The Art Center Co-Operative

Main gallery for the Art Center is at the landing and they have an Annex gallery down (South) the building- across the center on the opposite wing. I specifically was entering a show that was put on by the Art Center Co-op and from walking in I was greeted with warm smiles. This was a first for me, and I was very nervous, the volunteers running the gallery were extremely helpful! Ed- he is the president, I met him when I went to pick up the my pieces that didn't make the show and he complimented my work. The opening of the show was super fun! All of the staff are so professional and did a wonderful job of putting on a fantastic opening night. Seriously thinking of doing a membership here!

I think its great what the Art Center Co-Op is doing for the city of Jacksonville. Helping to bring more awareness to the arts and more exposure to the artists in this town. They not only help exhibit art, they also offer art classes, such as the nude figure drawing classes on Tuesdays. Make sure to stop by both of their art spaces in Downtown Jacksonville during ArtWalk, as well as their special events throughout the month. My son had his art displayed during one of their kid art events, and his art was on display during ArtWalk.
