After that less than unprofessional reply, it's time to make edits. I'll go ahead and take this down to 1 star because there were things I neglected to mention out of blatant respect for small business. But we're doing this. Firstly, those low quality crab cakes are overpriced and nasty. Anyone can buy a box of zatarans (instead of rotten bell peppers) and still do a better job. Just because you crumble cheese-it's on the top and add micro greens, doesn't make it fancy. Temperature matters. Speaking of temperature, are you aware that people can become ill if seafood isn't prepared properly and served at a certain temperature? If you're wary about eating at places that could make you sick, I definitely recommend visiting the health department's website and looking into the violations this business has. Especially the visit that required follow ups. I'm sure you'll find some gems for this place. As far as health and safety, they must not be aware that bay leaves are actually poisonous to ingest, yet they served one to my husband along with other non food items when they scraped the bottom of the two day old gumbo pot for his food. Let's not forget about the terrible service. I tried calling this establishment about 7 times beginning at 4pm. No one ever answered. The voicemail says the best way to reach them is through socials or text. I texted at 7 asking two basic questions and got no response. I tried booking a reservation, but when clicking on that link, my browser kept closing and I had to go all the way back and start over. This is one of the reasons I still showed without a reservation to SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESS. Now, the business owner doesn't like my opinions. Instead of taking accountability for the actions and lack there of, that constitute a good visit, you come on here replying to customers who ALREADY spent money. Girl bye. Go talk to your staff and take the L. This less than unprofessional behavior does not make you look tough. It proves to other and future patrons that yall ain't ship. Do better. You look childish on here replying to people like this is a high school cafeteria.

I visited The District for Sunday brunch and was initially told there would be a 90-minute wait for walk-ins. Fortunately, the bar was first come, first served, and after a short 15-minute wait, I secured two seats. Arbor, the bartender, was fantastic--attentive and welcoming. He took the time to share the day's drink and dish specials, which I really appreciated. For starters, I ordered the maple bacon deviled eggs, which arrived quickly. They had a delicious smoky flavor that paired well with the seasonings. For my main course, I had the shrimp and grits. The grits were thick, buttery, and cheesy, and the dish came with five large, grilled shrimp. All the flavors blended beautifully, though I would have preferred more gravy to bring it all together. This was my first visit to The District, and I was highly impressed. Next time, I'll be sure to make a reservation to avoid the wait. Definitely looking forward to returning!

Holy Mary of everything delicious! From the start the vibe is excellent, really great decor and ambiance. Came at the later end of brunch and it was still packed. Thankfully we all got sat fairly quickly. The crab cake as absolutely delicious. 10/10 would recommend. The rest of the food also slapped. My taste buds are singing hallelujah! Had the chicken and waffles with Gouda grits on the side and everything was on point. I have no notes!!! Absolutely will be back. The outside is amazing too, they have live music and a cool outside space.

Wholly cow!! What a fantastic experience!!You can not judge this book by its cover. We were in line at Uptown when our experience there started going south. I called this place after seeing the photos in the reviews. Oddly enough, while hearing the voicemail, I received a text message from the restaurant. I inquired about the wait time and was told there was availability immediately. We were seated on the patio and met our server, who was excellent. She recommended a few dishes, and the follow-up was excellent. The food items we chose were fantastic. We had a great experience and look forward to returning to experience other menu items.

Attended a friend's birthday for lunch. We were seated in their covered patio and man, it must have been a hundred degrees outside, but tolerable. A fan would have nice to have though. The District is located in the historic Springfield. The place was jammin' with alternating live vocals too. It was a relaxing Saturday afternoon. Food was awesome! Started off with Maple Bacon eggs. For the Mains, my wife and I ordered and shared the Braised Short Rib Hash and Shrimp and Grits. Eat half and switch plates to taste the best of both worlds. Jumbo shrimp on smoked gouda grits and cajun gravy. The short rib was a flavorful monster with potatoes and eggs served poached or scrambled. Highly recommended! Great service!

Ive been here three times. Once for brunch and twice for dinner, one of those in a yort. The drinks, the food, the staff, everything from start to finish was exceptional. The champagne shooter during brunch was so much fun. We had an amazing time. I would definitely recommend this for ladies day/night out.
