What a fun spot. Super clean dining room. Super service. Now I am not an Pupuseria critic, in fact before I went inside, I didn't know what a pupuseria was. But now I know, I've been been back a few times.. the service is phenomenal, and the location is fairly small and very casual (we call it a pupuseria diner) we really had fun, trying a few dishes. We also marked a few to come back and try.A pupuseria is a sandwich and it is what everybody was having at this time of day. Fun spot, when you want to try something a little different and know that it's still gonna be delicious.

What an awesome gem! I ran across this place accidentally while looking for something new to try. The staff is awesome. From the minute i arrived until my departure I was made to feel welcome. I texted a friend from El Salvador and he said this place is very authentic. Pros:* Awesome staff - patient and willing to explain the menu* Great value * Taste was great* Unique offeringsSome of the items on the menu, like the soup, are not offered every day. The staff told me to call to check on the soup of the day. The day I stopped by was cow's feet soup. I saw a bowl on a customer's table and it was huge.

Pupuseria El Paraiso is a relatively new restaurant on the southside of Jacksonville, Florida and they bring a great version of the relatively unknown culinary gem known as the pupusa.A pupusa is a food that is from El Salvador and the Honduras. I describe them as a quesadilla and a meat pancake bump into each other in an alley and a pupusa is the glorious result. This restaurant does an admirable job of bringing pupusas to the southside of Jacksonville, Florida and on the food alone, it is worth checking out. Our server, I believe she said her name was Angel, was also friendly and helpful. This is a small restaurant and it is humbly furnished, but it is clean and bright. Oh, if you are a fan of hot and spicy, ask for their in-house made hot sauce. All in all, this was a winning dining experience and I would definitely recommend a visit here.

Their cheese and jalapeño pupusas were excellent. We ordered a special that included a little bit of all the good stuff. Would definitely go again!

Soooooooo yummy!!! I have been wanting to stop in since seeing they opened, pupusas are these yummy filled pockets with cheese and assorted filings, they had so many it was hard to choose what we wanted! I didn't realize they also have quite a few other dishes too, we got the special of the day which was grilled chicken with onions served over rice with a small salad, along with 3 pupusas... everything was delicious! The perfect bite was the pupusas with the crunchy cabbage slaw to cut thru the richness of the pupusas added the fresh aspects... just delicious! I have no complaints, place was clean, girls working were sweethearts, food tasted like it was cooked with love! Can't wait to return

Pupusas are like a better version of a quesadilla. Softer more filling. Like a quesadilla and enchilada had a baby. That's how my husband describes them at least :) His mom is from El Salvador and when we went to see the country this summer we enjoyed trying lots of pupusas there. Naturally when our aunt and cousins were raving about this place, we had to check it out! I enjoy the bean and cheese pupusas with the red tomato sauce to dip them in. The sauce is not spicy. I tried a pineapple agua fresca which was good and Stephen got an Aloe Vera drink. We got to try a couple of the desserts and the red velvet flan cake was definitely my favorite! It was really soft. The restaurant is super cute inside and even had some Halloween flair. All of the team working was very friendly and nice to talk to! Make sure to give them a try.

So glad we finally tried this little place. We love pupusas and were sad when our go to spot closed a few years ago. This place is delicious and hit the spot! We tried the bandeja of 6 different pupusas. Pork, chicken and beans were the common favorites, though I also really liked the loroco and spinach ones (plain cheese isn't my favorite but was very kid friendly!) My 9 year old who can be picky was impressed. My 12 year old enjoyed the tacos al pastor. The curtido was very flavorful and seemed freshly made. Jarritos and aguas frescas options too. We will be back!

What better way than to celebrate independence day for (Salvadorans) & Hispanic heritage month than to support a local new place! I may be biased because I grew up with home-cooked salvi food but I am so incredibly happy to have something like this in Jacksonville! We lack this so much and I'm excited to have Pupuseria El Paraiso. Although they only serve a few things on certain days, I thought they had a great selection of things. I'm hoping to see more traditional holiday foods and drinks. Hoping they'll bring back the traditional horchata (they only had the Mexican version today) as well as the shrimp cocktail. My family and I tried their pupusas, steak tacos, Carne asada, yuca meal, Quesadilla (Salvadoran Sweet Cheese Cake), and Empanadas de Leche o Frijol (Plantain Pastry Stuffed with Milk Custard or Fried Beans). All tasted like home! I loved that the pupusas especially do not taste like they've been frozen but more made to order. Their tacos are also more traditional but tasty (note that they're smaller than what others are used to and come with just onions, cilantro, meat, and sauce ).The service was wonderful, attentive, and informative. Location is great, especially during the week and those who work around the area. Parking is easily accessible, too.Ambiance was super cute - decorated with Salvadoran decor that I haven't seen since I was a kiddo. Loved seeing the different attire the servers had as they represented the culture well! Overall, super pumped for this restaurant and can't wait to be back to try more things!

Éste es un restaurante pequeño pero está rico y lleno de comida tradicional. Las Popusa son ricas. Tienen todos los tipos de Popusa pero ellos tienen uno que es riquísimo que está lleno de queso y jalapeños. Me encanta!
