Another happy client, once her curls were hydrated and styled... she didn't need the color she thought she did!!
One week after- she only touched up my roots. So the color is from what I had done in the summer
Before: "triangle" shaped cut/ poor definition of curls
One week after- soft, hydrated, defined, bouncy curls!
After.
Back with my head tilted back a little. Cute cut but way too much gone.

Jami worked a fabulous job with my color and curly cut! I had been doing curly cuts for years, then went off track and cut my hair short and was straightening it. NO!! I'm trying to get the curls to bounce back again. Having a good cut and curl routine is important to reach my goals. I'm also growing out my salt and pepper hair. The highlights Jami gave me looked great. Loved it!! I left her salon with great cut and curl routine plus some good shampoo to cut the brass out of my hair.

Jamie is amazing with curly cuts! I've been going to her for a few years now and will continue until I go bald or she leaves the hair industry. She also does my color and gives me honest recommendations based on my wants, hair type and potential damage or upkeep and maintenance requirements. I also don't spend all day in a salon like other places. Lastly I hate wasting money on products and usually recommendations go in one ear and out the other but she has yet to steer me wrong with product recommendations! And I think that's partially because she's open to multiple brands for different reasons and I can appreciate that every brand of hair can't conquer it all.

Calling all curly hair girls! We all have our share of horror stories when it comes to finding someone who actually knows how to cut curly hair. Wellllllll, this curly hair girl has finally found the right stylist for the job! Enter Jamie.... not only does she have many years of experience as a stylist, she's traveled around the world learning new techniques, she's been trained as a Deva Cut stylist, and she loves a challenge!I came in with dry, curly/ frizzy hair...plus I have A LOT of hair. I left with bouncy, hydrated, shapely curls!I started with a consultation, she listened to my concerns, was very patient, looked over pictures of what I was looking for. She's very straightforward ( which is what I like), she will let you know what will or will not work. The day of my cut and color, she reviewed everything again with me. She cut my hair DRY. Which is so important in order to see your curls' shape and how they lay. She explained every step and how to condition/ use hair products correctly. The BEFORE pic isn't great, but it's the best I could find since I didn't think to take one at the salon:/ The AFTER picture I'm posting is one week after my cut; following her tips and using Deva Curl conditioner and gel. Jaime is my new girl and I'm willing to share her with any curly hair girls looking for a great cut to give life back to your curls

I really enjoyed getting a DevaCut at this salon. I've been getting DevaCuts for awhile now and have had a hard time finding a stylist in Jax that I can trust AND afford. (Some people charge over $100 for a DevaCut alone and I steer clear of those salons.... just because I have curls doesn't mean I am also rich. I get that it's a specialty cut but.... I'm a teacher... who just wants a trim that doesn't leave me looking like a triangle LOL!) ANYWAY, Jami did a great job! I came in to get a trim/reshape a cut that had grown out kind of wonky. We first sat down and consulted about my experience with DevaCuts, my everyday routine, and what I wanted out of the cut. That was refreshing in itself... I'm used to stylists who think they walk on Deva water and end up giving an awful cut. That's not Jami. I ended up with a great cut! I really appreciated how Jami was not "scissor happy" and really knew her Deva stuff. After my cut and wash, I sat under a dryer with cool air for *maybe* 10 minutes and then she used a diffuser to finish up. (Did she say diffuser? Yes, ladies! I said diffuser!!! Hallelujah!) She asked lots of questions and also gave me plenty of advice. Clients can even come back for a free "bang trim" between cuts. That's nice!! I would recommend that curlies give this salon a shot. I will be back!

Becky is the best! I have lived in four different states and she is hands down the best hairstylist! I cried when I had to leave Jacksonville Beach, FL and move somewhere else. You will have an awesome haircut with her every time! =)

I am very disappointed with the customer service at Suzan Merrick'S Hair Design When I entered the saloon, I was nicely greeted, but as soon as I started talking I started feeling discriminated due to my accent. MELISSA THE HAIR SYLIST, did not ask me the NORMAL AND POLITE questions: How are you? Good to see you! How was your ... NOTHING! NOT EVEN A SMILE !!!I got an appointment as a gift for my sister that came from another state and wanted to do some highlights on her hair.My initial appointment on Saturday 2 pm, was canceled, saying that the stylist Melissa was sick and had to go home. It was scheduled for Tuesday 1pm.Due to some other appointments I was not going to make on time, so I called to see if it was still possible for me to go, since I was going to be late. I was told that it would be OK, so I got there about 30 minutes late, however when I got there was no one available and the service could not be done.It made me waste my time and gas, I was willing to tip extra for not be able to honor the original appointment time, and I called to make sure I could still go. The people did not care and the hair stylist Melissa went out for "lunch time". I am very disappointed and I am started feeling discriminated again !!! NO MORE SUZAN MERRICK'S !!! And MELISSA HAIR STYLIST!!!!

Jaime was fabulous! Although I was a new client, she found time for me in her calendar for a smoothing treatment. She did an awesome job, my hair looks so soft and shiny. Thank you so much, I love my hair and the great conversation. I will definitely be back!

I got my first DevaCurl cut by Jami several months ago and she did a great job! I learned a lot from her about the difference between getting a curly cut and a regular hair cut (and about coloring curly hair) - I will never get a regular haircut again! I just booked my appointment with her to color my curls for my wedding next week! She fit me into her schedule when I was in a time crunch. I have already recommended Jami to a curly friend :)

I had been wanting more volume in my mid-back length curls, which I had nurtured and taken time to grow. I always had issues being a little dry on the back of the crown and wanted bangs and volume to the front. I was suggested Susan Merrick's by a coworker. I arrived and was greeted by April who was friendly from the beginning. I immediately showed her pictures of my hair crushes (both with long and voluminous curls) and made it clear that I didn't want to lose my length, I just wanted some layers to frame my face and volume with bangs. We chatted throughout the hair cut and she separated and lifted my hair cutting for a long while. It didn't seem that she was cutting a lot during the process. We had good conversation and eventually we went to wash. She showed me good techniques for separation and definition (would have been very beneficial for my long hair). I sat under the dryer then she diffused. When we finished I did love the cut and shape, however it wasn't until I left that I realized how much length I lost. I went from mid back to just under the shoulder or above the bra strap. I lost upwards of 6 inches which I had worked so hard to grow. My hair/ends were not damaged at all and didn't require cutting. I wish I had been more cautious and every time I think about how short it is, it really makes me feel a little ill I'm so sad about the length of this cut. April was really nice but it just shows me why I stopped going to salons in the first place and if I were to ever get a deva cut again I guess it would be best to separate the hair into two sections and ask that the bottom half not be touched. Now I have to start all over to try and grow my length back :( The cut itself was good and she is talented, I think that I just should have asked for only bangs. I should have paid attention to the review that said she stretched out her hair to cut it and ended up taking a lot of length because this is exactly what happened to me.
