AMAZING fish place!! Perfect for takeouts only. I'm a regular customer there lol the price and food is excellently reasonable! The service could be better but it's just a lady, all respect goes to her!

Solid Togo sushi spot. We order a selection of simple rolls, sashimi, miso soup, chicken noodles and calamari. The fish was fresh which is the most important thing. The couple that runs it are very nice. Only thing that struck a wrong note was the breading on the fried calamari wasn't so great. Overall a good find in JAX.

We had a sushi craving and while I do know of a couple great places near me, we decided on a new spot. Sushi Yee is hard to find as it is around the corner from the store facing parking lot where Publix is, and the lighting is almost non-existent. They have set up what I typically see at Asian to go spots post Covid; a system of plastic boxes to pass the payment and receipt, food and utensils through. It's all a bit much but it works. We ordered a lot. Well, a lot for us. It was 40 total for four rolls and two appetizers. Not bad at all. The sushi was all fresh but I did make one possible mistake when ordering. It asked if you want cucumber or crunchy when ordering online. I didn't want cucumber so I chose crunchy. Well that crunchy stuff they completely smother the rolls with is a bit much. I would suggest no crunch or very little. I wasn't a fan. You would have to call it in to change that option. Over all good food and more importantly fresh and made well. I would def order here again.

Sushi Yee is a solid little sushi takeout restaurant. It does feel reminiscent of walking into a quick Chinese restaurant. I had first seen the store front when I was going to Publix one day and was intrigued. I placed a call in order for their lunch special of three rolls. It is well priced and I was happy about that. overall the sushi was good. One of the rolls felt like it had previously frozen fish. I know most fish in the US sold has been previously frozen however, one of the rolls did have that kind of fishy taste. I did try them a second time and found it to be good. It's not as amazing as my go to restaurant, but my go to restaurant is also another 10 minutes away and on a workday that isn't feasible if I am craving sushi. Sushi Yee is a good choice for quick sushi rolls at a fair price.

I've been meaning to come here for a while but normally when I order Japanese it's my wife and I dining in. Well, one day I couldn't figure out what I wanted so I called in my order and dropped by to pick it up. A soup, salad, spicy tuna roll and a chicken Hibachi ran me a little over $21. I thought everything was good, however wish I had the option for clear soup - lady never asked on the phone what kind of soup along with which salad dressing. Also, the spicy tuna roll could have been a bit better, but I really enjoyed the Hibachi. I'll be back and give this place another shot.

Like many other Yeeps in the area, I was intrigued by the consistent string of 5-star reviews for Sushi Yee, and the songs of praise sung within these reviews. "Fresh....inexpensive...amazing...." However...I wasn't entirely sold on the idea of a sushi restaurant fashioned like the typical Chinese take-out joint, and being that I was so skeptical and I wanted to make sure I had all the bases covered, I visited Sushi Yee twice before I started this review. Being that I have seafood allergies (unfortunate, I know), I called in and ordered my go-to sushi staples, the sweet potato roll ($4.50), and the chicken tempura roll ($5.00). Nothing fancy, but like I said, my options are often limited. On both visits there were a couple of other patrons there seated at one of the few tables waiting for their to-go orders. "No-frills" sums up this establishment to a tee, complete with the quintessential overhead pictures of popular items, bottled and canned drinks, and take-out menus piled on the counter. After a brief wait, I went to gather and pay for my order. I noticed that there was only one small container of shrimp sauce in my bag for my 2 rolls, and when I asked for some more, I was told there was a 50 cent charge for each extra 2-ounce container. One shrimp sauce for 2 rolls? Not cool, when they set a whole bottle of it on the table for you at most sushi restaurants. I reluctantly paid the extra for 2 more and whisked my food away to enjoy at home. I'm not sure if they were in a hurry or if it was the type of rice that was used, but my rolls seemed loosely packed, as several pieces fell apart to the touch. The Sweet Potato Roll is a cooked roll, yet on both occasions there were chunks in every section that weren't done all the way through and had that awkward "raw" crunch to it. The sauce that was drizzled over the top had a little kick, and was a welcome addition, but the roll in itself was a sore disappointment. Thankfully the Chicken Tempura Roll came through for me, although once again, several fragments fell apart. Well-presented, savory, and altogether delicious, this was definitely the saving grace of both visits. I'm not 100% committed to Sushi Yee as of yet, because frankly I enjoy the full-service sushi restaurant experience too much, and if you notice, there's hardly a price difference between the two, from the sushi rolls to the hibachi dishes. Additionally there's some kinks to work out here as far as preparation and execution that are difficult to overlook. I'd would much rather pay the extra few bucks to tip a gracious server who throws in a free appetizer roll or dessert than have an establishment nickle and dime me for extra sauce. Till next time, my fellow Yeeps, support your local eats and businesses, and as always....SYOY!

Wanted to try this as it is the highest rated Japanese that isn't a sit down hibachi within probably 15 miles of my hotel. First off, service is okay. Not terrific, but just fine and what you expect for takeout, so not an issue whatsoever. The place is a little hole in the wall tucked over on the side of a strip mall type shopping center. No tables inside so takeout only. No self serve soda machine, just bottled drinks at a little too high if a price. The food was very good. The hibachi chicken entree came with rice, noodles, chicken, and veggies. I thought it was pretty expensive but it was a very large plate of food so the price made sense. Everything was well cooked and mostly tasty besides the noodles. They were all but flavorless without yum yum sauce on them. The yum yum was very good here, wish I'd gotten some extra. The soup was actually terrific, but I didn't try the salad because I couldn't even finish the soup and more than half the main plate before being full.Overall a very good experience and I'd go again for sure. I can certainly see why it's the highest rated Japanese takeout on the west side of Jacksonville at the time of my own review.

Very poor quality and inedible sushi. Definitely not going back. This is definitely subpar level sushi. It didn't even look fresh and had an odor. 0 out of 5 stars as I tossed out the entire meal.

DO NOT ORDER !! After my friend and I spent over 70 dollars on an order from this restaurant through DoorDash, I found not one, but TWO FINGER NAILS in my food. By the time I found bit into the finger nail, the store was already closed. We all know what the texture of a finger nail feels like when you bite it off, and we all know what it looks like and feels like in our hands. It was most definitely a finger nail. AND THATS NOT ALL, as I mentioned, the store was closed by the time this issue occurred. when we called the next day and told them, expecting some sort of compensation or at least acknowledgement of the issue, they told us to "take it up with DoorDash" and "there's nothing we can do for you" as well as set the phone down, and then hung up as we were speaking. HORRIBLE customer service. 0/10 recommend. My next call will be to the department of health.
