Got a coupon in the mail, so thought I'd give this place another try. Big mistake. The sushi is not fresh. The oil on the fried foods tastes bitter. They put so much "crunchy" on the rolls that all I could taste is the greasy bitter taste. Not edible. The amount of cream cheese they put in a roll completely overwhelms all the other ingredients. Chicken teriyaki was cold and dry. Never again.

Ordered through Door Dash: I am happy that they offer delivery which is very nice as there was not too many options available on Mother's day. We ordered a chicken bento box, chicken fried rice, and a steak bento box. The bento boxes come with alot of food: dumplings, California roll, tempura, soup, salad, rice, and your protein. The charge through Doordash was $19.25 each. My husband is allergic to avocado and put in the special notes on his food order not to include the avocado in his California rolls we which did not happen so he gave his rolls to my daughter. The steak was cooked very nicely and the fried rice was good. Everything else was okay and nothing stood out as being delicious.

Chose Sumo to celebrate my birthday with family in town. Our experience was surprisingly good. Sure, the atmosphere could use a little work, and there is no bar to wait at, but the Hibachi was fantastic. Our Chef was fun, energetic, and entertaining. The food was as good or better than other hibachi restaurants we've visited. Most of the servers were engaging and genuinely interested in speaking with the guests. We will be back for sure. For hibachi, expect $25-30 a plate. I had steak and shrimp. It was cooked appropriately and delicious.

Came in for a quick lunch and left full and happy. Fantastic service, food, and price (all of which can be hard to find in the hospitality industry these days). Will definitely be back again soon.

They take so many shortcuts in the use of fish vs cheaper ingredients. The eel sauce tastes like it was made in house and strained through the dishwashers socks.Spicy Salmon: is cut with fried tempura flake which doesn't affect the color.Rice: I would almost bet they re-use rice. It also doesn't seem to be seasoned properly.I would rather have Great sushi in smaller portions, than this cheap imitation in abundance.

One of my favorite inner Jacksonville Sushi spots. Great prices and delicious food. We always get the salmon, tuna, and dragon rolls. Worth every penny!

I ordered delivery from this establishment, so I don't have any insight on the restaurant portion. They are the only Japanese restaurant I could find in this area, so they have that advantage. The menu is the usual Japanese restaurant menu but I do wish it had more details online regarding what it came with and didn't have the option to choose the sides (white rice versus fried). They did a great job with my special requests - 100% in point (well done).Overall the food was okay. Sushi rolls, soup and fried cheesecake were good. The hibachi dinner seemed under seasoned to my taste (I'm used to being able to task the soy or teriyaki sauce and I felt like it was un-sauced chicken, veggies and noodles. It was well prepared enough that I will try again, but this time with will specifically order the teriyaki dinner instead of the hibachi (lesson learned).Food was also ready quickly and everything was right (as stated above, I had special instructions and they were on point.Overall, satisfied my craving for Japanese cuisine.

Very good option for hibachi!! Our neighbors told us about this place last night so we decided to check it out. It's small and dark but has hella good fried rice. We got there around 6pm and waited about 20 minutes for a seat at the hibachi table. (Note: from what I understand the sushi is also delicious but we did not try during this visit). They serve wine and beer but do not have a full bar. We ordered our drinks and food. They brought out a strange looking and tasting appetizer...not sure what it was but husband described it as fried bread of some sort covered in ranch dressing. I skipped it. Our hibachi chef was absolutely awesome. He was engaging not just to the adults but really zeroed in my 6 year old son and made sure he (and the rest of us had a blast). He wasn't just funny and silly he actually gave us great conversation and facts on cooking. Top notch really he was! Okay for food. Listen folks it's hibachi...it's all done similar. However, I gauge hibachi on one thing...the rice. And this rice was up there with my top 3 places ever and that's saying something. Everything else we had was really good too but the rice and chef are why I give this place a solid 4 stars!

This is our go to spot for Sushi and teppenyaki in the area. Very friendly service and good selection of creative sushi rolls. No hard liquor, but wine, beer and sake

Best sushi I've had that I can remember. The moon roll is exquisite. I could barely finish it and the presentation was beautiful. I usually get a bento box but the moon roll looked too good to pass up. Service and ambience was good. They also have a room for hibachi grilling.
