Seafood Island Bar & Grille

Best Seafood! Came into Jacksonville from Tampa to get away from Hurricane Milton. Looked in Yelp for a casual Seafood Restaurant. You place your order and they it's brought out you. I'm sure it's from the lack of enough servers these days. Not a problem for us!At first look, the restaurant looked closed. Name of Restaurant was nowhere to be found. Looked dark inside. We knew we had the right address so we took a chance!! Very Glad we did. Nothing to complain about, except a couple came in, didn't think they would like it so they left... I so wanted to go after them the show them our food. They missed out!

The atmosphere was great. Friendly staff. No one takes your orders, you'll do that at the register. The food was pretty good. I had a bowl of gumbo 8$. It came out room temperature, had to send it back to get warmed up. The cook looked dumbfounded by this...but anyway. It was...just okay. Came in after 8:30 pm so Definitely bottom of the pot. A couple of small, thinly sliced sausages and minced shrimp.The wings looked good, I didn't try them. But those who did said they were good and so were the crab cakes. The drinks we need I say... GREEEEAAAAT!!! Give this hidden gem a try.

Been here a few times and food has always just been meh. Last time I was here I ordered the mixed platter, the friend shrimp were fine, but the scallops and oysters grilled were over seasoned. The place seemed kept up well enough although it did have a funny unpleasant smell when we first entered.

This was my second visit to this establishment, and unfortunately, I left disappointed once again. My first experience a few months ago involved ordering the Captain's Platter fried. On that occasion, everything was over-fried to the point of being nearly inedible. I thought perhaps it was an off day for the kitchen and decided to give them another chance. This time, I ordered the Trio Platter grilled, but the food arrived lukewarm to cold. The scallops were overcooked, and the oysters contained large pieces of shell. Additionally, everything--including the fries--was heavily over-seasoned. On a positive note, the cashiers were friendly and helpful when answering questions about the menu.

A great bar and grill to visit during your stay/residence in Jacksonville. Miranda was quite nice and very educated on the restaurant, specials, and explaining the menu. Everything came out fresh and was cooked to the T. Pardon for not remembering names but the other girl was sweet as well. Full bar, $15 buckets of beer, and daily specials even on Sunday. The only downside to this restaurant is that it is self service although they do bring the food to the table once it's ready. Pepsi products available here and sweet tea as well. Indoor and outdoor seating. Great music! Clean and kept up, private restrooms. Mayport shrimp. BIG menu!

Food was absolutely amazingggg!!!! Service was awesome! Everyone was very friendly and super helpful! We tried a bit of everything and weren't disappointed with anything! Crab cakes, both ways, were delicious! I preferred grilled and hubby preferred fried, so you can't go wrong either way! Hot peel n eat shrimp were flavorful and delicious! I got the mahi & shrimp, which was on special, and hubby got the stuffed flounder and both were phenomenal! Staff was very attentive the entire time! Highly recommend!!!

A nice bar & grille that serves seafood with several options. I wanted grouper, but not fried. The Seafood Island Bar & Grille had 3 options, fried, grilled, or blackened. I was surprised, but none the less happy. I ordered the grilled grouper lunch, which comes with 2 sides. I got the green beans and paid an extra couple of dollars, and got a side salad as my second side. The food was cooked nicely. The fish had a flavorable taste, and it flaked easily. The green beans were southern style, but not too buttery, and they blended well with the grouper. The side salad had mixed greens that were fresh and crunchy. It came with red onions, tomatos, and croutons. There are several dressings to choose from. However, I ordered the balsamic. Everything was delicious. You order at the register located in the center. Then, a server will bring you your food when it's ready. It didn't take long to get my food. The staff was nice and seemed to be caring about your desires.The place has an island/pirate vibe. It was clean, organized, and decorated for Christmas! There are many options of seafood, so if you are interested, then stop by here and give it a very. I think you just might like it! I did!!!

Not bad. Food is super rich something's are heavily seasoned. I had salmon fettuccine which the sauce was super rich, but good. I could only eat about 4 fork fulls of salmon and pasta.

I've lived in the San Marco area for over 30 years, and this Resturant 's been there for a while, visited for the first time about four weeks ago and return today for lunch, and consistently the food is traditional, southern fish, restaurant, food, like back in the old days, so don't come here if you're expecting some form of Seafood foodie, experiment, it's just old school, but on that topic, excellently done, hush puppies are always perfect, I've had two poboys here, both excellent, and the folks I brought have enjoyed their grilled fish both times, staff is excellent, Resturant is super clean, I'll be back!

Food is subpar, but the service was great. The ambiance was similar to a fast food chain. Clams are good, they were out of oysters. Place reminds you of long John silvers.
