We came here on a whim while we were on this side of town on a day off. My kiddo had a hankering for a burger, and we remembered they have a wide variety of items on the menu, so we ended up at Sunset Grille. When we arrived, we checked in at the host/hostess stand and were quickly shown our table, given menus. Justin our server stopped by to take our drink orders. After having a few minutes to look over the menu, we all decided: a kid's hamburger meal for my kiddo, a blackened fish sandwich for me w/ fries, and a chicken sandwich w/ fries for my husband.Justin checked in with us, refilled our drinks and you could tell he was really hustling with all the tables he was managing. Our food came out quickly and was warm. My fish sandwich was large and delicious, the fries were delicious. My husband and son said they enjoyed their meals. You may think since this location is so close to the beach that prices would be high, but I think the the prices are fine and portions are generous.

Hello Yelpers! I know, I know. It's been awhile. Happy 2025 and I hope the new year has been bringing everyone happiness and full bellies. So, let this be my first review of 2025. Unfortunately, when we heard of this place it was really hyped up versus our real experience. My wife and I went to a book event in St. Augustine and since it was our first time in the area, this place was recommended to us with high reviews. Well, we tried it and sad to say, it was a bit disappointing.Let's start with the ambiance. This place was a beach side theme but one of the immediate things that stood out to us was it was so loud we could barely hold a conversation without yelling. Next, we have to give props to the service as the crew was on top of things like clearing plates and making sure we didn't need anything. But, it wasn't overbearing. One of the things that stood out to us was, they brought us out the wrong wings (we didn't know because it was our first time and had no idea what the wings looked like), but they immediately brought us out the right ones with a smile on their face and told us to enjoy the wrong wings on the house. We didn't need drinks refilled because well, the cups were large enough to last you through the entire meal (at least for us). Finally, the food. We ordered the crab bisque fries, clam chowder, and wings with their homemade blue cheese. The chowder was good and the wings were ok. Unfortunately, the fries that are their most popular were so soggy because of everything piled on top of them, that you couldn't enjoy the fries or the flavor of all the toppings. In the end, it wasn't a bad experience and the food cost less than $60. This is our own experience and keep in mind, we all have different opinions and taste palettes. Give them a try if you're in the area if you want and let me know what you think!Happy eats!

This was a great spot to pop in for quick and delicious dining at the bar.I stopped by for dinner service before a show at the St.Augustine Amphitheater and was so glad to learn there is a seat yourself option downstairs. Not just at the bar but tables too.The weather was great so we sat outside. Service was quick and friendly. The food was delicious. I gobbled up my Ahi Tuna App and Fried too quickly for a photo but did snap a shot of the menu. Definitely check out this spot.

Stopped in for a late lunch. I had a margarita and hubby a draft. Hubby had Crabby Fries for an appetizer. He said they were delicious. We ordered lunch hubby had St Auggy fish fry with coleslaw and said it was very good especially the slaw which he said was the best he has had. I had a cheeseburger and fries. Also very good. Highly recommend and We will definitely return.

Visiting St Augustine from Broward County. Was looking for a place not crowded near the beach for drinks and appetizers. Wanted to sit outside and enjoy the cool weather. Upstairs was closed so decided to sit downstairs which was opened to the air but covered with heaters. The inside bar area was packed. Sweet waitress took our drink order and came back for our app order. My husband ended up returning his mojito which he never does. Said it tasted awful. Waitress replaced drink with no problem. The other two drinks were just average. The appetizers consisted of coconut shrimp which were average in size but tasty. The other was a mahi fish dip which was terrible. Tasted like tuna fish served with crackers individually wrapped. Did even finish it. Over all the atmosphere was very nice however I do not think I would return.

This restaurant is four doors down from the place we are staying. Last year we were here for a week and the place was down for maintenance the whole time. Looking forward to this year, I couldn't wait to try it. It was down for annual maintenance again but this year we are here longer. On the second day that it was open, we went in. It did not disappoint. We went for an early lunch. When we got there it was almost empty. By the time we left, it was full. I had the fish bites with a cup of New England style clam chowder. It was a great meal. We also had the crabby fries bowl. Fries covered with crab bisque with capers on top. Very different but delicious.

Local & tourist spot along A1A. Canadians will love their Crabby Fries (seafood Southern Poutine, using crab & artichoke bisque over french fries instead of gravy). Very good but we were looking for a little more spiciness so we added the table Sunset Grilles Datil sauce. Good lunch service from Britnie (no upsale for apps & bevvies we didn't want). Now MORE parking spots available: beside on the side & behind their building, a huge lot kitty corner on A1A. I bicycled here-locking my beach cruiser on their handy bike rack.Today we ate indoors since it was windy. Next time we will check out one of the interesting outdoor tables!

I usually think it's a good sign when a restaurant is busy each time I pass by. This was the case with this place. It was close to our hotel so we ended up here after work and not being able to get a reservation at another recommended spot. It was super busy but our wait was pretty short. In my opinion, the menu was waayyyy too extensive. So many random items. I wanted something a little lighter so when I saw salmon poke bowl I was really excited...well..it came to the table and poke it was not. My piece of salmon was cooked and not raw and cubed like I expected. I asked the server and she said yes it does come cooked and not raw. Poke means RAW. Lol. It was good but I was disappointed that it wasn't what it should have been.I'm a sucker for a great key lime pie..this one was made from scratch. I enjoyed the crust but the filling didn't taste like key lime..very faint lime taste and the whipped topping didn't taste like anything. Good location and there's outdoor seating, but I personally didn't find anything spectacular about it.

It's been a while since my first review. This is my second time back and I'm taking this up to a 4 star place. The Ahi Poke bowl is solid. The Fish Bites appetizer was very good. Lightly fried hunks of grouper and mahi with a nice dill tarter. The St Augustine Fish Fry was good, but not quite as good as the fish bites. I was expecting more given how well the fish bites were done. The Tropical Trigger dish was surprisingly good. I was concerned about the sweetness but was pleased that the citrus part of the glaze dominated. It was a good blend. The trigger was very good. The fries and slaw were good. The collards were good.A solid bonus is the two Dog Rose beers in tap. Both are very good choices.Service was very good. There was an incident in the kitchen that delayed my fish. They were honest and apologetic. Well done.I still love me some Oasis, but I'll make room for a stop here every now and then.

Very busy restaurant that's easy to walk to fromHotels. Will probably have to wait for a table but the service and food are worth it! I got the chowder fries as I was told the crabby fries have cold crab with them and I don't really like hot and cold mixed. The chowder fries were good--very rich. The bang bang shrimp was okay. My friends all enjoyed their dinners but the absolute best thing was the dessert! Just---takes your breath away delicious! If anything come here for that! Staying near by I would have gladly just coke back here to eat dinner daily. Lots of options, fun atmosphere and everything was really good!
