I attended opening night of "Urinetown" last night. Performances are held at The Jacksonville Ballet on Atlantic Blvd. The theatre is small and quaint. Talent is local and volunteer.Jacksonville has talent. This was my 2nd production at this tiny theatre. If you have never been follow them and put a show at the top of your list!

What a great local theater! It is the perfect place for an intimate evening of song and dance.Showstoppers was my first show at this theater but it won't be my last. There is not a bad seat in the house. They have a nice lobby with a small art display to match their current running show. The lobby is a nice space to enjoy intermission where you make donations for snacks and drinks. And the local talent we have here in Jacksonville is incredible. I can't wait to see more from the singers and actors in our community.

LYSISTRATA was hilarious! What a great production! I remember reading the play a long time ago but the all female cast and director took it to the next level! They brought new life into it, would recommend 100%!

I had the privilege of seeing Off The Record's debut performance at this lovely theater space. They're a gay men's signing group with wonderful voices and funny songs who were doing a Christmas themed show. The room was filled to capacity with overflow standing in the back, but it didn't feel crowded or stuffed. The sightlines were great throughout. It was a very comfortable theater experience. The standout songs from their performance were a gender flipped "Baby It's Cold Outside" which had the room in tears from laughter and the belty "Santa Claus is Back in Town" complete with gyrating Santa. I had an absolute blast and my only regret was that this was Off The Record's only show for December. For my first time at The 5 & Dime, it couldn't have gone better. I'll definitely be back.

There are theatre companies that limit their repertoire to crowd-pleasing, big-name shows... and then there are theatre companies that take the leap of faith and produce poignant, thought-provoking, socially charged scripts. The 5 & Dine is the latter. They consistently produce lesser-known scripts that pack a punch. And that's what love theatre is all about! While the previous warehouse space was innovative (and just generally cool), their new store-front at Adams & Ocean is a fantastic home. Come a few minutes earlier to have a glass of wine and view the rotating art on display (and for sale!) in the lobby. There is plenty of street parking nearby, and a few lots (both free and paid). You'll be within short, walking distance from several bars & restaurants, so plan a "dinner & a show" evening downtown and support the local businesses! :)

Saw the evil dead musical. Simply put, it was awesome. I was amazed at the level of talent and quality of production. I wish they had more showings so I could go back and see it again.
