Southern Steer Butcher had a most generous sweekstates for several people who had entered and won. I was one of the participants who won a gift card. It took me a few days to get over there. I met Dara as I entered in. I was pleasantly surprised how neat, organized, friendly and clean this establishment was. After I looked the entire store over, I then went to the met counter to order some meat. I bought a beautiful roast, hamburger meat, and two glass jars of jam:mango and Toe(Tangerine, Orange and Elderberry)jam, and lastly stuffed mushrooms to cook on the grill today. They were absolutely delicious. Pros:winning the gift card-so I could discover this wonderful shop! Cons:noneRecommend? YES

I've been in a couple times now and to the location in Palm Harbor- I actually have my daughter to thank for turning me onto Southern Steer. The location is off Roosevelt- which is a hike for me, but Thanksgiving Turkey was worth the drive. The sell (pre ordered) never frozen, fresh turkeys from Amish farms. You had me at fresh, never frozen. I cooked one of these birds last year and I make a delicious turkey- but it was 10x better because it was fresh! Now- it's not going to be a .79lb turkey from your local supermarket, that has been frozen for a year- this costs more. John has a friend with a farm in NC and she sells her turkeys for 8.99lb- just to give you a ballpark of what a farm fresh turkey will cost. Southern Steer delivered the best meats! This year my mom dined with us and said it was the best turkey she has ever had in her life. I LOVE that!!! Thanks to SSB!!! I will be making special trips out to them for meats more often too! They are a full butcher shop and have meat packages and specials during the week- you should definitely check them out! Besides meats, they have a selection of cheeses, pickles, herbs, meat rubs, and more. Even a selection of wines! And their marinated meats are just calling my name!

Decided to buy from Southern Steer after being disappointed in meats from the local grocery store. The store is super clean and the employees are friendly and helpful. Purchased the house chicken and the bacon cheddar burgers. Both were stellar when cooked on our grill at home. They sell fantastic sides as well....try the smashed potatoes...trust me on this! We will be back most likely weekly. It's that good.

This is their 4th location in Florida and I was told the beef is grown and sourced in Kansas to maintain the consistency of quality for all locations. I did see some beautiful ribeyes during my visit.I opted to get a nice slice of pork belly to roast for the carnivore in me which I was told was sourced from Tyson (yes, I guess they produce more than just chicken!). I also purchased some bags of beef fat to cook down for my mom's dog, Miko, who happens to be gluten-free. There was enough meat left in the rendered beef fat for Miko and a wonderful keto snack for humans, too! (See Photos)The prices were very reasonable for the amount of meat and fat I purchased and there's a great selection of pork, lamb, chicken, beef, homemade sideslike White Cheddar Mac & Cheese, Smashed Taters, Bacon and Balsamic Brussel Sprouts, Lemon Pepper Asparagus, Buffalo Cauliflower and "Cooter" Corn. I will have to see what that last one is all about next time....The employees seemed to know a lot about the cuts of meat and they did not hesitate to recommend and educate me on their products. I like that they have incorporated some desserts and other products from local businesses at this location. So there's definitely much more than just animal products from which to choose. Overall, the service was fast and friendly. The store was clean and organized. I look forward to try more of their prepared meats with the yummy looking marinades and that Blue Cheese Burger Patty. Will be back! :)

Second time here going on for only wants I needed. I drove into the parking lot with two minutes to spare. I went straight for the beef stew chunks. Half a pound for $6. Better than Kroger, Publix, and Aldi. Guaranteed fresh and affordable. They still have flavoured chicken wings, marinated to perfection for full Flavor. So glad they didn't lock the door on my face!

Grand Opening event! Large selection of meats - chicken, sausage, beef and seafood. We purchased some Jalapeño cheddar sausage & Buffalo Chicken sausage. There's also several condiments- dressing, salsas, jellies and so much more! Excited to try the Jalapeño bacon jam! Lastly, they have a decent selection of craft beer and a few wines. We'll definitely be back!

I was told by a colleague that I needed to try this place out for their bacon balsamic Brussels side dish. Decided to buy everything for tonight's meal at once. Got the sprouts, some twice baked potatoes, and some Argentinian marinated steak tips. The staff was super friendly and made some great suggestions (which another shopper chimed in and seconded). The shop was clean and the selection was great. We had to join the reward shop because we will definitely be back.

Yes, we entered thinking it was a new BBQ joint... we specially because... prior to it was a Pizza Hut! It truly is a Butcher shop. Nice lady working there and meats looked very fresh.

With the presentation of the place and the prices, you would think you're getting USDA prime meat, but what you're getting is USDA choice meat. There is a significant difference. Check out Clines Meat in Jacksonville

I shopped at this place for the first time this weekend. I got one of the value packs with the ground beef, sausage, and chicken. I cooked one of the breakfast sausages yesterday, and it was spoiled. Now I'm scared to eat any of the other meats. This was obviously not a good first impression. I will not shop here again.
