The Blue Hen Cafe is where the locals and tourists go for a fantastic breakfast and lunch in Saint Augustine. There's typically a wait (it's well worth it). The food is excellent, elevated breakfast fare. The service is a team effort (my coffee as never empty) and impeccable. The atmosphere is casual and unique...part diner, part family breakfast. The pumpkin pancake was fantastic. The butter unique and syrup, delicious. The guacamole slices atop my vegetable Omlette was a genius accent, the Omlette itself perfect, the biscuit fantastic, and best of all was their potatoes. Since we were at the bar, I had to look into the kitchen to see if I could figure out what made these so good. They're not pre-cooked or baked potatoes, put in whole, fried to the exact right amount and seasoned perfectly. We'll be back. I highly recommend you try The Blue Hen Cafe on your next visit to Saint Augustine.

We really wanted to split a sweet and a savory item for breakfast, but by the time our table was ready, it was too late for French toast or pancakes. The savory breakfast menu is available all day. The chicken biscuit was great. And I loved the sweet potato home fries that came with the Zada Jane. Def get the iced coffee if that's your thing. They use coffee ice cubes! Bummed that they don't have call ahead or a virtual queue. We used the wait time to go to a cool thrift store across the street.

Great food, really, really well done. We were lucky enough to have a new server who had just started and was really shiny and sweet. The rest of the servers looked kinda hard or uninviting to speak with. It would be a lot friendlier with a bunch more new servers like the one we had. Again, food - terrific :))

Worth the wait!! We visit St. Augustine often, even before moving to Jacksonville, and always wanted to dine here. Our usual excuse was the wait or once they moved from Lincolnville, we didn't want to drive and walked somewhere else instead. Never again! Our 40 minute wait was reduced due to a few spots opening at the counter. The space is adorable with looks of vintage decor. Everyone on the staff was kind, welcoming, and friendly. We never had to ask for anything, our waters and coffees continuously being refilled. Love that they don't pack people in, the tables are nicely spaced which I sure adds to the staff's ability to attend to those who are seated. The food was fantastic. Both the regular potatoes and sweet potatoes were cooked perfectly, the cubes seemed to be fried raw which made for crispy outsides and soft, yummy insides. The biscuits were soft and delicious, but the apricot butter elevated them to the next level. The pumpkin pancake was full of pumpkin flavor and barely needed syrup to enjoy. Don't miss this wonderful place, it is definitely worth the wait!

Wrapped up a fantastic weekend in St. Augustine with breakfast at Blue Hen Café. The last time I visited them was at their old location, and I really love the new interior--it has much more space. The food was delicious! I wanted to try something different, but the Chicken & Biscuits kept calling my name. Their biscuits are incredibly tasty, and the chicken was served hot and crispy. It had great flavor as well. I ordered my eggs scrambled with cheese, and they were cooked to perfection. Service was top-notch even with the restaurant being busy. If you haven't visited Blue Hen Café then you're missing out.

Food was good, wait was long. Yet, well worth it. Peach butter was amazing, never tried anything such. Coffee was excellent, I had 4 cups back to back. Eggs were not light and fluffy. Homefries were seasoned well just a tad too big. Made me full faster. Service was great! Everyone was so friendly. Great spot give them a try! Ambiance was country super cute, and open space.

Let me start by saying that I wish I could give this place 10 stars Delicious food. Big servings you will not leave hungry. Very reasonably priced. Amazing service. Our server Chyanne was the loveliest! Such a cute place. Arrive early as we did my friends or you will have a wait. But it will be worth your wait regardless.

This was our first visit to the Blue Hen. There was about a 20 minute wait on Thursday midday. Most tables are tables for 4 so it is pretty spacious for 2 people. There are enough servers so they don't seem to get frazzled with the continual flow of people. Our service was great as well. My husband ordered the Fried green tomato burger which he said was very good. Burger was thick and cooked as ordered. The sweet potato fries were cubed and really had a great sweet potato taste. I ordered the corned beef hash breakfast. The grits were some of the best I have ever eaten. The biscuit with the peach butter was as delicious as I had been told it was. I asked for poached eggs but they don't offer that option so I had eggs over easy. They were very good. I didn't love the hash but I think it was more me than the hash. I have a particular corned beef hash that I like and if you look at the picture, this corned beef was cubed and cooked with peppers and onions. I ate some of it, it was fine but just not right for me. I didn't want to complain because it was my issue, not theirs. I always struggle to write a review if I ordered wrong. So I am giving 5 stars because the eggs, grits and biscuit deserved 5 stars. It was just the last minute that I ordered the hash. If you are a corned beef hash lover please don't go by me. Try it for yourself.

Breakfast at The Blue Hen their new location on King Street. More parking than before at the old location. Staff is so friendly always a good dinning experience at The Blue Hen. My eggs and cheese grits could have been warmer. Biscuit was excellent. Wife had the breakfast sandwich added avocado she loved it. So today it's a 4 out of 5.

Went here on a breakfast recommendation from a local. I'm not sure what the draw is. The food was fine. I got southern omlete and my wife corn beef hash with eggs. My home fries were way too overcooked. The peach butter wasn't anything special in my opinion. I was surprised at the lack of attentiveness from our server as well. It's not necessarily bad, just very average.
