Great place! The shrimp special on Tuesdays drove us there and we sat at the bar. Our bartender was excellent, not just with us newbies, but with all.the other patrons as well as there were questions about the specialty drinks by several people. The sushi and grouper bites on the happy hour menu were both great. My sangria could have used some fruit (1 thick orange slice) or sweetness but that could just be my tastebuds. My husband ordered the shrimp and due to the special he had each preparation. The shrimp were cooked perfectly each time. I enjoyed more sushi. It was too cold to sit outside, but we enjoyed the tropical vibe indoors. We will be back.

I recently visited the Boathouse for dinner. The noise level was "high" from children screaming and it appeared that voices amplified through the room. The food during this visit was not tasty; the fish was dry (Mahi-Mahi). The best thing on the place was fried rice (go figure). This was my second visit but this will probably be my last. I'm not sure if the menu selection was changed but whatever was done it was not for the betterment of the overall visit. Lastly, the server was efficient and the restaurant was clean.Addendum: I truly enjoyed the first visit ; that's why i returned. The food was great and the serving size was more than ample.

We had planned to come here for dinner but I'm glad we ended up here for late lunch. It was quiet and peaceful with a great view of the water. Our server was sooo nice and very attentive. The food was very fresh and tasty. We started with the spring rolls, portion was big. We probably only needed to get one portion but we got two! Then I got the blue fin tuna poke bowl. It was very tasty. Other diners got sushi, Cobb salad and chicken sandwich. Everyone was more than satisfied with their meal both in taste and portion size. I would definitely come back at sunset for happy hour and dinner to watch the sunset.

We went for dinner with a group. I had a half dozen very fresh oysters. My partner and I split the low country boil. It was very tasty. We bought some home and it was still good the next day. Everyone at our table enjoyed what they had. We stayed for a couple of hours and enjoyed some good music. The patio was enjoyable. Our server wasn't as attentive as we would like but it was an enjoyable evening.

I thought this spot would be much more upscale, but it was a relaxed vibe out on the patio for us tonight. Live music started at 6pm. Good Low Country Boil-more than enough to share! Good draft beer-local Oyster City Hooter Brown.

Had the pleasure of dining here again. We did not have a reservation but we're seated quickly. Our server John was very attentive. My sons steak was not cooked properly the manager immediately ordered up a new steak which was cooked to juicy perfection! What amazing service can't beat that. Always fresh seafood. Locally sourced ingredients. A must visit when you are in St Augustine guys!! We had oyster too but ate them soooo fast.

Food is imaginative, fresh, and presents well. Fish is fresh and flavorful. Service is friendly, well trained, knowledgeable, and quick. Ambiance has a typical fish house atmosphere. Restaurant is clean.

My best friend picked this place at random because we were in the area. We didn't even check the reviews before we went, which normally I wouldn't do, but everything in St Augustine is usually good. What an amazing delight. I can't say enough good things about The Boathouse. The ambiance is adorable the flooring, the wood beams in the ceilings, the fireplace out back, and the water side views. None of that matches up to their menu. They have an extensive menu for everybody, including me, who doesn't eat meat. I did, however, enjoy the gnocchi with pesto and scallops. My friend had the burger. I didn't take a picture of that because, well, I don't eat meat, and I don't like to look at it either, but that's besides the point. Last but not least, our server was the young and beautiful Mary. She was extremely hospitable, warm, friendly, and knowledgeable about all the items we asked about. I really should mention that if you do order the gnocchi, please ask for a container to go because the portion is humongous. I do not use that word lightly. It was served in a giant bowl, and it was amazing . It's going to be even more amazing tomorrow. Also, they will light the fire pit, if it is not already burning. You just have to ask. We will definitely be back!!

I'm going to take away a star for parking.. it's dark and either gravel, grass or mud to park. Food was very good. We had the Tuesday special AYCE shrimp. We had them fried and blacked.. large jumbo perfectly seasoned.. pimento grits were great.. skip the fries.. service was adequate.

One thing the food doesn't lack...salt. Chef only knows one spice, salt. It's a nice family place with good size portions but the abundance of salt in all of their dishes was too much.
