Dinner with my hubby and dad and big brother another great meal with family and the hubby. The food is always great. The services always amazing and the place is always so clean. It's become a staple for us to eat here all the food I've had here is always great. Highly recommend trying it.

It was a long drive from Jacksonville, but the food was great! They ended up putting another very large party behind us so it got pretty noisy, but the staff handled it pretty well. I'd go back!

It's not often that I come to Welaka, the last time I was here I noticed this place and although time didn't allow me to stop in I figured at some point the opportunity would present itself again. Well today was the day, we walked in a little past noon to find the restaurant about half filled, we grabbed a seat at table 13 and we were immediately greeted by several members of the staff, everyone one was friendly and inviting and Sue was our server, a wonderful person, and so neighborly. The menu board was populated with specials, a list of sides and a few soups, the beverage service includes Coca-Cola products, sweet tea, lemonade, beer and wine and more. I debated on having a cup of the Shrimp & Corn Chowder but I knew my lunch entrée probably wouldn't allow it or one of the delicious desserts in the display case. I ordered the 17 Shrimp Special fried Florida style with two sides (Lima Beans and Coleslaw) $13.95 and we also ordered the Fried Catfish Basket with Slaw and Fried Okra for a modest $10.95. The food was delicious and the atmosphere at this cozy little restaurant exemplified excellence - the interior was very clean and free of clutter, the exterior is perhaps somewhat mis-leading it's definitely old Florida charm but may not project that allure that's pleasing to all but believe me it's a genie in a bottle and that delicious meal you're wishing for is waiting inside...

We loved the 17 shrimp French baked. Now, even though it's still on the menu, they have taken it off the POS. So, now you can't get it. We are very disappointed as this was our favorite dish. We came specifically for this dish. We're much less likely to come back. Also, their hostess is also severely lacking. We stood there for 5 minutes waiting. Only to find out she was in the office right next to us the whole time. We were talking, so it seems unlikely that she didn't know we were there. Then she comes out and doesn't want to seat us at one of the ten available tables that we could see. She wanted us wait for one of the tables in the front room. Made no sense. We complained until she finally sat us in the new section. There were three waitresses working there and several tables. So, it was definitely not closed.

Food and service was good, new owner did a great job with the remodel. Glad we went.

Food is good, Service is good they make you feel like you are home, the remolded is very nice...

Place used to be the bomb. New out of town owners have doubled the prices on most food. They no longer cater to locals, it is a vacation hotspot now.
