This is the best park, hands down. If you've never been, plan for lots of people and sometimes parking can be difficult. Always worth it!

I was about a quarter mile into a Sunday run when I ran by this empty basketball court with a ball seemingly waiting for me in the corner. F the run! God was begging me to do one of my high school basketball workouts.Started with the Mikan Drill then went to pound dribble workouts up and down the court. Next was elbow jumpers. HARD jab, one dribble pull up, make ten at each elbow. As I'm typing this I realize no one cares about the details of my HS basketball workouts, so I'll spare you. But, I will say few things bring me more joy than a good solo hoop workout. I don't know why, maybe it's just nostalgia. Maybe it's when I used to do these I had the whole world in front of me. "Should I go to Duke or Kentucky?"I walked around this Park after and there was SO much action. Sand Volleyball courts were packed, Pickleball courts were active, a turf field with some kids playing soccer and others running routes, a skate park, multiple playgrounds, picnic tables hosting kids' birthdays, some pull up bars and other workout equipment, etc.It was beautiful. People off their phones, connecting with the local community, or just doing activities that bring them joy. Scrolling can only give so much dopamine. Love seeing people, especially kids, be outside and active. LET THE KIDS PLAY!Ig @jnov_Tiktok @jnov_reviews

Great play structures for the kiddos to play. Usually very busy, parents seem to not pay much attention to their kids, most are busy on their phones so I've seen some no-so-nice behaviors of the kids whose parents aren't looking. The skate ramps are always packed, I dread walking the younger kids past it because the language used is typically not very child-friendly. Overall, my daughter loves it when we go - just keep an eye on your kids and steer clear of the skaters.

This park has a lot to offer. Solid 4.25 ranking.1. Playground (toddler and kid section, handicapped swings, bright and colorful)2. Splash pads (toddler and kid- pretty basic, but fun for them, maybe a 4 rating on this piece of the park). Can't compare it to a larger community one.3. Skate Park- decent size, nice drops.4. Walking path- circle, around the field, but nice. Can also bike or walk your dog on a leash. Exercise stations run the length.5. Fields- large, soccer nets set up, does get busy on the weekend for games6. San volley ball courts- scope out early, almost always busy through early winter7. Tennis courts8. Bathrooms- basic- also would rank slightly lower at a 49. Picnic tables- can fill up quickly, but plenty of grass to bring a picnic blanket for in case10. Water fountain, with bottle filler and dog fountainFeel safe, but as always monitor your the kiddos as with so much going on it could be easy to get distracted. Ice cream truck comes by pretty regularly, would be great if food trucks did on game days.

I've lived in Jacksonville for nearly eight years and never heard of South Beach Park until I was invited to a one year old birthday party. If you take your children, grandchildren, nieces or nephews to this park you will have to do it again and again because they will love it! I was told it was recently renovated. WOW! The playground was huge with so many options such as swings, merry go round, slides and much more. There was a fence surrounding the play ground with two entryways that both included a lock (high enough that little ones can't reach it) at the top of the gate. There were also several picnic pavilions throughout the property, some small some larger. I noticed one with a built-in grill. The picnic pavilions were first come first save. There was also a skate park as well as soccer fields in the back. But the best feature, in my opinion, was the splash park. The water stays on for a little while and then shuts off. But don't stress, there is a button near the entry gate you push to turn the water back on. The kids loved it! And I didn't mind it either as sitting near it helped cool me off on a hot day.The park is a great place for a birthday party or just a family day out. Bonus, there were ice cream and shaved ice trucks in the parking lot. Stop by and check it out. Parking is a little tight, so I suggest coming early.

This is a great park to come to. There is a well maintained soccer field, multiple sand volleyball courts, a tennis court, and a skate park. The playground is closed at this time because it is under renovation.Weekday mornings, this is a nice place to go for a walk. There is plenty of parking.

It was a beautiful weekend, not to cold, not to warm, just right. Sounds like the beginning of a fairytale, doesn't it? I digress, we wanted to get the Nugget out to enjoy the nice weather, burn off some energy, and have some fun.Prior to having a tike, I always passed by this park, but never stopped. I was excited to have a look at it, since it looked pretty massive in passing. We pulled up around 10:30 am and to say the parking lot was completely slammed was an understatement. There was wall to wall people. We parked and headed to the park. One of the first things you'll notice as you're walking up to the park is the skate park. Tons of skateboarders doing their thing. The skate park is pretty huge. Then, as you walk past the skate park on the right you'll see turf fields where there are different leagues playing (soccer, flag football, etc.). This was an awesome field. Along the parameter of the field there was outdoor workout equipment. Then as you walk towards the playground you notice a huge wooden pirate ship. The flooring in this park is rubber and has some give, which is nice. There are tons of activities to keep your little busy. They even have a toddler section for the smaller littles. There are also several covered areas where people were having birthday parties.Pros:-Massive amount of space and play areas and fun for all ages-Lots to keep you and your little preoccupied-FreeCons:-My nugget getting so dirty he looked like pigpen upon leaving Tips:-Get there early, especially on the weekends if you don't want to fight for parking

Very nice the only thing that it was big teenage boys playing football while kids were playing.
