San Jose Deli and Grill

Traditional Deli with wonderful service. Management changed in February of 2024, so it is a great time to give them a try. My son and I have been trying restaurants in this area and this was next on our list.Store was very clean, as I said before service was outstanding.Here's a list of the food we tried: Drink stand - not many selections, but they do have Coke products.Sweet tea - they have not perfected the taste of Southern sweet tea, but it was fineFrench fries - crisp crunchy exterior soft, interior, really well done. .Egg salad sandwich - it was just an egg salad sandwich, no better no worse than others, just fine .European Gyro - this was a normally euro stuff with french fries, it was a cool look in the dish was good.Overall, I wanted to love this place, and it was fine. But that's all it was was fine, they played it safe, they didn't try to spice up their menu or give you a number of unique specials. They just serve decent food at what I thought was a high price. For instance, my egg salad sandwich, and I'm an egg salad, lover, Fair but it was $13 without many side drink or chips. Most places, including Tidbits, which is one of their competitors, is less than $5.But I have to say they five other restaurants in this strip center, including the powerhouse Mexican food at El Castillo, Donato's Pizza, Mad o' Seafood, a Latino restaurant and Açaí Bowls. So if you're going to compete with these other restaurants, I think you need to go above and beyond. Maybe highlight Middle Eastern dishes, maybe makes egg salad with some curry powder, and don't charge so much for just plain sandwiches.I don't have any qualms about going back, but I also don't have anything to draw me back. That special dish or that special thing. And that seem to be the theme with the other people that came in. This was a first time visit for a lot of people , and a regular crowd just wasn't there. Maybe that is telling.

Wow! Very fresh bread and high quality meats and cheeses. Can't wait to come back. Submarine sandwich was absolutely delicious.

Best sandwiches ever!! Fast service and reasonable prices. You won't regret eating here! My fav is the Monte Cristo, not your deep fried with jelly version, but still so delicious!

It's honestly a crime that this deli isn't packed full of people. I have been craving deli food and happened to be in the area and thought I would give them a try, and I was not disappointed! I didn't know exactly what I wanted, and the staff was more than willing to give me a sample of the chicken salad before making my choice. I ended up going with the chicken salad, which is delicious and doesn't have any fruit in it! As well as the potato salad, which is egg free :). If you are in the area, definitely give them a try!

Was in the area and found this spot on Yelp so stopped in for lunch. Lots of indoor seating available. I asked for suggestions and was given several. I opted for chicken salad on pita, with a side of chips.The chicken salad was very moist and tasty. I added a bit of salt, but I like salt, so that's to taste for sure. I did find some of the chicken a bit tough and in larger pieces, so it could get quite messy if you weren't careful. The pita was soft and fresh.They have a display case with several of their salads showing, and a basket of goodies (muffins, cookies, etc.). All in all a decent lunch for a decent price! What more can you ask?

I know the cost of food and labor have greatly increased in the last few years!BUT, I for one, would not mind paying an extra $5.00 or more, for a well stacked Rueben or similar sandwich!I would rather have that than two pieces of bread and hardly no meat at all competitive price!Customers will RETURN when the food is great, they can't finish it, can even share it, and feel like they got a meal like they can't get anywhere else!People will walk out saying "You get what you pay for!"Just a little advice from a retired NYC Deli Owner!

The best european food in town and the best service.Delicious gyros.The restaurant is very organised and clean staff.

All the dishes are wonderful. European food mixed with high quality American food is worth trying. A very clean place starting from the kitchen, toilets and the entire restaurant. I suggest you try it and you will be very satisfied. Service and communication are the key to success and you can find it there at any time.

Went to this place today to have breakfast, after not having been back here for quite some time. I have to say that breakfast wasn't all that. The food was lukewarm, and the customer service was pretty much non-existent. The hottest part of the meal was the coffee. Additionally, what else that was disturbing is that the prices reflected in everything that I've read are not what the prices actually are. The actual prices are $2 to $3 higher than what is advertised. I doubt if I'll return here again. The price I paid for breakfast just wasn't worth it. I can get a better breakfast for less money at several other places.

I had the misfortune of ordering a sandwich ( ruben). The bread was fresh. The meat was barely there no Swiss cheese at all. I can't tell if the dressing was even on it. It's the poorest Ruben sandwich I have ever had. I realize prices are high all over but this is ridiculous. Never again and warning others. Under new management. Hmmmmm. The place is clean, open and plenty of room. It was empty the day I visited. It was suggested by their neighbors. Bad recommendation for sure. Please save your money.
