The Donut Shoppe

Yes...The Donuts Shoppe is still putting out some the great donuts. With all the donut shops coming and going. The Donut Shoppe reigns supreme. Yeah times have changed and prices are have gone up. They still put out a great product. And the other customers know it. I went on a Sunday at 9:30 am and the case was almost empty. But they still had a few flavors to choose from. If they are available you must try their Uglies, which are Apple Fritter donuts. DELICIOUS!

My supervisor brought in these donuts for our team so I can't say anything about the location or customer service, but dang these donuts are good!! Amazing flavor, perfect amount of ice cream. Definitely comparable to Krispy Kreme (but better in my opinion!) If you think homemade with love Krispy Kreme, this is it!

I finally visited the donut shop after all of these years reading about it on Yelp! I love to stop in when I'm in the area! They have a wide variety of donuts, cake, glazed, filled, etc. Their coffee is also great as well. Make sure you bring cash! They have a couple of tables to sit at to enjoy your doughnut if you don't want to eat it in the car.

This place is so cute and cozy, a kind of spot you can sit and do your homework or you and a friend can talk and catch up. I had order a jelly filled donut and a sprinkle donut...now the jelly filled donut was great. I love how the donut has a perfect amount of jelly and bread so you're not eating dry bread half way though. The sprinkle donut was good as well. Fresh out of the oven would have been even better ! they only take CASH

The donuts are pretty good but the flavors are limited. They also only accept cash which is really frustrating. It's 2024, no one carries cash anymore and it's inconvenient for customers.

The Donut Shoppe is a great choice for old school donuts. The ambiance is pretty straightforward, but it is a donut shop (hence the business name of the Donut Shoppe) and most people are more concerned about the donuts than sitting in some upscale place.The staff was friendly enough and the donuts were a definite good choice for a sugary breakfast or snack.All in all, the Donut Shoppe is a great choice and I would definitely recommend this particular establishment.

The service was real nice. The atmosphere itself is very cute especially because they have windows that allow you an open view of the kitchen to watch the employees make all of the pastries. Keep in mind that they only accept cash and business checks, but they do have an ATM inside. My boyfriend and I got a 1/2 dozen that included 2 original glazed, strawberry filled, blueberry filled, apple filled, the coconut cake donut, then we also got an apple fritter. The donuts itself were amazing especially because the filled yeast donuts all used real fruit and were not overly sweet. The apple fritter was flavorful and fluffy on the inside but the outside tasted burnt and maybe fried a tad too long. But even still was not overly sweet and the icing itself was smooth. As a pastry chef and we both chefs of many years, would definitely come back to this cute corner shop!

Apple Fritters - did I say Apple Fritters???? Well, they call them uglies. But that's okay - They are delightful, plump, fruit filled deliciousness. I can't honestly say what anything else tastes like here as I'm addicted to the uglies, but the donuts I took home for others to share were gobbled up immediately, so there's that!

I've been coming here for over 20 years and it's still a favorite. The flavors and the recipes through the years have stayed consistent. Had an ugly (apple fritter) today--and it remains #1 on my list. The dough was moist and soft, and all the bits of crunchy ends are so heavenly. Bought a dozen for the family and they devoured it. Service is quick and the donuts fly off the shelves. We will continue to be life long customers. Don't forget your cash! They don't accept cards.

This is not just the quintessential old fashioned donut shoppe of Jacksonville.. it's also hands down THE BEST! Established in 1962, this place is an institution here in JAX. That means, no they do not accept credit cards.. CASH ONLY.. yes there is an ATM in case you forget. Is forgetting still worth it sometimes? Yes it is! As you step into the shoppe you'll really feel the old school charm of this place. One of the many amazing staff members will gladly help you with your donut needs. My favorites are the devils food, blueberry cake, and uglies (apple fritter). If you're lucky sometimes the uglies are still warm! Highly Recommended!
