Southern Swells Brewing

Tucked away in a strip mall, this is a place to stop at and enjoy. Awesome beers that rotate. A variety of styles, some of which I'm always leaving with. Great service and vibe. Plenty of spots to sit and spread out or chill by the taps.

My favorite brewery in Jacksonville. They were recently able to expand and it looks great. The atmosphere is always chill, and they always have a great selection of beer available. From their hazy to their stouts, they have a wide variety, including beer slushees. Service is always top-notch, making good recommendations and knowing their beer well.

So I would give it a 3.5 stars. Located in a strip mall that shares a side patio with Talkin Tacos. (I'll review that on its own) The people here are super nice & helpful. There were about 10 options available. The staff will even let you try first. Sadly the cider option wasn't brewed here so for me that defeated the purpose so I got another light amber style. The area has room but for some reason the bar itself is small. Went on a Saturday late afternoon. Honestly for a more quaint inside space, I could do without small kids around in a brewery. My opinions. Not like they're even sitting outside. One lady holding a baby right at the bar and it's not easy as it is to squeeze in and order so we had to walk over to the side to make it easier. I don't like reaching through people anyways. I mean barely a toddler is walking all around in the bar area. I mean it's not like there's just 1 or 2 either. So, back to the positives, according to the board and their FB page they offer events here and specials that look appealing. They have TVs and game specials also. I agree with previous reviews it's slightly higher in price. $32 for 4 beers.

Known for their hazy IPAs, they also have "real" IPAs -- west coast. Wacky employees, moderately interesting interior. No food, but if you are starved, there is the taco joint next door (not tried but some folks like it.) All-in-all, it's an OK place. Just nothing special. If I could give half-points, I'd rate this establishment 3.5.

Consistently excellent service from bar staff. Plenty of seating at picnic table style seating, adirondack chairs, bar, high tops, or outside. Yoga on Sunday mornings with Mel is a great way to start your day.

Nothing good to sayVERY limited selection. Geared more towards girls and beer snobs.I assume the brew master has a be specific palette and doesn't want to deviate.

The location and inside seemed nice. They had an ok craft selection but a lot of seltzer options. I get it but also that wasn't what I went for. Prices were a bit higher then I would typically expect. $7.5-8 per beer. I think $7 is about avg from what I've seen these days. I wish they had games or popcorn for the guests who won't get issued state IDs (kids). If they did, our bill would have easily been double.

Always a great place and vibe. Dog friendly, kid friendly. Offers a small play section with toys as well as ping pong. Also, shuffle board for the 21+ crowd. You can bring food in too (grabbed Whit's for the kids), but they did have a taco vendor on-site as well. Tonight I tried the pineapple sour- super good and light, had two. Great vibe, friendly staff, fun music/live.

Great brewery in Jax Beach! Easy to find, lots of parking, friendly service and excellent brews. I've had a stout and a porter from here. Both were great.I liked the open seating and variety of tables to hang out. Live music was really cool also. Southern Swells has quite the vibe going on. Keep it up!

Great selection. Their Samoa stout and their 8 year anniversary were great. Busy place . They did not have a lots of sizes in their swag, not a huge deal. Means there are moving inventory and popular. Crazy they had 2 kid parties when I was there.
