SeaBoar Seafood & BBQ

I've tried Seaboar several times now and just wanted to make sure that how happy their delectable food makes my stomach wasn't just a fluke!! CONSISTENTLY SEABOAR DOES NOT MISS!! I've tried their gator tail, fried shrimp, scallops and they are all winners!!! Perfect amount of seasoning, crisp and freshness!! Service is fast and courteous each time! Prices are reasonable. Most recently I tried their green beans and wow! Excellent! The Mac n cheese was creamy and ok --I prefer and balance of creamy and "pully-cheesy" with browning on top but it put me in the mindset of a couple notches up from Stouffers--just didn't taste homemade like from mommy's kitchen. I am an absolute Sweet potato casserole snob so theirs really could use some work. But the entrees!!! Depending on which staff you speak to--they sometimes will allow you to order without sides for a dollar or 2 less...their lemon-pepper dusting adds a nice tang and touch too!Definitely worth trying if you've been contemplating trying Seabor! DELISH!!

We've been here twice, but only via the drive-thru for take-out. Service has been friendly both times and found out they have a more expansive menu inside. First visit was so-so but was told they were doing a soft opening. Second time was much better. Got the three meat plate and the ribs were HUGE! Very tasty too. The brisket was great as well. Chicken could have been seasoned better. They also switched to bigger side containers the second time around. Can't recall exactly the sides, but I would say the mac n cheese was the least favorite. Their sweet n tangy sauce pairs very well with all the meats. Come try this place out and support your family owned business!

I just ate at this new seafood/bbq place on Cassat....near Normandy, called "SEABOAR"Right off the bat I noticed how clean this place was, so that was a big deal to me. I ordered the fried shrimp with baked beans and coke slaw. It was great! Some of the FRESHEST shrimp I've had in a long time. This restaurant has very comfy booths! The service was great too......I'll definitely be back to try some of their BBQ!

Just went through the new drive thru and ordered a seafood salad... YUM! First time I've had it, but sure won't be the last!

New owner and new name but the same good food! The master chef has been cooking here for almost 30 years and continues the tradition. Now, they have even more great seafood choices and even hushpuppies. There is also a drive thru. We as a family are so glad the restaurant is open for business and look forward to eating there often. Give them a try; you won't be disappointed!

We order from here all the time. Once a week. We order a shrimp plate Coleslaw baked beans. Another shrimp plate Mac and cheese & green beans. Received shrimp plates, double coleslaw and one sweet potato... no. I am starving and have to eat the shrimp before it gets cold or I'd be up there. I request a re do.We also tipped so that there was extra sauce in the bag.

Best seafood in town, drive through and indoor seating you receive excellent service. You won't be disappointed or leave hungry.

It was clean, the workers were nice. The food was small portions for the price. I had pork, it was very salty, the slaw seemed old, not bad, just not fresh. The fries were great. I doubt I will go back.

The chicken tenders and boneless wings are awesome! Since Smokey's closed and reopened as Seaboar, I haven't been able to get there as often as I used to, but, I am really enjoying the new environment and new recipes they've begun adding to their menu. I'm even more excited that with a new look and new tastes implemented, many of the original staff are still a part of the restaurant. The head cook, Jody, has been at the same location for approximately thirty years. The management also has been in the business for decades. The owner is an experienced business owner/operator for numerous restaurants around Jacksonville for many years. I'm impressed with the confidence and commitment that these people give to make this restaurant different than the old business, while retaining a semblance of the original style barbecue mixed with an extensive seafood menu, compared to the limited offerings of the Smokey's seafood fare. There's much more that I want to try of the new menu items and am confident and grateful that Seaboar will be around for a long time to come! It will again be a Jacksonville favorite.
