a bag of sandwiches on the seat of a car
The combo cost me almost $11 and they skimped on the food, plus my order was incorrect.
Sad, and I paid almost $11 for this combo?

I've been going to The Sheik since I was little, and it always is the best. I like to switch between the BLT pita or the steak in a sack. If you're getting the fries, ALWAYS get the seasoning on top. And for a drink, it has to be a cherry limeade. Always!! Every time I go, I have the same lady taking my order in the drive-thru; she is the sweetest. Although you may wait a little longer in line, the food makes up for it and is spot on every time.

My husband ordered a couple of hotdogs through the drive-through window. The hotdogs were really good and we were pleased. This is the first time we've ever been to the Sheik drive-through and we will try some other menu items in the future.

For starters, this Sheik location is open for business! Since relocating to San Marco, I've driven by this place a number of times, and have been continually kicking myself in the foot for being a Jax resident and not indulging in a legendary local restaurant chain. The Camel Rider - Ham, salami, bologna, cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo, onions, and dressing all packed into a pita (sack, according to the Sheik). First impressions? It's simple, tasty and filling. For a quick lunch, it gets the job done. Now, this brand is a Jacksonville institution, dating back to the early 1970's. You can tell the products are incredibly old school, which a young man like myself appreciates. For a joint cranking out sandwich staples in a quick format, I believe they do a job well done. However, it's not like they're reinventing the wheel. Don't expect the best sandwich you've ever tasted. But who can complain with a hearty pita and fries for $7? Cross it off your bucket list for your bucket list's sake!

I recently visited a drive through. I was craving a famous camel rider and was just in the right mood for it too. Fresh bread, fresh cold cuts an ice cold cola and I was sitting pretty for most of the rest of the day. Very filling and super friendly service. A staple in our community since I was 12. Love them!

It's been 37yrs since I ate at the Sheik restaurant and it could very well be another 37 before I go back, lol. This one located in the old end of Phillips Hwy but I was meeting a buddy for lunch and it was convenient so I wanted to give it a try. The menu is pretty simple, I went with the Steak rider and my buddy went with roast beef. Traditionally made with Mayo, lettuce, tomato and onion, that's the way we had ours made. Both went with combos to include fries and a drink. The restaurant is very clean and the staff super friendly. Someone, I presume the owner came out and told us they recently changed their hours and close earlier in Saturday. Thought that was cool. Our food came out pretty quick. Looked decent, filled with a lot of meet n cheese and it tasted okay but it wasn't with me long, let me just leave it at that...

I eat an all the sheik and always have great experiences. The steak in a sack is to die for get it with cheese and mayonnaise if you like the fries are usually hot and delicious and the old man that sits in there is funny. If it's breakfast you're interested in and they will not make it after 11 but at the Pita's are great and the platters are fast all eggs are cracked and cooked to order. I love this place

I come here quite frequently and the food is always fresh, hot, and a great deal. My wife and I go every Saturday and order the 2 biscuit sandwiches for $6.99 and add hash browns. It's always cooked to order and the customer service is wonderful.
