Sheik Restaurant

I ordered breakfast and when I got home and open my plate, the biggest piece of hair was in my food!!! when I called back to let them know about it I was hung up on Four Tops like they did not want to resolve the issue. They wanted me to drive all the way back and didn't even apologize about it. It's only because they see people where they have service at on that side of town as low class they don't feel as if we are deserved of excellent customer service.

I decided to stop here for lunch today. I went through the drive thru rather guickly. The food was good as well and fairly priced.

The Sheik restaurant is the worst place to go to on Main Street I ordered a steak in a sack and they only gave me the steak &cheese on the pita bread when in reality I ordered the steak in the sack with everything on it lettuce tomatoes mayonnaise, the cut up banana peppers and you would think when you go back into the restaurant they would have just fix my steak in the sack the White lady in the front I'm guessing she's the manager said she didn't get anything wrong and there's nothing wrong with my steak in a sack the manager even went back and forth with me about this is what I ordered. And If I could I would give no stars every time I go there my orders always wrong and it's always a problem when you try and tell them they messed up

I can't believe that I haven't reviewed this place. I have been eating here on n off for maybe 30 years now. If you have been eating any sandwich shops in Jacksonville then you have heard of the "Camel Rider" and this is the place it all started. This place gas been open for a smidgen over 40 years now. I believe it was around 1972 that they opened here on main Street. Back then it was a hustling part of town with a lot of businesses and more factory type shops around the area. My Dad's first shop was downtown till we moved it out to the beaches where we lived. This place shows it's age that for sure. It needs some help but maybe the business just isn't there. The area is struggling now that's for sure. Their sign was even damaged in a storm not too long ago. The city says that they couldn't put it back together or even repair it. They said that they can't have one anymore. So I knew it was there and I drove past it the other morning. They have good but cheap sandwiches. They do use cheap lunch meats but for the money what do you expect? I really like their breakfast in a pita. The bread is also made for them by another family business. Now a days they have many restaurant all over town. So if you want a descent cheap sandwich stop into the Sheik Restaurant and grab you a Camel Rider.

They served me raw fish. The grits have no seasoning which is understandable, if you've never been there, you would have to ask for additional condiments, they will not ask you if you need any condiments, but OK I'm cool with that but RAW FISH??? Also, I ordered tots. It seems like they were refried, the amount of oil inside of them will drip when you squeeze it and the reason why I say seems is because they took them straight from the grease and dropped it in the container without any liner!!! Now I have melted styrofoam all over my tots. I'm not eating it. I wouldn't even give it to a dog. The safety inspectors need to come out and watch how these people cook and prepare their food. This is my second time going to this location and I had a similar problem, my fish was cooked but the center was a little undone. It was a larger piece of fish than what they gave me today so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. if I could give a zero star, I would four consumable safety hazards. I'm just saying while frying food at home you take it from the hot grease and drop it on a paper towel, a towel, parchment paper, aluminum foil something!! I just wasted $10 on a plate of food. I don't want to go back and get my money back. You get what you pay for smh!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!

The food was great. At a first glance, i really thought it was going to be nasty and dirty but it was the exact opposite!! It was clean and the food wasn't too greasy, perfect! The lady working was amazing too. She was nice and made me want to eat their again. Definitely in my top 3 fast foods i like to go to!

Stopped by when working in the area. Pretty standard on price, I got the steak in a sack w cheese and it was delicious! The fries weren't great and it wasn't the flashiest place in the world but on a cold day it was worth a visit.

the worst place i've even been to. they aren't organized at all and will forget what your had.... you have to check your food. THEY ARE HORRIBLE
