My husband and I loved this place! We had crab legs and shrimp. Every crab leg had plenty of meat and the meat came out so easily. It tasted amazing! Jessica our server was so friendly and she really made us feel welcome and our business was appreciated. Everything was clean and well kept. We highly recommend this place. We will be back!

This is in the old Mudville Grill location from many years ago, and I was excited to see something new and different in there. The place is nice and bright and clean with a nice outdoor area. We came on a Friday night and there was a bit of a wait but not bad, and they were very friendly about it. There were highs and lows with the food and our service at the table. We ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer and they were very good. The menu claimed home made ranch - this was very clearly not home made, and was just an ok ranch. We ordered the kids burger, the grilled grouper platter and the shrimp and grits. Shrimp and grits were good not great. The grits were nice and creamy and had whole corn in them. The shrimp were fairly unseasoned - it needed the sauce and the sausage for flavor. The kids burger was pretty lack luster. It was hammered - very overcooked. It also lacked in seasoning. The grilled grouper was a very generous platter. One piece of grouper was again good not great. The other one was very salty and not cooked right at all and really killed the appetite after it being partly raw. The French fries and hush puppies on each plate were nice. Service was fine but very very slow; for example, we waited for 10 minutes after she came and asked if we were ready for the check and when she finally brought it.I wanted to like this but it was just an ok experience.

I really had high hopes for Southern Coast when I was reading reviews but unfortunately it did not live up to those during our visit tonight. The atmosphere is casual and what you would expect from a typical seafood restaurant. Staff were all very friendly but service was very slow all around. To start we ordered the fried pickles which were good. However, the ranch did not taste homemade s stated on the menu. I had the shrimp and grits which overall was good but the sauce was broken and the shrimp were not flavorful at all. The saving grace was the sausage and the cheesy grits. My son ordered the kids burger and was not impressed. My husband got the grilled grouper platter. One of his pieces was a little over cooked and the other was a bit under on one side. To be fair it was obvious they were in the midst of serving a very large party when we arrived but the restaurant was nowhere near full. Maybe it was just an off night.

Nice greetings from Hostess (offered booth or table). Bar crowded for college football. Mahi, Trigger & Grouper fresh fish. No crab cakes - but understandable since we just had Hurricane Helene roll through. Server Natalie gracious. Checked in on us. Bathroom clean. My Mahi & husband's trigger fish both grilled - needed a bit more seasonings. Cole Slaw was quite good.

Very impressed! Food was so delicious and service so friendly! The shrimp po boy was probably the best I've ever had. Definitely planning to come back to try their other dishes.

We had a group of 7 that met here for dinner. Our server was super friendly and was able to answer all our questions. The theme of the restaurant is definitely nautical but tasteful. Everyone ordered something different and it was all very good. One friend even had a salad that she said she would get again. We all ordered at once but two of the orders did not come out with the rest. We had to ask in order to get their food. I had fried shrimp and oysters. The shrimp were grilled but had a lot of seasoning on them. The oysters were great. Cole slaw was good and even the fries. If our waitress had not been so good this would be a 3 star due to the long wait for two of our orders. It satisfied my seafood craving.

I have visited Southern Coast several times and they never disappoint. Tonight we were a party of 7 with theatre tkts after dinner.I arrived before my party and was quickly greeted by Natalie. I could tell she was new by her shyness. However she rallied and professionally took care of everyone's needs. Oysters were delicious and a side Caesar for me. My friend ordered a Poke Bowl and she was still talking about it hours later. Thanks Natalie for a job well done.

This was one of those let's try this place it's nearby move. We were pleasantly surprised that a seafood restaurant in a neighborhood alcove could be so inviting and above all delicious. Our waitress was absolutely adorable and so on point with the refills and requests! Give here a raise!So I ordered the fried shrimp, fries and Mac & Cheese.Shrimp perfectly cooked good temperature 10/10Fries whatever brand they use I would like a bag cause they are delish 10/10Mac&Cheese - meh, yup it's macaronies with some white sauce maybe cheese mostly at the bottom of the bowl. 1/10 because no excuse for bad MCWaitress 10/10Food 8/103.5 rounded to 4

Parking is easy in the plaza and they have a really nice outdoor patio space that is dog and kid friendly! My husband and I shared: - 1/2 dozen creole style oysters: the garlic butter and parmesan crust on them were very good. And I loved that they brought bread with it to dip it in all the buttery goodness from the plate! Would recommend- clam chowder: we personally didn't enjoy this because of how much bell pepper was in it (we are not bell pepper people for some reason lol). So the taste of that was overpowering for us- shrimp pasta: underseasoned so we added salt. Lots of shrimp a good portion but taste was somewhat underwhelming - smoky grits: tasted just like the clam chowder with the bell peppers We tried our friend's catch of the day (trigger) and it was delicious. Nicely seasoned on a bed of fluffy rice and veggies. The moves are probably the fresh seafood or their platters, will have to try those out next time we visit Jax!

Delicious food, generous portions, pleasant and clean decor, friendly server, reasonable prices, this place is a home run!
