My husband surprised me with a visit to this delightful B&B for our 25th anniversary. He just said to be ready at 5 pm. All he revealed was that we would be at our destination by 3 am. Since I didn't know where we were going I wistfully packed for a beach visit with multiple swimsuits, coverups and a huge cooler expecting a long trip to a hotel on the coast far away. None of which I needed since we drove only an hour north of JAX. Bob was there to greet us with a smile on his face and handlebar mustache. He took us to the mint green #7 on the first floor. It has a king bed, enormous jetted tub, desk and lots of windows. The main house is an old Victorian with high ceilings, fireplace and beagle named Lou. Breakfast is gourmet with fresh squeezed orange juice and variety of items like hash brown muffins with fruit and bacon or homemade quiche served at your table rather than a buffet. We didn't meet his wife, Shannon, until the following day. Both were very nice and gracious. After a day exploring Amelia Island we came back for a brief happy hour and then later went out for tapas and seafood at Espana.

This was our 3rd stay at The Addison On Amelia Island. The first since the new owners Lisa & Ron took over this absolutely wonderful bed and breakfast. We had anticipation to if the Addison was going to be as good and pleasing as when the prior owners had the B&B. Let me assure all are as good and some things even better. The level of service and catering to all ours needs was top notch!!! The accommodations are one of the main reasons we will not try any other B and B on the island. The rooms are so comfortable and well decorated and baths very roomy. We love to sit on the covered porch in front of our room with drinks as we are looking over the court yard and the beautiful landscape and water fountain. We spend most of our time there. Evenly one of the main reasons is the breakfast ever morning. I have never been disappointed leaving the table with my palate singing with flavor and never leaving hungry. I am always looking forward to the 5:30 get together every evening with all the other guest with wine , beer and hors d'oeuvres provided by the Addison. I have not even spoken about Amelia island in itself. The down town area with all the shopping and restaurants. The miles and miles of beach. The water ways and tours. The farmers markets. A different attraction almost every weekend. I have stayed at many Bed and Breakfast all over. My top pick out of all the B and Bs I have visited is The Addison On Amelia Island. Say hi to Lisa and Ron and tell them the cookie man sent you!!!

After extensive research (my spouse was a former travel agent), we selected The Addison because of the many positive reviews and the ideal location. Fernandina Beachs' historic downtown is literally a five-minute walk. The downtown is very quaint with numerous shops ranging from bookstores to fine clothing to antique shops. There are so many restaurants to choose from, a good problem to have.Lisa and Ron, the owners of The Addison, are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They assisted us in booking a 30 minute carriage ride that picked us up right outside the B&B and dropped us off right by our restaurant (Le Clos - highly recommend). Our room (#3) was very spacious and the bed, heavenly. Each morning Lisa had a delicious and hearty breakfast awaiting, and Ron is quick to keep your coffee/juice glass full - great start for the day. Each evening from 5:30-6:30, they provide wine/beer and a light appetizer on the side porch, very relaxing. We relaxed on the beach one day and Ron equipped us with beach chairs, umbrellas, and even suntan lotion.I highly recommend The Addison and will most definitely return.

This place is just perfect! My husband and I stayed here over the 4th of July weekend for a much needed getaway and we were not disappointed.Lisa and Ron are such sweethearts! You can tell they love what they do and truly enjoy hosting their guests. They made us feel right at home and were very accommodating. My husband and I both have food allergies and Lisa was so kind to make a specially prepared breakfast just for us that was delicious! The property is beautifully kept and expertly managed. The staff keeps the rooms at a high standard of cleanliness that you would expect to find at a hotel. The weather was hot and rainy, as you would expect in Florida during this time, so it was nice to come back to such a beautiful and comfortable room in the afternoons to rest before heading back out for more fun. As someone who has worked in both the service and hospitality industries for many years, I can say without a doubt that this bed and breakfast is excellent! As for the surrounding area, you can't find a more ideal location. The Addison is so picturesque, surrounded by beautiful historic homes. It is less than a 5 minute walk to the shops and restaurants of Fernandina Beach. These local businesses are one-of-a-kind and not to be missed! It is also a short drive or bike ride to the beach front and state parks, with lots of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. The weather limited some of our excursions, but we hope to return in the fall when it's a bit cooler to enjoy more of what the area has to offer. We had a lovely stay. If you're looking for a quiet bed and breakfast with good food, relaxing surroundings, and great company, this is the place to be. Thank you, Lisa and Ron!

We stayed at the Addison for a babymoon. We wanted a place with walking access to shops, that was quiet and more calm for a relaxing time. The inn rooms were perfectly equipped, the breakfast was beyond amazing, and Ron and Lisa were the best. I have some food allergies and they accommodated for meals, and Ron was able to recommend some fantastic restaurants. We do not have one compliant about our visit to the inn and recommend that it is a staple for Amelia Island.

Outstanding place!Clean, great location, 1st class, quality run inn and food. The owners Ron and Lisa are welcoming and aim to please. Lisa takes pride in personally preparing a hot breakfast while Ron offers insites on the downtown and surrounding attractions. I would recommend the Addison on Amelia to my most selective friends! We have been to B&B's in many towns. This is the best we have experienced. Thank you both! Can't wait to return!

The Addison Inn is a beautiful B & B located very close to the historic district, awesome restaurants, shops, and the ICW. Bikes are available if you ask.The accommodations were spacious, and well appointed. The room we stayed in was beautifully decorated, and immaculate with lots of light pouring through the windows. The bathroom had a jetted tub/ shower combo complete with a jar of Epsom salts. The only criticism was it did not have a grab bar in the shower. Our gracious hosts, Lisa and Ron, told me they will be adding grab bars to the bathrooms that don't already have them.Happy hour, and a delicious breakfast provided opportunities to chat with other guests if so desired. Otherwise, there are numerous areas for private conversations. We look forward to a return trip
