Amazing Honduran restaurant around Jacksonville area. Service was great and food came really quick. We ordered an order of cheese pupusa, pastelitos and pollo chuco. Food was amazing and delicious. Portion was huge so we ended up eating the remaining during dinner. Overall, this is an amazing Honduran restaurant around Jacksonville and will definitely come back.

Pros: quick, filling, fair price and decent flavorCons: fried food was soggy and didn't taste freshWe have two food trucks every Friday in my neighborhood and this one was here this week so I decided to give it a try. Ordering was efficient and the man was pleasant. however the menu isn't very easy to navigate or understand what the food is. It has some notations in parenthesis but not enough to truly know what you're ordering. A picture or more detail would help people figure out what they want. I had to look it up on here to figure it out and probably wouldn't have ordered from here if it weren't for yelp. I order the pollo con tajadas (fried chicken over fried plantains and pickled coleslaw) i also ordered the bean and cheese pupusas. The pollo con tajadas had decent flavor and the sauce on it was good but the skin was super soggy (fried chicken should be crispy) and the fried plantains didn't taste cooked all the way, were soggy and stuck together in big clumps. The chicken itself was juicy and good flavor but I had to pick it off the bone and peel all of the soggy skin off so was a but messy. I wouldn't get this again. The pupusa was different, hadn't had one before. The dipping sauce was good. It was a nice little app and would get it again for sure. Overall, food had decent flavor and service was quick but the overall execution of the dish was disappointing and probably won't eat here again.

I have been looking for a Central American restaurant in Jacksonville and I was intrigued by Takeria Mix and their expansive menu. Hubby and I stopped in for dinner on a Sunday night recently. We ordered a new item plus a few pupusas to share. Here is what we ordered:Baleada sencilla - thick and fluffy flour tortilla filled with refried beans, crema and cheese. Very simple yet very delicious. I especially enjoyed the fluffy tortilla. This was a lot big than I expected so we took half of it home. It was very good reheated for breakfast.Pupusa de queso - my absolute favorite! Takeria Mix makes an excellent pupusa de queso! Loaded with melty mozzarella cheese, griddled up hot and fresh. Super yummy!Pupusa de queso y loroco - one of my go-to's. Cheesy and floral. Definitely an interesting flavor but a must try.Pupusa de queso y pollo - very good and packed with flavor! Chicken was moist, shredded well and mixed with melty mozzarella cheese. Always a great choice!Pupusa revueltas - another great flavor. I love anything with pork rinds then you add cheese and refried beans, you can't go wrong!I'm a big fan of pupusas. I've been eating them for over 25 years since my stepdad is from El Salvador. My Cuban mom even learned how to make them and used to make huge batches several times a year. The pupusas at Takeria Mix were very good and huge! These were definitely the largest I've ever seen. The curtido was vinegary, crunchy and flavorful. The tomato based red sauce was simple and tasty. Of course, I can't forget about the chips and salsa! The chips were thin. The salsa had a great consistency and had a nice kick. Always a great starter. I'm glad they provided these. I really enjoyed everything. We will definitely be coming back!

Marina Munch on US1 in St. Augustine. Cute spot for food truck gatherings. I ordered their fish tacos, which came with 2 unique sauces. All food very good- even if sort of spicy Loved sitting outdoors & seeing all the beautiful yachts and the marshes in the distance. Nice vibe. Live music. Bathrooms. Good choices. Will try some other menu items next time. Really enjoyed the food and the setting

For a quick bite, come to this area. There are several food trucks to choose from. When we came, it was a little late, so there were only 2 trucks open, so make sure you check out the closing time. But, I'm glad we tried this place, the food was good. We had pupusas and baleadas. I was not crazy with the cheese inside the baleadas, but that's just me. There are tables where you can eat and enjoy the beautiful view of the marina.

First, I will give the bad news. They don't serve individual tacos so you would have to get a three taco order. The only negative is if you wanted to mix and match your offerings or just add a taco as a little bonus.Otherwise, a great experience. My meal started with chips and beans, I guess this is the Honduran version of chips and salsa. The chips and beans were a nice change of pace, but ultimately, I would have to say that I prefer the chips and salsa.I also had a baleada sencilla and a papusa. I love papusas and my server recommended the baleada sencilla (great choice). The atmosphere was nice, though it resembled a bar a little too much. Perhaps that is what the location was originally and they just kept it as it was (ripping out the bar might have been out of the scope of their budget). My server eas very friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. All in all, this was a nice place to stop in for lunch. Now if only they could do something about making the tacos a la carte. Anyway, I would definitely recommend here. And if you are a fan of papusas, they are good. If you haven't tried a papusa, try one and find out what you have been missing out on.

Oh man! My first time eating their pupusas and sopa de res .... WOW, they did so good!!!Now I've had many of pupusas and sopa de res, but I've never had them taste this good!My usual go to order since finding them on door dash is baledas w/cream and cheese and this too is the best ones I've ever had (just don't tell my Hondurian mother in law). I called and spoke with Vivian and she helped me place my order b/c pupusas are not on door dash menu. I work in customer service and I absolutely love when I get someone like Vivian. Thank you Takeria Mix for the wonderful food and the great service.

Lately I've been having cravings for Latin food, it comforts me and brings me back to my childhood. I discovered Central American cuisine when I lived in DC a few years ago. I had a hankering for pupusas and this place popped up thanks to Yelp, so I had to come and give it try!Located just south of The French Pantry on Powers Rd, Takeria Mix is one of those fantastic hole in the wall places that leaves you pleasantly surprised. It's nestled in an unassigned shopping plaza, the restaurant is clean and spacious. Being Latina, I had a good feeling about the food being among other Latino patrons. I ordered the pupusas revueltas, stuffed with cheese, refried beans, and pork along with a side of tostones. Accompanied with a delicious slaw and dipping sauce, the favor of the pupusas was delicious. Crunchy, cheesy, savory, they were amazing. I look forward to trying more menu orals from here and can't wait to go back!

I don't know why we hadn't checked out this place sooner.I'm a big papusa fan so I try to get one whenever I can. We kind of knew about Takeria Mix for a while but never stopped in. One day we were starving and couldn't figure out where to go and I remembered about hearing about the papusas at Takeria Mix so we stopped in and we were so glad we did! This is the closest I've ever been to getting a papusa like I did back in Guatemala made by an El Salvadoran in a little shop off the street. I literally could die happy after each bite.We also loooooove their salsa. It is so flavorful and delicious. My husband always orders the pork, rice, Maduras and French fries. He literally could eat it every day if i let him.You should definitely visit and grab a papusa and some chips and salsa!
