Tidewater Grill

We were at the Ritz Carlton Amelia Island for a company award trip this past week and actually dined in Tidewater Grill twice during the events. The evening events/dinners were set but we could choose any restaurant during the day for other meal options. We remembered eating there a few years ago so we chose lunch there on our second day. Kayla was so nice and despite getting busy as the only server and bartender for a bit, she took great care of us! We started with the pretzel and the local boiled shrimp appetizers. The pretzel was delicious! One of the best we have ever had served with beer cheese sauce and mustard. It is warm, buttery and salty. The shrimp were really good but a tad too warm despite requesting them chilled. I tried a signature apple drink but it was too sweet. For entrees, I made the mistake of ordering a margarita pizza, as I have a very small appetite and this thing was HUGE. It was delicious but I could only eat one slice. Caution, share the pizza with someone. But get a pizza as they are great! The hubby had the bacon cheeseburger and that left a little to be desired. The burger was overcooked and they forgot the bacon. Kayla did get the bacon for him but the burger was too done. We had several other adult drinks and enjoyed our time. She did a great job! After exploring downtown Fernandina Beach the following day and having a late breakfast and no lunch, we decided to go there again for the pretzel and boiled shrimp before dinner. Both were excellent and we had Carson, from the lobby bar the night before. He made sure the shrimp were chilled perfectly, remembered what we liked to drink, and other very important details. Top notch service! They have a great assortment of appetizers, salads, handhelds, and entrees. They do have TVs for the sports lovers. It's all indoor and a nice atmosphere. I would definitely check them out for a casual meal with great service.

Excellent service!!! My husband and I just wanted to get some dessert after going to the beach and found this in our search on our way home. We didn't realize it was in the ritz-Carlton when we looked but decided to try it anyway. We ordered the pulled pork nachos which came on a massive plate. It was tasty. They only had 3 options for dessert. My contemplated getting one since we went there specifically for dessert but ended up getting appetizers. We asked the waiter about another restaurant that serves dessert since the desserts here didn't appeal to us. He then offered to get dessert there for us since it was another restaurant that was part of the hotel. He called them for their list of desserts and we ordered the torte. The torte was perfect. Served with a small scoop of ice cream, it was almost too pretty to eat. We would definitely go again!

Casual sports restaurant/bar, with several TV's in a small room. Big groups of adults and lots of families made for a very noisy environment. The food was good, but not great. I had flounder, brussel sprouts, and fries. Hubby had a burger and fries. Fries were barely warm. The service was very good. Only three points because of the outrageous loudness in this very small restaurant. I left with a bad headache.

Coming from New England it's been very difficult to find great fish and chips on the island. By far, Tidewater's fresh fried flounder is the best. I'm so happy that I finally found one of my favorite meals and their pizza is pretty good too. Definitely my new favorite restaurant.

A hidden GEM!! A Bar with a great feel, family friendly, date friendly, price friendly kind of place. Classy but comfortable!! They have a pretty inclusive menu, truly something for all- salads, burgers, snacks, meals, and even a kids menu. The drinks are awesome, with quick, sincere and professional service! Toni the bartender was great!! She made our experience here really awesome!Definitely want to give this place a try! Our only regret is that we didn't find this place sooner!.

Excellent service and food! The chef brought out our food personally and it was all delicious. The Brussels sprouts are a must!

Not the best, we came in this afternoon and sat at the bar. Staff seemed more interested in their chit chat than their customers. Food was good! Just a little annoyed to have the staff all engrossed in their own chit chatting behind the bar. Had intended to order another drink but no one asked for too long. Nice enough people just distracted by their own stuff and didn't notice empty glasses for 15min.

Burger and brew for locals was disappointing. I expected so much more from the Ritz. Mediocre service-- food check long after it was delivered. Usually they're so much more attentive and on top of things. Place was not crowded so that wasn't the problem. Stale bun was hard around the edges and not from toasting. Burger itself was uninspiring. Maybe we expected too much but after all it was the Ritz. Beer was good -- cold and as expected. Overall for a locals night at the Ritz it was depressing.

I got the peel and eat shrimp a couple of times. They were a good sized shrimp seasoned with Old Bay and came with both cocktail sauce and butter. They don't have a kids menu like all of the other Ritz Carlton restaurants though.

This place is definitely a hidden gem at the Ritz. This was our second time staying at the Ritz and my wife happened to discover this restaurant through Yelp. It's located on the same hallway as Salt, the fine dining restaurant, but it's hard to see. We were looking to get pizza on July 4th, but not wanting to leave the property. Glad we found this place. The pizza and the apps were great! If you're staying at the Ritz, make sure to give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.
