I was in the mood for Jamaican food and I'm glad this was in my vicinity. They have a lunch special for $9.99 and it may not seem like a lot of food at first but a small order of that delicious brown stew chicken was very satisfying! I especially like the spice level. I could always go for spicier but this was just right for my quick lunch break so I could enjoy my food without wiping a runny nose or sweating or something. That Rice. Covered in that stew sauce. Omg absolute perfection! I'm so happy that my meal was fantastic and customer service was awesome! I will be back! Tip:They like for you to call instead of ordering online. I wish I had known because this is how I put my order in. This is because Door Dash fulfills their online order. Anything you can do to help a small businesses goes a long way!

The high reviews were truly misleading. We drove about 40 minutes to get here. The location was a bit difficult to find. It was on the corner next to a little mini mart type of shop. Parking is also limited, I'd say about 8 spaces unless you want to make your own makeshift parking. Thank goodness for Jeeps. Upon entering the business it was not inviting, vibes were get your stuff in and get out. We ordered the brown stew chicken with rice and peas and plantains and ox tail. Lets just say there was no stew to the chicken or ox tails. Truly dry and not worth the $40+. Wont be returning. If you have the option go somewhere else but if you're needing a quick fix and arent up to going somewhere else, stop here.

Best jerk chicken hands down! Love the rice and peas! Fresh and not dry like others I've had. Overall highly recommended!!

What a delicious mouthwatering burst of Caribbean cuisine. I ordered the curry Goat. Rice and peas and plantains. One of the best restaurants in our hood. I will be back and telling everyone I know about the taste of the island. I simply loved the food and would rate 5 more stars for the food and service. Take note Jacksonville, people want good service and great food for the price.

Being a native Jamaican- authenticity is high on my list. This place is a hidden jewel!!! The food is amazing- perfectly seasoned- fresh off the grill-just right portions.They even catered my Christmas Dinner- it was EXCELLENT..I could actually eat there everyday if I lived closer. The Brother Sister owners are true Jamaicans Friendly-WarmAnd always ready for a good chat!!Try it- you won't be disappointed.

Excellent flavor, substantial portions! Dinner veggie plate was Rice & peas, cabbage, plantains. I wasn't sure what to expect for vegan options. This was perfect! Price was $14. Will absolutely go back and I wish I'd found them sooner! The staff were friendly and accommodating. There's limited seating there, probably best to take it to go. They have drinks in a cooler that looked delicious. It's in the building between hot wok and the post office (co-located with corner store and seafood shop).

This is the most nastiest Jamaican food I've ever had coming from someone in the Caribbean. How can you guys say your authentic and the shit taste nasty. Food is oily has no flavor. I'm currently in the hospital for two weeks and wanted some home cooked food and this is what you guys are selling. Listen I understand everyday doesn't have to be the best but you don't sell people no oily ass tasteless ass Jamaican food I will personally come to the store and speak to the owner. Y'all need to be closed down and for all these people that writing reviews talking about 4.5 stars y'all don't have no tastebuds in your mouth knowing damn well this isn't Jamaican food

Don't let the lack of fine dining decor steer you away from this little gem of a restaurant. If you like jerk chicken and authentic Jamaican food your going to love this place!With very little seating, one small table with two chairs and a couch, this is mostly a takeout restaurant. The food is amazing, the jerk is perfectly seasoned, it's spicy but not hot, so you enjoy the flavor. The owner has his grill right out in front of the restaurant and the smell of his food let's you know he's a master of the grill.And from the kitchen everything is sooo good! The oxtails are the best I've ever had, rich meaty falling off the bone, you will want to eat them alone isuck the bones clean! :DThe curry goat, beef patties, brown stew fish are all delicious and the owners are super nice and happy to have your business.I highly recommend this establishment.

Horrible. Ordered this while visiting Jacksonville through Grub hub. I placed an order for stewed chicken it wasn't ready yet when my driver arrived to pick up my order which if that was the case I shouldn't of been able to place an order on the website. I ended up swapping out for Jerk chicken which tasted like curry my order contained cabbage,rice and peas which was placed in a very small to go tray, the size u would put a pie or cookies in it was over flowing because it was so small. I do not recommend and won't be eating here ever...
