were cooked well and had a bit of heat to them also. I will say that Rick (owner) Sam and Mike are really good folks that just want to serve you some awesome food. So when in St A head a little farther north and they will be on your right. Do it I said so.
