Every golfer dreams of playing TPC Sawgrass. Each March (that still feels weird) we watch The Players, we see the drama, and we marvel at the best golfers in the world. When it comes to public golf resorts in the US, there are only a handful that I think truly fall into the category of "bucket list" territory.* Pebble Beach* Whistling Straits* Bandon Dunes* Pinehurst #2* TPC SawgrassObviously, there are dozens of other fantastic public golf courses out there - but for me, these 5 fall to the top of the list.

Wow! It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and we got to play The Stadium! The course is absolutely beautiful. The greens are fast and hard to judge. A very challenging course. When you make a great shot, you can hear the crowd roar. The employees were all so nice - pro shop, starter, maintenance staff. The bad - cart path only and play was slow but we were playing Sawgrass! It was a Great Day to have a Great Day!

I loved our experiences at TPC Sawgrass and I didn't even play here. If I do play here, I'll leave an updated review. My wife and I were in town for a wedding. I did a poor job planning and foolishly tried to book a last-minute tee time here. Well, maybe not that foolish. People do regularly walk-on same-day at courses like Pebble Beach and the Old Course at St. Andrews. I tried to do the same with The Players Stadium Course and had no luck.Due to wedding-related activities, I was only available to play Friday and Saturday morning tee times if I wanted to finish 18 holes. Earlier in the week, I looked online at available tee times and the only opening was for a 4 o'clock hour single on Friday for $720. On Thursday evening, I went in-person to the golf shop to see if they could get me on somehow, but again, no luck. There hadn't been any cancellations or anything like that.In November 2022, Golf Magazine writer Dylan Dethier tweeted a screenshot of an $840 tee time: https://twitter.com/dylan_dethier/status/1589770644442746885. He said "the greens fee situation at TPC Sawgrass is out of control." He also commented, "they've got some dynamic pricing going on," which I believe to be the case too. The prices include greens fee, cart fee, group forecaddie, and range balls.TPC Sawgrass' prices are the most expensive I've seen. They eclipse Pebble which, at the time of writing this review, charges a $625 non-resort guest greens fee + $50 per person cart fee = $675.I got a few TPC Sawgrass logo items from the golf shop: an Ahead hat ($36), a lululemon Sojourn jacket ($138), and a Peter Millar golf shirt ($99). This is the first golf shop I've seen that carries course-branded lululemon apparel. Jenny and Christie helped us out in the golf shop. Jenny told me that they don't get much lululemon stuff, but what they do get is quite nice. The golf shop was big and well-stocked. They had a great variety of apparel, from traditional to trendy. There were some fun pattern golf shirts I wanted that unfortunately were unavailable in my size (small).TPC Sawgrass is open to the public. You don't need a tee time, restaurant reservation, or any other sort of booking/event to enter the premises. Just let the guard at the gate know you're headed to the clubhouse. We checked out the clubhouse and grounds on a Thursday late afternoon/early evening when the clubhouse's restaurant, Nineteen, had their happy hour going on. They had live music on the lawn and half-off wine and cocktails. It was a fun atmosphere. We walked towards the 18th green, in front of the presentation lawn. A course attendant spotted us, turned his cart around, and approached us. He then asked if we'd like some pictures. How nice. He even let us step on the lawn for photos. His name was William, if I recall correctly. He was older, maybe had on an earpiece, and he looked like he was a starter or marshal. Anyway, he was very welcoming and got some great shots. My wife and I returned the next day to have lunch with our friends on the veranda. It was awesome. You can read more about our experience at the restaurant by going to Nineteen's Yelp page, linked at the bottom of this review. Shout-out to Rolland, Abby, and Maddy. They were fantastic. As soon as you make that turn onto Championship Way, you know you're some place special. The landscaping, grass, etc. is just on another level. As I wrote in my review for the clubhouse (also linked below), I think the only place that I've been to that is on the same level overall is Augusta National. Pinehurst and East Lake come close, but in terms of attention to detail and just how perfect and immaculate everything was, on and off-course, TPC Sawgrass was it. I'm reminded of this tweet from the PGA Tour, showing off the maintenance crew's precision: https://twitter.com/PGATOUR/status/1370447802208239618.The clubhouse is beautiful. TPC Sawgrass offers free tours seven days a week, 9am-4pm. Tours start in the Grand Foyer (main lobby). We did a tour of both the clubhouse and part of the back nine, including the famous finishing holes. We took pictures at the signature 17th hole (island green) and even rode and walked right up to groups playing. Our Storyteller (guide) was Robb Mitchell, a fellow Georgia Tech alumnus. The current clubhouse was designed by a Georgia Tech architect. It opened in time for the 2007 Players Championship. I had an absolute blast exploring the clubhouse, which serves as a sort of mini museum.Other Yelp listings for more specific places at TPC Sawgrass include:* TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse: https://www.yelp.com/biz/tpc-sawgrass-clubhouse-ponte-vedra* The Players Championship (annual flagship PGA Tour event): https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-players-championship-ponte-vedra-beach-3* Nineteen at TPC Sawgrass (clubhouse restaurant): https://www.yelp.com/biz/nineteen-at-tpc-sawgrass-ponte-vedra-beach* The Sawgrass Spa (on-site spa): https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-sawgrass-spa-ponte-vedra-beach

This is an amazing place! I'm not even a golfer and I was very impressed. We came to eat at Nineteen, see separate review for this experience. I was so impressed with all of the history and information that could be found just hanging on the wall. I happened to walk by on my way to the ladies room and it was fun seeing how the course was designed basically on a napkin and scrap of paper. Then to see a golf club displayed from each of the winners of the Players tournament course starting with Jack Nicklaus in 1975. Amazing! Then the Bart Forbes paintings! Oh my goodness- they are absolutely beautiful! So bright and colorful and fun!! The lobby was beautifully decorated for the Christmas holiday. We took a stroll through the golf pro shop, which had lots of clothing items as would be expected. The staff we came in contact with was very friendly. It's a very beautiful golf course and clubhouse!

Absolutely fantastic golfing experience. For many serious golfers, playing TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course, is more than likely on there bucket list. So to be sure, that certainly was the case for me. And now after experiencing the perfectly manicured property I can honestly say it was well worth the wait!! The staff was very friendly, everyone seemed very willing to provide any assistance often times unsolicited. The condition of the course was impeccable, the tee boxes, fairways and the smoothest putting greens that anyone could ask for. There's so much golfing history in the massive clubhouse, please allow time if you can to look around at the history hanging on the walls. To some the price is a barrier, but if you have the opportunity, PLEASE give it a shot, you won't be disappointed!!!

Everything is spectacular and next level! From the club house to the pristine driving range and course. 10/10 on everything. I've played a lot of private courses and nothing can even come close to this. Service is immaculate and the attention to detail is superior. The Valley course was surprisingly hard (fast greens rolling around 12), and the Stadium course was even more gorgeous than I had anticipated. Walk the Stadium course with a caddie if you can- you'll get phenomenal local knowledge/insight on how to navigate the course!

First, the good: Beautiful property, lovely decorations. Everyone was very dressed up for the Christmas Eve buffet! My mother and I were eagerly anticipating the evening and were so excited to try the seven fishes! However, given such a beautiful location in a well known spot, the buffet, which could've been extraordinary, turned out to be on a level a notch below the Golden Corrall. The staff did their best, everyone was so friendly and nice, but they didn't have a whole lot to work with. Please indulge in the attached photos - those martinis were supposed to be extra dry but somehow they got more yellow as the night progressed. The lobster (poor things died for this) were totally rubbery and borderline inedible. There was a strange fish stew reminiscent of clam water with a touch of beef stock. The "raw bar" shrimp were edible and the mignonette was good. However, the oysters were presented very sloppily and some had no actual "oyster" in the shell. The desserts were low effort.Overall, we had a fun night but it was because we were cracking up at these things considering the high cost and fees we paid for the buffet.
