Steffens Restaurant

Traveling from NC to FL and wanted a sit down meal to give us a break from the car. I used Yelp and found this gem! Everything you read is spot on! We had the fried chicken and the chicken and dumplings - yum! Each meal came with 2 sides of your choice and 2 biscuits. Onion rings and sweet potato fries were crispy. Hubby got the mashed potatoes and corn nuggets. The serving size was generous and we had plenty to take with us for a snack later. And to top off the experience, the waitresses were delightful. Chatty and friendly, but efficient. They made great recommendations when we asked questions. Our glasses were kept full and they checked on us several times to see if we needed anything else. Take a break from I-95 and travel the 2 miles for a home cooked treat while traveling!

Driving through town looking for food and came across this restaurant. What a great find. The best fried chicken ever and the best price. The dish came with two sides, biscuit and a corn bread for $11. We also had the burger which was good. No wonder they have been there since 1948.

This place is always busy because it is such a great southern restaurant. The breakfast is always great and we travel to go here. The people are very friendly and quick to get you seated and waited on. The food is great. Tender chicken great waffles!

Service was pretty good, but the food was very bland. My party had the pork chop, ribs and country fried steak and the sides. The country fried steak was good and the lima beans were really good, mashed potatoes were cold and very bland.

Stopped here in Georgia while on the road to Florida for business. Just a little off the beaten track is Steffens. A local favorite for the folks in Kingsland, Georgia since 1948. Great food, great service. All the folks are super friendly and hard working. Locals too! A real slice of America. I had a Patti melt on marble rye with Swiss cheese and grilled onions with a side of local collard greens. Everything they serve is home made, fresh and good. Ever find your self in beautiful Kingsland, this is the spot!

First visit for lunch. Had the fried chicken, mashed potatoes and cream corn. The wife had chicken dumplings, broccoli casserole, corn and corn bread and biscuits. The Resturant is clean and the help was very attentive. The food was excellent and can't wait to go back sooner than later. Place gets very busy at lunch time so plan accordingly.

The fish comes on the side but if you've never tried it like this, give it a try - it's so good! The grits are very creamy and pair perfectly with the Blackened catfish. Very happy belly!

We found this place on Yelp and it did not disappoint!!! Plenty of parking. It was crowded but we only had to wait about 10 mins for a table. The coffee was nice and hot and tasted good. Not bitter at all. Very cute and country style. Portions are good size and the food yummy. I ordered a veggie omelet no cheese. It came with cheese. My husband ordered pancakes. They tasted great but they were served with syrup in disposable containers. Kinda didn't go with everything made from scratch Bathrooms could have been cleaner. Otherwise service was good and we enjoyed our meal. Grits were perfect!!! My husband loved the corn beef hash. We will stopHere again on our trip to NC.

Worth the stop!! And come with an appetite! We dropped in here on our way through the state headed for Florida to get our southern grits fix and they did not disappoint! We also sampled the award winning chili and the homemade onion rings which I would highly recommend. There were so many things we wanted to try on the menu! And the atmosphere and service are just how a diner should be. They are also dog-friendly fyi.

I am so glad we met a little angel in Kingsland that told us to check out Steffens. We got there around 11:30 which ended up being crucial to beat the crowd!Clean little establishment with maybe 15 tables and a bar. Our hostess was lovely and our waitress was excellent. She helped us decide between chicken and waffles (one of my favorites) and chicken biscuits and gravy. She talked me into the latter. We had been tipped off before coming that the French toast is really good. I think the 4 biscuits came with my partner's Porkchop plate but they came out first. We ate these with honey and butter. Apple butter and jelly also available at the table. The meals were great. Good ole Southern Cooking! I got a water. We heard the sweet tea was great but my partner said it was okay. Maybe not a MUST.I got the chicken biscuits with gravy which was all I should've eaten. In retrospect, we went way too carb heavy. Some vegetables would have been nice lol. Live n learn! Next time!!
