My wife and I were craving Italian tonight so we decided to try this place out. Overall, I'm really happy we did. What intrigued me first was the menu. Lots of classic items which is what I think we both wanted. Something comforting and familiar. They delivered. The menu is extensive and that too was nice. I love the variety of the choices. As far as the restaurant, it's nice and open, it's clean and I liked that it was dimly lit. It made for a comfortable and relaxing experience. Our server was super friendly and helpful, so that too was perfect.Food was delicious. The Saltimbocca was nicely cooked and the Marsala sauce was delicious. The Bleu Filet was also very good. I'm a big Gorgonzola fan and this has enough to interest me, but wasn't overpowering for my wife as we were sharing both entrees. The steak was so flavorful and tender too. We loved both dishes.Service was really slow, but the evening was so nice that we really didn't care. Our salads were pretty basic and boring, but they were good. Just lettuce, croutons and some Caesar dressing. We got two garlic rolls but they ran out so we didn't get more (no biggie.)We were there close to two hours, which is an inordinate amount of time, but we left full and happy, but also well taken care of. It's just obvious that they were short staffed and that's perfectly understandable in today's crazy Covid world. We'd definitely come back though.

I was excited to try this place as my family and I dinned here for my cousins birthday. I'll start with the positives, they were very accommodating for our large party size and seemed busy for a Saturday night. The waitress was energetic and nice and the rest of the staff were very helpful. The food is what made the review not the best. Italian food is my favorite so I'm highly critical. If the food isn't close to what I experienced in Italy... I don't want it. Here I ordered the meatballs and marinara sauce, which unfortunately tasted like frozen meatballs that were thawed and then warmed. The marinara sauce was good. The bruschetta was slices of bread with diced tomatoes and balsamic glaze. There was nothing particularly special about it and I missed the mozzarella and garlic that I'm used to experiencing when I order this dish. I also ordered a glass of Prosecco which took about 20min to arrive and arrived room temperature and flat (very minimal bubbles). The rest of my family ordered entrees and had very similar experiences with their food being okay but not great. I can appreciate the service and the idea of this place but the kitchen leaves much to be desired. Outside of my drink the rest of the cocktails my family seemed to enjoy so my recommendation is to check out the bar for happy hour

This is a wonderful little gem hidden in a strip center where Hendricks and San Jose split on the south end of Miramar. The decor is charming and the service is excellent. On our most recent visit John was our waiter. He was a world class professional. Exceptionally attentive to every detail. The food is always excellent. Whether you have pizza, a cup of soup or a full taste of Italy, it is always exceptional. You can never go wrong eating here.

My last review of this restaurant was in 2017. My expierience this time was a little different. I ordered a "to-go" item. The spaghetti bolognese is always my go to dish here. When I ordered it, they said it'd be 15 minutes. I arrived 20 minutes later and then sat at the entrance and waited 20 more minutes. The place was empty except for one table with two ladies seated; looking over the menu, so I was puzzled about the wait time. The gentleman in the front asked me several times if I wanted a drink or more items. Since I sat for such a long time, I gave in and added the bruschetta appetizer to my order. BIG mistake. If you look at my picture you'll see the 3 small pieces of mushy bread with a drizzle of balsalmic and some cut tomatoes. *$@ When I finally got the spaghetti and took it home; it was o.k. They put a piece of bread with it. (It reminded me of frozen bread, you dethaw at home. No cheese. (but that was ok.) Like I said, it was ok. Usually, I eat in and I always think "to-go" food is never made with the same care as eat-in diners, but this was next level. Unfortunately, because this was such a dismal experience I don't care to return for to-go items or eat in, when I'm next in San Marco. Perhaps this is why the host was really trying to hard sell me on drinks and ordering more food. Pass.

I've had better service, food and outside bathroom accommodations at a gas station in po-dunk Alabama than Toscana Little Italy in San Marco Jacksonville, Fl.Dear Baby Jesus. Today was my birthday, my lovely friend secure a table for two, to no avail, as he was waiting for FIFTEEN DAMN MINUTES, there was no one to attend to his needs.I then arrive, as the excited birthday Lady- we sat at the table where we were finally greeted by someone who was underaged and had to get someone who could serve us; let me tell you we had to Lobby congress to get a glass of Vino. And after that was approved we then vetoed the bill. Let's not get into the frozen food that was served as an appetizer! And the inedible "non- Italian " food as a main dish. Did I mention this is a high priced place. After the two day food poisoning, it's safe to say we will not be continued patrons.Do not eat here if you think you're going to have a lovely Italian romantic anything much less- enjoy a milestone in your life.If you do decide- bring an emergency kit with you!

Ordered some pizza and a chicken dish and a pasta side. The pizza tasted good, but appeared to count out the protein, it represented, but just barely, for the price you pay...throw on an extra 8-10. The chicken dish was abundant with the protein but selfish with the pasta. Why? The pasta is the least expensive thing on the plate. Throw in another tong full, or 2. Plenty of chicken, plenty of sauce, hidden underneath, swimming in sauce was what seemed to be a couple dozen strands of noodles. Sad and disappointing because the chicken and sauce were delicious. Same thing with the side of Alfredo. Plenty of sauce, light on the actual pasta. This has happened before a few times. I keep going back, because it's delicious. I just always seem to have to go home and boil some more pasta to "add" to it which defeats getting takeout. I didn't want to have to "cook".
