Tortilleria Azcatl

This is one of those places that'll you never hear about on social media. The term, "hidden gem" doesn't even begin to crack the surface here for Tortilleria Azcatl. Located in a desolate parking lot is more Jacksonville taco nirvana.First and foremost, you'll discover a DIY condiment bar with all the cilantro, pico de gallo, radishes, and salsa verdes your little heart desires. If you're expecting fine dining, go somewhere else. You order from a truck, and sit underneath a covered tented area with a handful of tables and chairs. Asada, Pastor, Pollo. They were out of Chorizo the freezing cold night we went. All tacos are $3 and all of the ones I tried were great. I loaded on bucketfuls of cilantro, diced white onion, and even though not pictured, salsa verde. In my opinion, the tortillas were the star of the show. I would eat them on their own with no sauce. C'mon now, tortilla heaven! Meat was very delicious too, however, not my favorite in town, and the Asada was just a bit over done. That's me nitpicking though.If you know, you know. If you don't know, now you know. Definitely worth the trek for the seasoned taco expert!

This was such an awesome find in Jax. I have been looking for a place that made fresh tortillas so I could make some rolled tacos. After seeing this place on Yelp, I called to ask about the tortillas. The gentleman that answered the phone was very helpful and gave me the information I wanted. I hopped in the car and drove over. The tortillas are cheap!! $2.60 per kilo which was about 40-45 tortillas!!!The lady packaged them up for me and as soon as I got in the car, it smelled heavenly!! I just had to open the bag and have one. The kicker, the tortillas were still really warm. They melted in my mouth and I am now addicted. I got home a couple hours later and the tortillas were still warm. They worked perfectly for my recipe and I feel extremely excited to have found this little gem!!!There is a little store inside and they also cook fresh tacos which looked absolutely amazing. Next time I want a yummy snack I am heading here for some tacos!!

The BEST Real Mexican Tacos ever in Jacksonville! Not that Americanized tacos you get in chain restaurants or some "authentic" Mexican restaurants. This is the real deal just how they do it in Mexico (yes, I've been to Mexico). It's even cheaper than what you get in the restaurants. Very delicious! Love it. They also have a small store and where they make their own tortillas. They also sell Mexican -style street corn (mayo & finely grated cheese). So far, they serve these tacos only on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. My favorite is the steak tacos. Very delicious, moist and good taste. They have very limited space so it's best to get there ASAP because it can get full really fast. Why do you expect? It's the best!

This is a food truck parked in a parking lot area that provide canopy covered seating area. Refreshments are available for sale. The nicely toasted steak burrito filled with refried beans, rice, and cheese was delicious. Tacos slathered with onions, cilantro, and green salsa were on point. Chunky steak. Handmade tortillas. Authentic Mexican cooked here. Self-serve your toppings- freshly cut cilantro and onions, pickled jalapeños, red and green salsa, pico de gallo, and sliced radishes. $3.50 tacos. No skimping on meat. It was a great quick stop to eat at and we are glad to find this food truck.A few people stopped by to ask about their tamales. Only sold on Saturday's and they sell quickly.

Food truck life, service was excellent two young women help you with the handwritten menu and you received your food in almost 10-15 minutes. The only thing thatI don't like is the enclosed eating area, I'm not a claustrophobic person but this area need some improvement For my safety next time will order To-Go.

Hot fresh corn tortillas I love them. Had street taco great from the truck lot meat. Was hot good flavor was very happy. My husband Ioved his Cassadee y and he love hot sauce. Thank you for great food good service will be back.

The store here is very cute and conveniently located off of beach blvd. While the store here is smaller than most it has a lot of the basic Mexican store necessities like dry chiles, candy and maseca.However what this lady does offer is made fresh daily corn tortillas! And just like in Mexico she sells them by the kilo. If I remember correctly she sells it for about 2.70 the kilo. $2.70!!!! For 2.2 pounds of tortillas is amazing! And they are made fresh daily. The tortillas are very good too. Another bonus to this store is that on the weekend they have legit tacos. And at only $2 a piece they are a real steal! The kinds of tacos can vary depending on what they have but everything I have had there is really good. Whenever I go with the family it's like we forget we are in jacksonville because it's very similar to going out and eating tacos in Mexico. Salsa and toppings bar is good and the tacos really are good. I just wish they had more tables and more seating because it can get a bit cramped if lots of people come up. They also have late hours for the tacos so definitely keep them in mind for late night bites because their hours are different from the store. Enjoy!

The ONLY place for authentic elotes in Jacksonville Florida. I literally will travel during rush hour. Great food. Great Prices.

Delicious food was amazing the elote was to die for would definitely be back. La Horchata was very good wasn't watered down full of flavor. Wish they would sell shrimp tacos but the steak ones I got were amazing. Tops were fresh and you can get what you like ...

Tortillas are the best. This lady really knows how to make tortillas. Thursday, friday and saturday you have to go and eat tacos here. Omg just as if i was in Mexico. I usually eat 3 tacos i eat 7 and it was exceptionally good. Price are very reasonable and service excellent Ftom the time you seat to the time you order and are served less than 4 mins. Bring cash is better. They take credit cards but for the price please dont make them pay for the credit card fee. This people are very hard working. I will try to eat here at least once a week
