The Boat House

The shrimp over chips starter is like a meal. Short ribs are also spectacular! Drinks are well made. When the weather is decent and there's outdoor music, it's always a memorable experience!!

First of all our server Janell was engaging and efficient. The restaurant was full on the Monday night before Christmas Eve. It was really cold outside so outdoor seating was not an option. There were five of us. All but one ordered a cocktail. The shock came when the bill arrived and we discovered that the Woodford Double Oaked Old Fashioned's were $22 each. Shame on us for not asking. Three of us had the grouper and it was phenomenal. Would definitely order again. Fish sandwich and seafood gumbo for another in our group was equally as good. Problem was the vegan in our group had no entree options. Had to settle for a side salad and hush puppies. The rest of us felt bad for him. Time for the Boat House to tweak its dinner options. So other than the cocktail price shock and the lack of Vegan options, this place is a winner.

Very nice ambiance, indoor and large outdoor patio. There was live entertainment.The mussels were good. Fried plate - shrimp were good, oysters over cooked and hush puppies were soaked in oil...not edible. Mahi sandwich- mahi over cooked.Service was OK, it was close to closing time and the server was paying more attention to clean up.This wasn't our first choice but the restaurant we wanted to visit was closed due to a gas leak so we walked to the first open restaurant we could find. Oh well.

Dang, where is that sixth star?!?!?! Yeah, best place we dined at in Fernandina Beach, hands down! We were staying right across the street so not sure how we missed seeing The Boat House until our last evening. Outside seating was great and a beautiful sunset to top it off. Wait staff was incredible, funny, and very attentive. We both ordered the special, can't recall what it was called, but insanely good. The crunchy stuff on top was addictive. Had a couple Old Fashioneds and don't let the waitress fool you, she absolutely CAN make a good Old Fashioned! There was someone slip at the sidewalk so we got a little extra entertainment with a fire truck and an ambulance, but didn't reduce our enjoyment this evening. Outdoor music fit the mood perfect. If you visit Fernandina Beach, this is definitely a must visit dining spot, especially at sunset! Two thumbs up!!!!

Food was solid (had the macadamia crusted grouper). Service was a 5 and super dog friendly! Will definitely be back.

I come here every time I visit Amelia Island because of the atmosphere, level of consistent service, and amazing food. Starting with the atmosphere, there's always live music happening on the stage outside. I've been here before when people started to dance to the music in front of the stage, when bands were so good, people were out there cheering them on. It's a fun time! There also plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, depending on the weather and what you're feeling. For the service, I've always had amazing service! The bartenders are attentive even with a packed bar. They came up to me 5 times before I got my food to make sure I was good and didn't need anything else. For the food, the Short Ribs would be my death row meal. Every time I get them, they just melt in my mouth with how good they are. The juices are perfect and the mashed potatoes pair so well with the juice and meat. It's my go-to meal here and I've tried the salmon and chicken before. My girlfriend says they have the best burger she's ever had at The Boat House. The food here is seriously amazing. I can't say enough good things about The Boat House!

Visited tonight while on a mini vacation. It was a beautiful night for outdoor dining! A nice breeze and perfect temperature. Our server, Caitlin provided great service and was quick to share her recommendations on each section of the menu. I had the Cedar teriyaki salmon which was delicious. My companions all commented they enjoyed their dishes as well. Awesome live music as well made for a great experience.

Always a quality spot in Fernandina Beach! There is a large outdoor area that's is typically always crowded especially when you can catch some live music. The food is always super consistent and you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My biggest thing with this place is the menu is always the same. They don't offer any off menu specials. Again it's all great but I've been through the menu quite a few times already haha The ahi tuna app is super tasty, comes in a wonton shell with some veggies on the bottom. The mussels are always fresh and big. Served up in a tasty sauce to dip all that bread in! This shrimp nachos are phenomenal. The queso, corn salsa and avocado cream all go so well together for a tasty bite! Highly recommend for a quality spot with outdoor dining and live music that's always good for some good drinks!

Had a very nice dinner Sunday evening. There was live music out on the patio which is always nice. Drinks were very good and our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. Definitely plan to visit again the next time I'm in Fernandina.

Excellent service! Delicious food!! Great vibe!!! Our waitress was so friendly and had great descriptions on entree selections - which helped us make our choices. The grouper was outstanding!!!
