WOW! I am absolutely in love with the Floridian. I love local spots that feel super authentic and unique to the area. The Floridian feels very cozy and eclectic with really interesting menu choices. We got the 'n grits and the pop special but honestly had such a hard time choosing from their unique menu. We got the 'n grits with FL shrimp which was seasoned and grilled to perfection. I loved the purple rice grits which had a different texture than your average grits. The peach-cucumber was so refreshing--just loved this whole dish! The pop special was a meatloaf supper with beef, sweet onions, and bell peppers, all covered in pimento cheese. I loved the smashed herb potatoes and the collard greens. The datil ketchup wasn't super strong in terms of datil flavor. Both dishes were great choices!Bonus: if you have a membership at the St. Augustine light house, you get 10% off your bill at the Floridian!

Fast friendly service. Reservations a must on the weekend - walk ups had a 1.5 hour wait. The biscuits& belly was really good and worth getting as a shareable. The Tacos with beef brisket were extremely large and tasty. We also had the Florida sunshine salad with salmon which was cooked perfectly. Atmosphere was nice but very loud in the downstairs area. Difficult to converse.

I tend to never go this low on ratings-I always try to give the benefit of the doubt-but my friend and I had a disappointing experience at The Floridian tonight. The only redeeming part of our meal was the caramel brownie, which was actually quite good.In my opinion, it was a limited menu, but lots of Gluten Free options which is great for those who need it! When we placed our food orders, my friend got the fish but was concerned it seemed undercooked. We were reassured it was fine. Unfortunately, later that night, my friend ended up sick from the fish. This was really disappointing, and given the experience, I can't recommend this place. It is unfortunate because it had such a cute outside area...

We had dinner at The Floridian tonight, as part of our 3 day Nights of Lights stay in St. Augustine. I really enjoyed their innovative take on what could be regular menu items. The beet salad was great--beets, sweet potatoes, chickpeas, cashews & greens, with a touch of Indian spice. I ordered the N'Grits with the fresh catch--Mahi Mahi. It was yummy. My husband ordered the beef burger (it was huge). The decor is relaxed and campy.

The Floridian has a great southern-centric menu with plenty of vegetarian accommodations and options. Located on a side street near the main strip in St. Augustine, this restaurant is very accessible and convenient with paid parking nearby. I ordered the FGT BLT (Fried Green Tomato BLT) vegetarian style and added pimento cheese. Ooooh yum! The pimento cheese was a necessary addition in my opinion. It was ooey gooey and so satisfying. Side choices were a salad or homemade tortilla chips. I got the chips, but it doesn't come with salsa. So, I asked for salsa for $1. I thought salsa was standard practice, but oh well. Service was timely and casual. The cocktail and wine selection is pretty good as well. Overall, The Floridian is a solid lunch option.

This place was very cute, the most "home-y" place I've eaten, felt like I was eating at someone's house! Their meatloaf was the best I've ever had and pricing was fair. The service was very nice. We did wait a long time but we were a large a party and they were very accommodating for a walk up. Restroom situation was a bit chaotic though since only 2 are available. Would recommend if in town and want a slice of "Floridian" delicacy!

I had wanted to try The Floridian for ages and finally got a chance to when my spouse and I decided to come to St. Augustine on a Sunday afternoon. The exterior and interior are both lovely -- casual but with a fun and very Floridian (appropriately) aesthetic. We arrived around 3 p.m. and found plenty of availability, although I know in busier times a reservation is important. Our server, whose name escapes me, was great, as were the other folks who stopped by to check in on us, refill our waters, take plates away, etc.We started a Garden Gimlet with vodka, which my spouse said was "delicious" and "easy to drink". I went with the Saturn in Crosshairs because I'm a big fan of tiki-style drinks and was really impressed; the drink blended all of its different flavors so well that the taste was entirely unique -- and, like my husband's, it was also very easy to drink! We got the Chips and Dips appetizer as a starter and were impressed. The chips are clearly housemade, the vegetables were fresh, and the dips were refreshing and creamy. For entrées, my husband got the Dixie Burger and a side of chips -- we didn't realize they were the same chips that came with the chips and dips (although it's a bit more obvious in hindsight), but we liked them and didn't mind having more! His burger was tasty and cooked to the temperature he asked (and looked like it was actually hand-formed). The bun, he said, was also great. I went with the Cornbread Stack and really liked it. The cornbread in particular was delicious and the tofu was cooked well; my only bit of feedback here is that I felt like there was a lot of aioli and that it kind of overwhelmed the rest of the plate as it soaked in. It tasted good, though, so I think I'd just order it on the side next time for my own dipping/drizzling. Also, the serving size for the stack was hearty! I would have taken leftovers had we not had other plans for the rest of the day, and I think it's a good "sharing size" if you want to have room to try some other parts of the menu (which I look forward to doing, because so much of it sounded right up my alley). And in general, The Floridian gets major points in my book for being so accommodating to dietary preferences and needs. There are multiple meatless dishes and many more that are marked as having a vegetarian and even a vegan option, and there are a lot of gluten-free options on the menu, too. I'm looking forward to going back in general, but this restaurant is at the top of my list of places to consider when going out with folks who have differing dietary concerns. We didn't get to try the desserts this time, but the display counter caught my eye as we left and gave me another reason to want to come back. The meal was a bit pricey (for our two alcoholic drinks, appetizer, and two entrées, it came to about $75 before tip), but I don't feel like I overpaid. The quality was great, and St. Augustine rents have to be paid somehow.Overall, everything we had was fresh and delicious, and it feels like a place where everyone cares about what's being made and the people they're making it for.

So good, great gluten free options. Definitely order the fried green tomatoes, the sauce on it was so fresh. The chicken and waffles had peaches so I wouldn't normally order it but I'm glad I did because it was super different and good. Can't really go wrong with anything but definitely get there early or make a reservation

Awesome might not busy. Every thing is so delish here and perfect per usual. Top place to eat in St A.I got the southern belle salad and wished I had only dumped on half of the dressing. So not use the whole amount-it wilts the fresh baby spinach. The Salad is fresh and delightful. My hubby really loved his pork belly. He had this as his entree. I tried it and loved the jam with the biscuit. My friends loved their chicken and waffles. I did tried the waffle and the light and airiness was supposing for being cornbread based. My other friend the meat loaf and she loved it. The apps we got were the famous Friday green tomatoes-the best you will ever have. And the hummus app was made in house and very tasty. The Black bean dip was not spicy at all. Great service per usual. Elizabeth was great!

the ABSOULTE WORST EXPERIENCE. A nightmare! Our group was looking forward to a fun true Saint Augustine experience, I hope this isn't what it's supposed to be.I'll save the details, but trust me anyone, the bartender is great but unfortunately the rest of the businesses is inept. Arby's has better quality service.
